The Drain Doctor

Good. Have called The Drain Doctor previously, and as usual service is great. Usually schedule service same day as called. Called before arrival. Professional, courteous, gives helpful hints regarding care of plumbing drains. They only clear drains - do not do other plumbing jobs, so response time is fast and cost is lower than regular plumbers would charge; recommended by another plumber for these reasons. Recommend for clogged drains.

This drain had been slow for years and finally got to the point that it took a half hour to drain from just washing your hands. Drano and a plunger did nothing to help. I determined the clog was not in the trap under the sink but further back than I could feed a snake to reach. I was not satisfied with the choices in this category in Angie’s List, so I consulted NextDoor and found several good reviews for this company. It was not an emergency so I called during weekday business hours and somebody came 2 hours later. He got it cleared very quickly and neatly with a forced-air device. Now I see a little whirlpool again when the sink drains for the first time in years!

Great. Very helpful work and advise. The drain service had been recommended by two different sets of plumbers. They are well thought of.

Gentleman who answered the phone to schedule service appt was professional, courteous, thorough and offered to schedule service for same afternoon - first impressions do matter. (I actually requested next morning service and received it). Service tech arrived on time after calling 30 mins before arrival. Wore uniform clearly identifying him as a Drain Doctor employee at door. Was professional, courteous ,and worked efficiently and thoroughly. Cleared clogged drain out into line(s). Charge was $103 minus 10% discount. This company only does drain work. Another plumbing company (which does not have all far reaching drain lines equipment) recommended The Drain Doctor. Sure glad they did. The charges for service are lower than most other general plumbers. So glad to know about this company - will definitely call them for any drain issues in the future. You get value for your $.

On 2/26 late in the evening we discovered that our waste water was backing up into the lowest point of our home plumbing, a tub and toilet in our downstairs. We called, after hours, and were able to reach a live person who gave us several tips and scheduled us for next day service. This was 6" snow day and the roads were icy and not safely passable. Drain Doctor (DD) showed up on time, even giving us a courtesy call about 20 minutes before arrival. We live in a 1950's home that has additions. We were not able to be too helpful as we've only lived in the home for a couple years. The young man did his best to clear our drains but was unsuccessful. He arranged for DD to come the next day with a camera. I've no doubt they would have tried to come same day BUT the weather in the Nashville area (snow/ice) meant DD workload was high. On 2/27 Wayne from DD showed up with camera. He was patient, careful. He had to come up with several approaches, thinking outside the box, because of the age of our system, the additions over the years, and a previous owners decision to grout the downstairs toilet into the floor. A two hour effort of running snake/camera around in our system never gave us a clear understanding of what/where the clog was but Wayne was able to clear our system. As he left he advised us of the 30 day warranty. On 3/10 we discovered that the drain system was clogged again. Wayne from DD showed up same day. He first rechecked all the work he'd done on 2/27. All that was fine. After some additional investigation he unearthed, literally, another section of the drainage system. Here he located a large, sludgy blockage which he removed. Technically DD could have charged us again for significant work but we were only charged the service call amount of $75. That charge brought the entire fix to around $400.00. DD was careful about their charges, the costs to us. They advised us of any additional charges as they moved forward with the work. They picked up after themselves and left our home clean and tidy and the yard clean and tidy. Wayne was pleasant to work with and we will definitely use DD for any further drain issues in our home.

We had family over and all of our showers and toilets downstairs overflowed. I called some other well known companies and none of them could get to us. Drain Doctor came within 3 hours and had it fixed within two hours of arrival. Brian was our plumber, and he was great. It ended up that our drain line from the house to the sewer system was sludged. They were quick and very reasonably priced.

Bryan showed up the same day I called--a big plus! He looked at the pipe configuration in the crawl space under my house and explained where in the line there was a likely place for a clog to happen. Then he came into the kitchen. I'd cleared out the space under the sink and told him I saw evidence of a leak there. He said that's typical when there's a backup due to a clog. He replaced the rusty and misshapen undersink trap, roto'd out the pipes, and got the water flowing freely. Bryan was informative and personable and knew his job. I've had work done once before by Drain Doctor and experienced the same positive results. I'm happy with their service and price and would use them again in a heartbeat.
