The job didn’t go well, It was an overall bad experience. He told us that he would be done no later than January 12th. He ended up getting behind and would show up whenever he pleased in the morning, he would leave at 2 oclock. Everytime my husband went over to check, he would be outside on his phone, every day. There wasn’t a single time that we pulled into our driveway that he was not outside smoking and talking on his phone. He wouldn’t show up on somedays, getting us way behind. We tried to be nice and finally confronted him about being behind. He didn’t seem concerned about this at all, he was supposed to just paint in the master bedroom and ended up breaking tile off the wall and wasn’t interested in fixing, which wasn’t part of the initial project. He painted all of the trim in our house poorly, we could drag a finger across the paint and it would come off. He blamed it on the paint, which was not the case. Even after talking with the paint company, they gave us a paint by number of everything he needed for the project, he painted it again and it still came off after we tested it. After he painted the trim and walls he said he was halfway done, everything looked good initially, but it wasn’t until later we noticed the poor quality. We felt we paid him too much money. We ended up finding out the sheetrock was cracking and not put on studs. Brand new sheet rock was not puddied or spackled and you can see all the seams on the wall. He ended up putting more spackle on and painted another coat making it look worse. He just got further and further behind. The more we expressed our concern about the project finally getting done he seemed to react by slowing down and not even showing up at some points. We ended up having to fire him this morning, hire someone else and pay them to correct the issue. He was dishonest about what the expenses were. He told us the paint we chose was the most expensive they offer. He said we were killing him on paint costs. He made us believe each gallon was $40 more than his usual paint. When I spoke with Sherman Williams, they said he had only purchased one and it was only $10 more than his usual paint. His intention was to tack on extra paint cost charges. When we confronted him about that he simply shrugged it off with no explanation.
