Generally well at a cost less than other estimates. I had him strip old opaque stain from the deck and apply translucent stain, which was a difficult task that other painters either wouldn't agree to or gave exorbitant estimates. I wish he'd been a little less aggressive with the power washer which fuzzed the wood somewhat and had done more sanding. Overall I'm satisfied with the result and price and liked Mr. Nolan.

Jim and Leonard are always punctual and courteous. You can leave the house if you need to. I would use them again and have used them before.

Jim and Leonard provided the estimate and did the work themselves. They were professional, punctual, and pleasant to have around. They did a great job and they were the cheapest quote that we had received which was nice because with the other quotes I felt like they wanted me to haggle, I would rather just receive a realistic estimate which is what they provided. They took their time and made sure that everything was done neatly and correctly. I will definitely use them again if I ever need any additional painting done.

We were moving into a new home, and needed to have the interior painted prior to moving in. We had a time frame as well as a budget to work with. Vaughan and Nolan not only got the job done in the estimated amount of time, but the bid came in lower than budget. We even upgraded the quality of the paint we used. They were very professional, friendly, and were always on time. We even decided to go ahead and have an additional bedroom, bath and hall painted since it looked so good, and they got everthing done right on time. The last day of the job, we had an inspection room by room to check to make sure everything was done correctly. They cheerfully corrected any touchups that needed to be done before they left. The also cleanned up after their work, and since moving into the home I have not had any drips or spots to clean up that were missed which has been nice. Would I use them again? You betcha!! I do not hesitate in giving them a glowing review, they deserve it!

Vaughn and Nolan did not give me the cheapest estimate nor the highest. I selected them based on a good reputation, fair price, and knowledgeable personnel. I rated them B in responsiveness only because they rescheduled my job after giving me a firm date. I understand unexpected situations can pop up but missing a start date should be avoided. To their credit, they called me well in advance. Except for that, they were extremely punctual and B is not a bad rating. The painting job was perfect. They carefully cut in around my brickwork without touching it. Good quality paint was used. I give them extremely high marks for being professional, courteous, and friendly. The work was completed for the quoted price too. I believe them to be very honest and trustworthy. I would not hesitate to use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Jim Nolan was the guy that I dealt with. There was another guy, but I don't' recall his name. He was fairly prompt and he came when we expected him. He was the less expensive of the two bids that I got and he did reasonably good work, not great but I'd say fair. I would use him in the future again.

Very bad, it was a disaster. We have a timber frame home (new construction) and we asked them to quote staining the interior living room beams and posts. They came on Friday and stained when I got to the house I was excited to see what they had done...what I found was a disaster on my beautiful beams and posts. The posts had drip marks, they stopped and started not wiping off the extra stain, stopped midway across the beam and didn't finish so i will have start and stop marks, the posts have blotches where they didn't wipe off the stain. I asked them to come to the house, Jim showed up and I showed him the awful work they had done and all the mistakes. I fired him on the spot---all he could do was blame his partner for the errors and poor work, I think there was enough blame to go around for both of them. Don't hire them.

He did an excellent job. Even when it was raining and it was cold, he did pressure washing. He came that morning and was pressure washing; I was really impressed with that. I would use him in the future.

They house looks great! They are punctual, kind, and professional. They communicate well and are easy to work with. They always cleaned up after themselves which I really appreciated. I would hire them again should I need some painting or staining done. I highly recommend them.

They washed the exteriors by hand first and then scraped it. They then put a coat of no peal first, then two coats of paint. Some places they applied three coats. They completely washed the gutters. They matched the paint according to what I wanted. They were on time. I can’t say enough nice things about them. They were so wonderful. There were just two people. I rate them very high overall. They used the products which I wanted. Next I am getting them to do the kitchen. They were very trustworthy as well. They told me that I could call them after two years and they would come and hand wash the house to make sure the paint is in good condition. They told me that they would not charge me much for that either. My house looks perfect now.

I was very impressed! This is a two-man team that works better than other five-man teams I have dealt with. I called on Friday to set up a Saturday morning appointment. Both of them were there early for the appointment on Saturday. They explained exactly what they would do and how they would do it. (Example: They don't pressure wash wood because it can cause damage so they would hand-clean everything using special cleaners, bleach and brushes.) They told me they could start work that Monday because they were waiting on someone who was not quite ready for their job to begin and since I was ready, they could go ahead and do mine rather than have me wait indefinitely. All work was completed within my timeframe and they cleaned up as they went. One of the partners was unable to work for a couple of days because of a death in his family, but the other one came and worked by himself on those days. One of the most important things to me was that I be kept informed as the job progressed. They were great at doing that. I heard from one or the other of them daily. I am very pleased with everything they did and with their professionalism. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

I checked Angie's List and found a good report for Vaughn and Nolan and called Jim Nolan immediately. He arrived the next day and gave a full free estimate. I had some hard to reach areas on the exterior of my house that need painting. He agreed to use my paint. They arrived on time and did an excellent job overall.

Fantastic! They came, worked hard and got finished quickly. I was impressed and I'm not impressed easily.
