They came and did what I asked them to do and sent the bid back in a timely manner. I haven't used their services as of yet. They were right on time. The estimate was higher than I thought, that's why the project is on hold. He was appropriate and courteous. I got the bid in the time frame he told me.

We love them! There always there when they say they’re going to be. They did a really good job. They will take the time to sit there and tell you what they are doing. Their responsiveness and the quality of their work is what keeps me going back.

It didn't even begin. I was quoted a price via text message. The estimator only wanted pictures of the job and Sid he didn't need to see the site. I scheduled the job and informed them that if they couldn't make it to call me. I took off work to meet them. I travelled over 1 hour to meet them. I received a call 15 minutes before meeting time and he assured me he was on the way but was going to come build the pole. After him being 7 hours late the guy shows up and says it's going to be more money because the job wasn't quoted correctly. He said he's going back to the shop and build the pole. Why even come out there. I got a phone call from the owner trying to bargain with me for their misquoting of the job. I had other similar quotes around the same price but it seems like he was trying to back out of the job or make me pay more. I would never recommend this business to anyone unless you have extra money in your pocket you want to give them.

I have Angie's List to try to weed out providers like this. Southern Electric was scheduled to come at 1:00 on Thursday. At 2:00, I had heard nothing, so I called them. They said they were 45 minutes away. They arrived at 3:00. They left at 5:00, so the work wasn't done. They came the next afternoon, Friday, to finish, but they needed a part. That's understandable. I paid them a little over half the final cost at this point. They said the part would be in and they'd be back on Tuesday. I didn't hear from them on Tuesday at all. I called them Tuesday night and left a message. It's now after noon on Wednseday, and they STILL have not called. It's worth noting that the part they needed was easily available at the Lowes down the road.

They were able to schedule an appointment the same week I called. Serviceman showed up on time and was very professional and helpful. Installed electrical outlet in crawl space and labeled circuit breaker accordingly.

They found the installer didn't do it to code and a wire was disconnected due to previous install. They fixed it and got it up to code. Hassle free. They arrived the same day and were very reasonable. They even gave me a war veteran discount. HOOAH!!!

I had previously called another "A" listed provider to obtain a rough estimate of the cost to replace a circuit breaker. They insisted they had no pricing information in the office and that a worker would have to come out and thoroughly evaluate the problem and give me a list of options and prices. I politrly said "Goodbye!" Next I called Southern Electric, and the office manager connected me to a tech. I asked the same question and he asked me a few, then suggested i check the ground fault interrupter. He also gave me an estimate of what it would cost to come to the house to repair the breaker . Fortunately, the GFCI had been the problem and was easily reset. Also, fortunately, I now know which electrician to call the next time. Great job, Southern Electric!

First contacted Southern Electric on Thursday 9/11/14 during listed normal business hours. Tried both numbers listed on their web site. Got no answer on either one. Tried again on Friday 9/12/14. Got no answer. Decided to e-mail them using address listed on web site. Received an e-mail back from them on Monday 9/15/14 stating that a technician would contact me that day regarding my electrical needs. Received no call from an electrician that day. Called again on Tuesday 9/16/14 to ask what was up and rep. that answered said that electrician who was supposed to call was out in the field and would call me when he was available. I never wound up receiving a call from an electrician, and ultimately decided to contact another service provider.

They replaced all of the bad plugs in my house. They do good work.

It went fine. They were courteous and took all the unused stuff with them to trash. I was pleased with their service. Left me a magnet name card on the junction box. I will use them again, when needed.

Friendly electrician quickly figured out the mistake we had made when we put in our new outlets, and he easily fixed it. What he did wasn't difficult, but we paid for his years of experience because we couldn't figure out the problem on our own. When you are DIY's, it's hard to pay $100 for a simple mistake, but having a safe house that wont burn down is worth it! I would use Southern Electric again!

They did a good job. The gentleman knew what he was doing and he was professional. He was well groomed and treated us with respect. He was respectful to the house. We know when he went around for inspection and it went very well.

They were due to arrive at 4:00 pm but I received a call at 2:30 and was told the service person was in the area and could he come by now, which was fine by me. He had to take the ceiling fan apart and was here for about 45 minutes. I thought $113.00 was a little bit high for changing a pull chain, but he arrived ahead of schedule and was very polite and professional, so I would hire them again.

After searching Angie's List, I selected Southern Electric for service. When I called, I had to leave a message on a telephone answering machine. Someone responded two or three days later. They in turn left a message because I was not at that location at the time of the call. I returned the call and left a message asking that they call again. My call was never returned.

I have used Southern Electric two times. The first time I reached a dispatcher right away and they sent someone out quite quickly. The second time it took me several days to get in touch with someone to schedule my installation, but I had indicated in my initial phone message that it was for a ceiling fan installation and not urgent. They were able to come at the time I wanted, and the service technician was very prompt. In the course of the two visits, I met three of their electricians, and they were all very polite and helpful. My ceiling fan was installed quickly and looked nice. In addition, the electrician answered some questions about potential future projects I was interested in doing and wrote me up a price quote. The only potential problem I see with Southern Electric is their price. I paid $223 to install a ceiling fan in an existing light fixture. This included their $59 service / trip fee and $50 to add in a separate switch to operate the fan. (We had an empty slot for the switch, so the wiring was already there.) I'm sure if I had shopped around, I could probably have found someone to install a ceiling fan for less, but I went with the company I already knew. The fact that they charge a $59 trip fee on top of the price of the job can add up. To be fair, when he gave me a price for future work, he said they would waive the $59 trip fee if I had the work completed in the next two weeks. He also gave me a coupon for my next visit. You should just be aware that it may be more cost-efficient to have several projects completed at once rather than paying multiple service fees. I have used independent electricians in the past, and their pricing tended to be lower and more flexible. However, I did feel like Southern Electric did a good job. I like knowing there is a reliable, professional electrical company nearby. In the past, I have had difficulty finding independent electricians who would respond quickly because they were tied up with bigger jobs. Overall, I would recommend Southern Electric.
