It worked out fine. The company sent 2-3 techs who were at the home for 45 minutes to an hour.

My experience with them went fantastic. They showed up early and called before they came. We have a lot of ice and snow but they braved the weather and came out anyway and took care business. They cleaned up. You wouldn't even have known they were here, much less swept out a dirty chimney. They were excellent.

This turned out alright. They weren't able to do everything they said they were going to do over the phone. They said they'd replace the back panel on my fireplace, but then later said they couldn't do it without extra costs.

Two gentlemen from The Mad Hatter performed the inspection and cleanup service. Polite and punctual. Mr. Brett Summit and his colleague (I do not have his name) also inspected the outside of the chimney at the roof line. Their service and professionalism was exemplary and I will no doubt use them in the future. These guys are an asset to The Mad Hatter and to Angie's List.

They were a little late but called ahead, as asked. They were fast and professional and did not make any mess whatsoever. The chimney cleaning went well. It's working like a dream now. The inspection, of course, came up with problems that the serviceman said need to be repaired immediately, at a cost of $900. I told him I'd consider it. He said not to use the fireplace until the repairs were made. hmmmm.....

Easy to schedule. They were very flexible to meet my schedule's needs. They were a few minutes late due to another job running over, but handled all my needs professionally and punctually. I would definitely recommend them.

They showed-up exactly on time. . .and did their work in a timely, professional manner. The inspection process was seamless, and the minor repairs done without extra charge. They also provided documentation of the Chimney's safety, which was important because I was about to put the house on the market, and it would be needed. Their inspection form was accepted by the home inspector, without comment or question. I was really hoping for Dick Van D*** and a bunch of dancing, singing chimney sweeps. . .but oh well. Ya' can't have everything.

It was good. He explained to me how to use the fireplace. I was pleased with him.

Called to see if it was OK to come early which I appreciated. They worked fast, completing the job quickly. They answered all my questions. They left things cleaner than before.

Service was extremely fast, professional, and top quality.

After a month, no one has returned my call to set up an appointment. What a joke.

Fantastic and THOUGHTFUL service. They were about a half hour late. No huge deal, but I work from home so they may want to look at calling when they're running behind for people that take off from work to wait. But I am so pleased with the service it's fine. Completed cleaning and inspection. Explained to me the findings, provided me with estimates for repairs, as well as alternative fixes that might "get me by." Will definitely use them again.

They were late; no phone call. Once they arrived they were very professional and kept me in the loop on what was going on with the project. Didn't leave any mess and professional!

Spoke w one of the owners over a week ago and he gave me an approx. estimate over the phone after looking at photos of my chimney. He said he would send someone out to look at the chimney in person. I had to call back 4 days later to find out when they were coming out. He said they could come out the next day at 2:00 and come back out on Saturday to do the job. The service tech was 30 mins late but called to let me know. I was in our fenced in back yard when they arrived so I just told them to go around to the other side of the house to check the chimney. When I came in, I saw they had left the estimate and it was marked "customer not present to sign"? The quote was $1000 more than what I was told over the phone so I called two days later (Friday morning) to find out details. Mark answered and said he didn't know anything about the job that I must have spoken to his brother. When I told him what his brother had told me he said he would call me back. He did call me right back and explained the reason for the cost of the job but said they couldn't do it Saturday because I didn't let them know soon enough. We close on our home on Wednesday and the repair has to be done before then. They knew that, which is why I was told they could do the work on Saturday to begin with because they were already booked the following week. Mark said sorry, I should have called back sooner that they couldn't ask their workers to work on Saturday at the last minute. I told them I wasn't told I had to call back within any certain time frame in order for them to come out on Saturday. Mark said "I'm sorry mame, you'll have to find somebody else, have a good day" and hung up. Really? That's how you end a call? Not professional. Poor communicators

Very professional, explained the process and our options to us very throughly.

They swept the chimney; No mess at all, Checked the inside and let me know the inside of the chimney looked to be in great shape but the flue was broken and had open gaps on the top seal. (This I already knew) They installed a new Flue: They had a new flue setup in the truck with them that would fit my chimney. They quoted a price and told me they could do it today. I have very busy schedule and I knew I really had to get this done; and the price wasn't too bad so I jumped at the opportunity. They had everything they needed in the truck, did a quick, clean and solid job. The Flue seals tight. They showed me how to use it, (Extremely easy), gave me the Warranty and were done. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone and will be using them again myself.

Two men showed up on time and introduced themselves. They quickly went to work cleaning the chimney. I could tell they knew what they were doing. They then proceeded to the attic to follow the dryer vent to the outside and ran into a problem. They articulated the problem well - It appears when HVAC was installed several years back the installers disconnected the dryer vent from the outside vent to install the unit and in doing so the duct needed to be rerouted. They were unable to fix as there was not enough time on this call and it would require material they did not carry with them. I trust The Mad Hatter to fix the problem but I called the company that installed the HVAC and they offered to take a look and fix.

They were on time and very professional. I was looking for a chimney check before installing a gas log system. They checked the chimney and quickly cleaned the fire place. I had had only a few fires since the last chimney cleaning.

The guys were punctual and nice. They explained how our stove worked and really took care to make sure we knew what to do as well as cleaned our chimney.

My old damper has been broken for the last 5 years, and was originally put in when the house was constructed back in 1956, and parts are no longer available. Other people who have checked it out never had a solution. Mad Hatters however gave us an option. Putting in a new one in the same location would have involved tearing out part of the chimney bricks to reach the original location that sits low in the chimney and would have been very costly and time consuming, not to mention messy. Mad Hatter's suggested a new damper that sits near the top of the chimney stack that operates via a chain that hangs down to the opening with 3 opening/closing positions. It is Fantastic!!! We did not have to move any bricks or alter the chimney structure. This new damper has several benefits - since it sits high, it discourages critters and birds from falling down, or building nests in the chimney. It allows you to open the damper part way, all the way, or to close completely. We are delighted to say the least. All services were performed at scheduled times, everyone was professional and friendly - and we will definitely be using Mad Hatters again!!!

He showed up on time, politely explained what he was going to do and set about his work. Took about one hour to complete the task and explained to us what he had found and presented an estimate for repairs arranged in priority order. It could not have gone better!

Scheduling took a few weeks and a few phone calls. They swept from the bottom only and didn’t clean up near the top. We were not very impressed with the experience.
