After interviewing several real estate companies, we decided to hire Hammontree Real Estate to sell our 50-year-old home in Seymour. We chose Hammontree because they still use print advertising with photos, while the other companies we interviewed did not. The other companies also were unwilling to spend time doing "open houses." We felt that the real estate agent, Brenda Fannon, was very positive about our property and committed to selling our home. We signed the listing agreement on April 5, 2012. Ms. Fannon marketed our home through print advertising, home sale internet sites, and an open house attended by several potential buyers. On May 9, 2012, we received two competing offers for our home. Our home sold for about 5 percent less than our asking price. We think that the amount of time that the home was on the market was excellent.
