 + -1 moreIt was easy to make an appointment with this small business. The owner came with his assistant. They were on time. They did a thorough job and answered all of my questions. They helped me understand how we can get the most efficient use of our stove in a safe way. They suggested some other safety ideas. They were very pleasant and professional. They did a clean job. I wouldn't hesitate to contact them again and I recommend their service to friends.
Description of Work: Cleaned and checked out a wood burning stove that had not been used for 3 years.

 + -1 moreAs usual, prompt, cheerful, competent service. No dawdling. Call (865) 908-0910. Wife Jerri is the scheduler and business manager; leave a message and she'll call you back. (She too knows a lot about chimneys, stoves, fireplaces, etc. Chimney Sweep Steve arrives promptly with a smile, goes right to work, keeps your living room clean, works quickly and thoroughly. When he leaves you'll know you and your chimney are safe from chimney fires. He also can give you helpful suggestions for using your fireplace and/or stove safely and efficiently. He can tell you if your wood is seasoned enough for safe use. I highly recommend Black Bear Chimney Sweep.

 + -1 moreSee above. I'm so glad to feel secure from home chimney fires. Steve is competent, efficient, pleasant.
Description of Work: Called Black Bear Chimney Sweep earlier this week, thankfully before the present cold and rain began. Steve Williams is the licensed chimney sweet, wife Jeri answers the phone (or calls back promptly) and schedules appointments. As in the last two year, Steve arrived promptly as scheduled. He's friendly, knowledgeable, happy to answer questions about best chimney/wood stove practices. I so appreciate his advice. He found little build-up this year and reported that what he found in creosote was the fine powder that's less dangerous. Nevertheless I'm glad to have it removed. Steve says the longer the creosote sits in the chimney the faster the build-up. In other words, it works exponentially. Quite reassuring to know we can build a fire this cold wet afternoon and be warm all night as temps dip into the 20's.

 + -1 moreThey are wonderful. He is very professional. There is no dust or dirt left. He covers everything. He is very friendly. I asked him about the quality about the wood I was using, and he went out into my backyard and looked at my wood. He told me that I had a few pieces that were too soft, which was something he did not have to do. I would absolutely use him every year and he is very knowledgeable about what he does.
Description of Work: We have a wooden stove and a fireplace. I called them in to clean the chimney. He also cleaned my dryer vent.

 + 1 morePleasant and professional. Found moderate build-up -- we used our Buck stove a lot last year. Also answered questions any and all questions. Left the living room as clean as when he arrived. I'm so glad to have found Black Bear and will use them every year. There's normally a transportation charge to come to Knoxville but Mark(?) waived that charge because he was coming to this area anyway. He also cleaned gratis the vent to our clothes drier as suggested in Angies List magazine Highly recommended!! They do not have a website as yet but you can find on Facebook. Just enter and quot;Black Bear Chimney Sweep.and quot;
Description of Work: Black Bear Chimney Sweep was recommended by the business from which we bought our Buck stove fireplace insert. Arrived promptly to clean the 30-foot flue of our fireplace stove insert.
