Dwayne & Judy King Tile

They did a tremendous job. It took several days because of the many steps involved in the project. Because of that, I got to know them. They are very nice people and a joy to work with. I trust them completely.

They started in August and it took 4 months when they said it would take 5 days. There was no preparation. There was dust and debris everything. When they were cutting the tile in the garage, all the cuttings fell on my 2 antique cars. The job was done uneven.

I called and left a message and I never received a return call

Mr. King was very prompt about coming to give an estimate. He measured and told me to go ahead and buy the supplies. I did this about 2 months ago. I have contacted him several times and he says he is coming but never even calls back to give me a specific date. At one point I asked him to just tell me if he didn't want to do the job and he assured me that he did and would get to me soon. Now, i am a patient person and figured since my job was small that he might be working me in between larger jobs. That's ok, everyone has to make a living. However, I am done. Arranged my day around him being here today and he is a no show. Disappointed, he seemed honest and sincere at our initial meeting.

Had Duane come out to give a estimate on putting tile in a bathroom. He came for the price quote, the last week of August. The reviews about him being professional I thought were initially true. He was not the lowest bid but to get a quality service provider I was willing to pay more. Was I ever wrong in my initial impression. Told him the work could be done anytime after the first of September. He said that he could work us in within the first two weeks. No calls the week of the 9th. I called him at the end of the week and he thought maybe the week of the 16th. He would let me know. Called the first of the week to see if he could come. Said to call back later in the week. Called on that Thursday. Was told that everyday this week was like a Monday but that next week should be good. Called on the 23rd and the first part of the week was no good but that he would definitely be there on Wednesday the 25th. I drove in from out of town to meet him. Wednesday at 830 am, he was a no show. I called. He was finishing up another job, and he couldn't make it that day but Friday was the day and he would finish on Saturday if need be. Friday came and guess what - no Duane. Called at 10:30 to tell me did I know that I lived in a high crime area. Baloney, this is a great north Chattanooga area. His truck had been broken into and his equipment was stolen! He was a no show. He said he would get a new tile saw and be there on Monday the 30th. Well, you guessed it!!! No show or no call on the 30th. Based on my experience with Duane, I cannot recommend him.

Mr. Dwayne King gave us a REAL FAIR quote to repair tile in the downstairs, and to add new back splash tile in the kitchen. We decided to use him because of these main things, 1. His great reviews on Angie's list, 2. His fair Pricing, 3. His Experience and Knowledge of more than 40 yrs. 4. His pleasant personality Dwayne Responded very quick, answered every call, and arrived at appointed time. And he kept us aware at all times of his return times and if he was running a little late he would call us and let us know. During Dwayne's work here he was real pleasant and informative. We are so pleased to deal with a professional, with great knowledge about his Art, we knew it would be done right the first time, this time. We are VERY PLEASED with the final results, and my wife is REALLY HAPPY , you know the ole saying ... "HAPPY WIFE- HAPPY LIFE ". Dwayne and his team did several odd handyman jobs for me while installing the deck and renovating my master shower. Initially I liked their work! However, the shower head was not installed properly, it leaks around the gooseneck and the shower handle flange comes loose. The shower, fan, and towel rack were included in his estimate yet I bought everything and he gave me no credit for any of it and added an additional $600 to boot because his deck builders were lazy drunks who showed up to work at 10:00am, took an hour or longer lunch and then left at 3:00PM every single day. Dwayne had to pay them for an extra 12 days because of that and he didn't take it out of his profit, he made me pay for that. It took him and his hired hands nearly 3 times as long as estimated to complete the project which impacted me severely due to medical reasons. His helpers were supposed to haul-off stuff under the deck yet I found that they just stacked it underneath the house out of sight. Very shabby. I doubt that I would hire Dwayne again, he still owes me a mailbox installation. I tried so hard to give Dwayne a good rating, and I've done several updates, but I decided to just be purely honest. Beware.

Dwayne was very professional he completed the job on time and for the price quoted. My wife and I are very pleased with the work performed and the bathroom looks great!

We discovered that our large rock shower had been leaking since we moved in (almost 4 years earlier). There was a lot of floor and structural damage. Because the shower was stacked stone it had to be completely demolished for the repair work to be completed. We decided to replace the shower walls and floors with stacked slate and flat slate. Two rock slab benches were reinstalled and two small niches installed. We are extremely pleased with the quality. We were home each day and can attest to Dwayne's workmanship. He is polite, knowledgable and offered ideas that we actually adopted into the redesign. We are extremely confident in his work and have had him return for a second smaller and unrelated job. We have recommended him to our family and will definitely use him if/when we have opportunity in the future.

Called Dwayne and he came over a gave me a quote based on the conditions. We had to wait 2 weeks due to his back log. Once he started he was all work. He came out and laid tile on first day then came back to complete the job by grouting the tiles. Looks very good.

They did a wonderful job in an expedient, professional manner.

It went perfectly! They started on time and finished on time. See my story above. We could not be more pleased! We have 2 bathrooms to re-do, and we will definitely be using DJ King Tile.
