Job was supposed to be a completed in a week. Three weeks later nothing was complete and business owner, Eddie Bittle, never came to the job site as promised. The deck replacement was terrible with nails sticking out, corners not matching, pickets not level, and all banisters wobbly. His crew came when they were told to and they would get calls from Bittle or his foreman to go to another site. I know this because it happened a few times I was outside when it happened. They left old decking boards and new decking boards on the patio for ten days and I ended up stepping on a rusty nail which went into my foot. I sought medical treatment and Bittle never offered to repay me for my medical treatment. And, as I recall, never apologized for it either. They did come pick up the decking the next day. They would not show up for days at a time while I waited at home for them. Never a call from them. Later, when we called a meeting with Bittle, he stated they were building other decks, from 5-8 of them while mine stood unfinished. Let alone the other work they had not started yet. Who wants to hear about other work they completed while your own sits unfinished? At this meeting Bittle said he was lied to by his crew about the work being finished, that someone was going to be fired. Take responsibility for what you, Bittle, did wrong. Don't treat your crew so poorly and threaten them when you knew this job was not complete. At this meeting Bittle brought vinyl siding with him to discuss starting that repair. If he felt all the work was complete, why would he bring more material for the home repair, why did they not bill me during the two weeks they were supposedly finished? Why did he not come check the end product? Because he was doing work for other people. For the elderly, where he gets most of his referrals. Well, guess who also got his name from the same elderly referral service? We did, and he forgot that. And, yes, I have discussed this situation with the referral service. The E-N-J crew did come back and remove the deck, banisters, and steps and rebuilt the deck again. Someone from their company did came back and inspect it, added some bolts to secure the posts and left an invoice in the middle of my driveway. I paid the invoice, which covered the final repair and Bittle paid for the first attempt at a repair, which was the right thing for him to do. Good luck to you if you choose to hire them. I would not recommend it.

I found ENJ Contracting under and quot;Electrical Serviceand quot;. When I called them, the person who answered referred me to Union Electrical Contracting. I called Union and made an appointment. When he arrived, in the course of our conversation, I discovered that Union is NOT on Angie's list nor is he affiliated with ENJ Contracting. ENJ Contracting does NOT provide electrical service even though they are listed as such. The electrician from Union said that he once was listed on Angie's List, but was required to pay to be on there even though you advertise that they don't. He checked out my electrical problem, made a recommendation, and charged me $100 for the service call. Much higher than the norm. I'm not happy, and must say I have lost a lot of confidence in Angie's list.
Description of Work: Service call and a recommendation to upgrade the size of my stove main line from the electrical panel. Did not fix the short I originally called about.

They have worked on properties where I have been the Realtor in the past. This job was performed on my property. I have found them to be very responsive and willing to come back to fix the rare problem that may occur.
Description of Work: ENJ fixed a leaky toilet, solar lights and phone lines.
E-N-J Handyman's team of experts were experienced, skillful, professional and friendly masterful craftsmen. From the beginning of the job the foreman made it clear that the customer is always right! This company philosophy formed the basis for their honesty, integrity, dedication, reliability, initiative and excellent work ethic. I have already contracted Eddie Bittle, E-N-J Handyman for additional work in the near future: to remove carpet throughout house and apply polyurethane floor finish, install floor coverings in den and kitchen, paint interior plaster walls and ceilings and refinish front door. I am extremely pleased with their work and am happy to recommend them to my friends.
Description of Work: Mr. Bittle’s team of four skilled professionals replaced bathroom floor, tiled floors, repaired and shingled shed roof, replaced damaged soffits and fascia, grooved driveway and installed drain to prevent water from coming into house, built removable shelving, fixed lighting, repaired electrical outlets, installed curtain rods, caulked cracks in kitchen tile, installed storm door, trimmed bushes, cut trees, installed chimney caps, and repaired guttering.
