It was fine. I ended up spending around $149 in total.

Just fine. No complaints at all. After years of substandard work and discourteous business dealings by another company, we've used Mad Hatter twice and we'll STAY with them.

Arrived on time, friendly, and did the job quickly.

Responded quickly...scheduled efficiently...arrived a bit late due to traffic (no big deal). The cleaning process lasted about an hour & the technician was professional. Unfortunately, when we built a fire tonight, we checked the flue, looked into the chimney & noticed an abundance of soot (we're talking clumps in sections) still coating the inside of the chimney. We have had our chimney swept every 3-4 years with great results using another chimney sweep. We opted to try Angie's List Big Deal based on The Angie's List reputation, and this was an utter disappointment both by Angie's List and Mad Hatter...shame on you both. If you can' guarantee results, don't offer the deal.

Mad Hatter arrived on time. They had there own ladders and necessary brushes. They went about the project quickly and efficiently First they swept the chimney and evaluated the condition of the brick and cap. One technician was inside the house at the fireplace with a vacuum and broom incase debris fell and there was some but it was quickly cleaned up. Then they moved to the firebox and cleared the flu and brushed up into it. There was a lot of accumulated trash like leaves and bugs . So that alone was worth the cost. They cleaned the grill and grate plus the screens and the glass. They gave me a repair estimate for some of the chimney bricks and a replacement crown. I signed for the work and they left. They were very polite and knowledgeable. I stayed with them most of the time and learned a great deal about my system.

Arrived on time and was very professional. He left the house very clean (not easy for the job being completed). There was a surprise in the chimney and not only did he handle the surprise professionally, but also went on the roof and made sure that no more surprises could make their way into the chimney. We initially used the service because of the discount, but will definitely call next year and gladly pay full price. The Company was recommended by our neighbors several years ago and we wish that the would have called them sooner.

Mad Hatter contacted me the next day to schedule a time for cleaning my chimney. They were on time and very professional. The guy that did the service was efficient, did a nice job of keeping area of house clean during the cleaning, and provided a good evaluation of my service once it was completed. Great deal and highly recommend Mad Hatter.

Arrived early, took less than half an hour.

The gentleman was very nice and efficient. He inspected the chimney and removed creosote deposits. He vacuumed all the debris. The cost was very reasonable compared to the company we used last year.

Words can't express how great the guys (which is a family owned/operated business) at The Mad Hatter are! We have used them on 3 different occasions, and I would NEVER have anyone else work on my chimneys. My first encounter with the company was to reline a very old chimney in a 100 year old house. Most companies said it couldn't be done - but not these guys. They came out, looked things over, and decided it was something they could take care of for us - and they did! We loved the work they did, so when we moved to our next house and needed some masonry work done to correct the drafting of the fire, The Mad Hatter was the only place I called. They sent out their mason, and he and his son worked on our chimney for 3 days without fail. In the end, it corrected our problem, and the work was as we expected and more. And finally, we have used them for a chimney inspection. The guys did a great job fitting us into their busy schedule, and they didn't charge a trip fee because we are repeat customers! These guys will do you right!

They arrived promptly. Worked quickly. Made no mess whatsoever and did a very good job. This is what everyone wants.

Three staffers showed up, on time and ready to go. The entire process took 4-5 hours and the job was well done well. I would use them again in the future. There has been a considerable reduction in dust and particulates on our furniture etc. I think it was money well spent.

Sprayed waterproofing on chimney but missed some. Error was pointed out and fixed.

Called Mad Hatters, they scheduled an appintment time within one week. Crew arrived on time, found problem, explained what it was and what was needed to correct it. Performed service in short time, cleaned areas where they worked. Explained potential problem with chimney chase and provided estimate for that repair. Would definbtiely recommend them for dyrer vent cleanout.

The roads were covered with ice the day they were supposed to come, so we expected a cancellation. When they called about a hour before they were to be here, I understandably expected that they would reschedule; but they just wanted to let us know that the ice would slow them down about thirty minutes...and they showed, and climbed on our roof the ice.

The Mad Hatter Air Duct Cleaning and Chimney Sweeping are good. I need to contact them again soon. They explained every step, what it was they were doing, they explained why they were doing what they were doing. They were closing one are and then cleaning another. They were very thorough and it was nice to understand what they were doing and not just have an idea of it.

There was a crew and the job was due efficientlyt. It involved removing a fireplace insert in one of the fireplaces. They did not make a mess in either site they cleaned.

The initial estimate differed from the materials supplied, but I was eventually satisfied that the quality was equivalent. I would suggest being very specific about the materials to be supplied, and get it in writing if this is important to you, and be there when the work is done. The work was done at the time promised, for the price promised, and was very professionally done. Cleanup was thorough, a not insignificant issue for what could be a messy job. No instructions or operating manual materials were left, and a followup call was required to clarify how to remove the cap and clean the new chimney. Overall, very competent work but a bit less formality and followthrough than I would have preferred.

service was performed quickly and efficiently. No mess was left. He thouroughly explained the issues with the downstairs fireplace (needs new liner) and outside needs a new crown. Stated would write it up and send an estimate on the cost of the repairs. Recieved it about a week later. Very detailed on how it would be done. Have recommended this company to many of my friends.

They were professional, courteous, thorough and punctual. I will use them again!
