We service residential electrical and plumbing needs whether it's a small, quick job, or more involved project. We're a small business but that means you'll get a much more personal response as opposed to the large firms that often don't want certain types of business.

"AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Never had such a bad experience with a contractor in 40+ years - REALLY. see my other reviews of other folks who have done work for me. THIS is a terrible company who has more excuses than a deck of cards. They 'forgot' to do a bunch of things on the bid including running a bunch of conduit and fixtures yet miraculously a couple simple added things balanced out he claims. so 50 ft of conduit is free- Fixtures that were supposed to be put up were free? why did my material cost not go down. He refused to itemize either the materials list or the the revised work list to reflect all the poor installations, blamed me for the crappy work etc. they were supposed to put in bright lights in the garage they used crappy fixtures that throw less light than the fluorescent ones they took down. New ones on order i'll have to pay someone else to make everything right. Beyond that the guy made numerous excuses and was extremely hostile attitude threatening my elderly wife, HOSTILE. i gave him another chance to make it right and he claimed i actually got a bargain and he made threats and was EXTREMELY HOSTILE. Also, they left drink bottles lunch debris, plastic packaging strewn everywhere and broke garage door did not put fixtures where we agreed etc. threatened to lien house if i protested his 2000$ theft i am sure there will be a response full of excuses and blame on me- i'm not the electrician. His forte is excuse making and lying- not customer service and electrical contracting."

At RHODY ELECTRIC our goal is to make a life long customer! We are a small family owned business that takes pride in our craftsmanship and knowledge. We are licensed and insured in Tennessee. We specialize in all aspects of residential and commercial electrical construction and repairs. With over 25 years in the industry and licensed in two states I have the skills and experience to do it right the first time. Why pay those big corporate companies with all the overhead, when one call to Rhodyelectrictn.com will get it done!!
"These guys are great! They did some work at our business with some outdoor color changing spot lighting and also at our home with some bathroom fan issues. Both times they show up when they say they will, they went the extra mile and came back at night to adjust our lighting and trained us on how to use everything with the lighting apps. I can't say enough about these guys. Its great to find a tradesman that actually cares and shows up. They are also more than fair on the pricing as well."

Electricity makes the modern world go round. When your power shorts out, call Mr. Electric of Tri-Cities for quick and convenient repairs. We offer our electrical expertise in Johnson City and the surrounding area. Your home or business is in good hands, whether you're hoping to overhaul the wiring or install ceiling fans. Our promise to you is the best work, whether your needs are common or complicated. We represent Washington County's electric solutions with pride.
"Had to be reminded several times. Installed fans but left ceiling holes he had cut and never replaced. Told us he had fixed the garage circuit by replacing the circuit breaker, insisting that was the only problem. About a month later, that circuit and 2 or 3 others blew and we replaced the fuses but to no avail. Please send someone else this next job."

We are committed to excellence in every aspect of our business. We uphold a standard of integrity bound by fairness, honesty, and personal responsibility. Our distinction is the quality of service we bring to our customers. Accurate knowledge of our trade combined with ability is what makes us true professionals. Above all, we are watchful of our customers' interests, and make their concerns the basis of our business.
"Yes, Logan accommodated our immediate needs. What I admire most about Logan? We would have liked to address a couple of other things. He said “No” (hard word). After Logan looked at the scope of the work. Logan put his family first! You seldom meet a ‘MAN’ that puts family first. Logan, taught me a lesson for sure. Just because, I want and feel entitled because I pay you..well it just wasn’t right. Logan booked a certain time and certainly fulfilled his obligation. If you are lucky enough to have Logan you will certainly get what you pay for and maybe a little more!"

It’s important to ask an electrician a few questions before you commit to hiring them so you can make an informed decision as a consumer. If you’re getting estimates or considering hiring an electrician, ask them these questions:
Are you a full-time electrician?
Are you bonded, licensed, and insured?
What level of experience do you have as an electrician?
Can you please share three references?
Do you do residential or commercial electrical work?
What kinds of electrical work are you most familiar with?
Will any subcontractors be performing the work?
Are permits and inspections required?
Who is responsible for obtaining permits and inspections?
What is your schedule?
Do you offer a guarantee or warranty on your work?
Will you sign a do-not-exceed clause to keep the job within the budget?
Tipping an electrician is not a requirement nor is it expected, as they build a fair wage into the price of the job. It’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping electricians, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip 10% to 15%, it will likely be received with thanks.
Yes, you should get a quote or an estimate from an electrician. Most electricians offer free estimates or quotes. When getting quotes, do your research and verify each electrician’s license. Get quotes from three different electricians to compare. If the prices or items listed appear different on the quotes, ask the electrician to clarify. Learning as much as you can about the electrical work you want done will help you get the most accurate estimate.
Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
Yes, although there are different types of electricians, they must be licensed, certified, and in most cases insured. States have different requirements for electrician licensing and certifications. In some cases, there may be licensing requirements at the local level, but not the state level. It’s always a good practice to confirm requirements with your local municipality. If licensing is not required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed electrician with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
