Terry Tompkins

He was prompt, on time, and very courteous. We needed an adjustment done and he came back the day and fixed everything for us.

AMAZING!!! This is a rare father/son team that are so honest, kind and well versed in their field that I'd invite them to join my family for dinner. I almost hate to tell anyone about them because I don't want them to get too busy, but that would be very selfish of me. I am a single mom who lives in an upscale, gated community that seems to attract overpriced, up charging , dishonest, vendors simply because of the presumed income of the area. I have used Terry (who always comes with his son) many times in the past and yet again, when in a bind, the only person I trusted to call. I was fighting pneumonia when we woke up to no hot water in our home. After searching for a cause, I heard rushing water around my pool house. I was able to shut the water off to the pool house which allowed us to have hot water in the main house. I left Terry a message about the problem and knowing he was probably busy from the freeze, explained that it was not a rush since I isolated it and didn't need to use the poorhouse for the time being. Terry called me back and asked if two days would be ok. Terry and his son came as expected and in the freezing cold, traced the burst pipe which was hidden under the concrete foundation and gained access with very little damage. He was sure to give me my options prior to cutting or breaking anything to gain access to the pipe. They replaced the burst pipe with a new awesome expandable synthetic piping (blue), double and triple checked the work and then confirmed that I wanted the water to stay off until Spring. BEST PART...I had also lost a pool pump in the freeze. I batted my eyelashes and asked if they would consider switching out the pump with an existing one I happened to have. They explained that they had no knowledge of pool equipment but were happy to do the plumbing aspect since I could do the wiring myself. Unfortunately, I had bought the wrong size pump and we didn't realize until after removing the old pump. Terry's son went out of his way to try to make things fit, but when not possible, with a frozen smile, he set me up to at least function until I could get another pump. THEN I asked if they could look at a water heater that was leaking after it had just been flushed. They graciously ablated even after receiving two more calls for work and quickly found that the vendors had done a quick flush which had clogged the condensation relief valve and loosened the spring inside. Unlike most, they actually had a new valve on their truck and quickly replaced the valve. BEST OF ALL PART...when it was time to pay, Terry handed me a bill for the burst pipe ONLY!! I told him absolutely not and, of course, made a check for the amount I thought to be fair for all the additional labor (and parts). Terry Tompkins and his son are "old school" and their quality of work, ethic and reputation are obviously important to them. Terry has come to my house in the past only to tell me what was wrong and that he was not the best person for the job; and didn't charge a fee for the service call!!! If I was out of town, I would feel comfortable calling Terry and his son, telling them where to find a key, and trusting them to diagnose and repair ANYTHING! Heck, they'd probably water the plants if I asked. Such a rare duo and truly priceless when you find someone you can TRUST!!!
