I dropped my laptop and it stopped working. I left it in the back of my car for a few weeks and when I took it to him, it "magically" turned on and worked. I should have walked right then, but fearing future problems and not wanting to have to come back again I had him take a look at it. I explained what I wanted my computer to be able to do. Just basic things like what Microsoft Office provides, Excel, Word, etc... He told me about the problems with Vista and how he could install Windows 7 and that would solve some of the problems with speed. I figured that would be a nice bonus. He also needed to back up my files while he updated the operating system and his price was about half the cost of Best Buy. I figured I wasn't getting out of this expense so I bit. I also bought a an anti virus for a really cheap price as well. Not sure I need an antivirus, but he seemed to believe in them strongly and he obviously knows more than me so I bit on that too. He tried to sell me some kind of screen cleaner, which I refused. He took way longer than expected and forgot to set up some of my updates on my computer something even he said he should have done and apologized for forgetting. It was going to take a while and he didn't want me to have to wait and rightfully so. I was not aware that Office does not come with Windows 7 until I got home and tried to find and open my files. They are all over the place and some are divided up. It is crazy. Apparently having files on your computer, but lacking the software to open them makes some of them come apart. I can hardly even see what some of them are. This is something that I really think he should mentioned, especially since I told him what I wanted it to do and he is the "expert." I would have probably bought a copy of Office from him if he would have just said something. I tried contacting him multiple times to ask him about the issue and have gotten no response. I got everything I paid for although it took a little longer than expected and the quality of service wasn't great. The problem is that I still can't use my computer for the things that I needed it for and I am already in $220 on a computer that isn't even worth that much.
