Great! Keith is very professional. He worked with our budget and provided what we needed done to the kitchen cabinets in a short time frame so the granite installer could do his job. Keith coordinated every detail of the install. Keith gave us several options for the kitchen island top and we were more than pleased with the finished product. It is gorgeous and we love it. We appreciated the time Keith took to make sure every detail was right and he gave us excellent information on how to care for it.
Description of Work: Leveled kitchen cabinets to prepare for granite countertops, coordinated with the installer to install the countertops. Built cherry wood butcher block top for kitchen island.

Keith was professional, completed the job quickly and made design suggestions that were very helpful. We found the cabinet to be well-made and of higher quality than our original cabinets, yet it still blended in with the existing ones.
Description of Work: We were remodeling our kitchen with new granite countertops and sink. We moved the refrigerator to another part of the kitchen and it created a hole in our layout. Since we couldn't afford new cabinets and were happy with the ones we had, we contacted Keith at Procraft Woodworks. He custom built a base cabinet to match the existing kitchen cabinets. He was able to match the stain perfectly. Keith also helped us design the back of the bar and ordered us the necessary oak plywood and korbels to complete it. His craftsmanship is excellent!

I was worried that my problem was too small for anyone to care about. Keith came by same day we had corresponded by email (late on a Friday afternoon), looked at the problem, smiled a big smile, and came up with a very creative and professional solution to my cabinet and drawer problem, dropped the tailgate on his truck, and did the entire job right in my driveway. Very professionally done. Highly creative solution to a problem that could have cost me big bucks and lots of critical storage space if someone else had done it. Very responsive; highly recommended. Keith will be my go-to guy for any woodworking issues I need in the future.
Description of Work: Helped fit a new, extra deep gas cooktop into a cabinet with underlying drawers built for a smaller cooktop.

I loved using Procraft Woodworks and now trust them enough to do more work for me - larger jobs - in the future.
Description of Work: Keith did some kitchen demo for me. Removed a hanging cabinet over the island, and removed trim from the tops of the cabinets. He did it quickly. Very friendly and reasonably priced. He also gave me an idea of cost for some other projects I would like done. Now I know roughly how much to save, for the next step of the project.

Thank you to the customer for the kind review. This, of course, was not a big job at all. But I took the opportunity to help when I had a couple hours between jobs. Looking forward to working with this customer again in the future.

Keith came out and quoted us a price, told us when he could get to the job and exactly what we could expect time wise. The work was done exactly as quoted and the price even more reasonable than expected

These members (as most Angies List members) were a real pleasure to work with. The challenge for us with this project was to see how cost effectively we could accomplish the redesign and modification goals of the customer. Thanks again!

We've used them and he is excellent. He has great service, he gives good quality workmanship, the guy has a super nice personality. We were well pleased with what he did. He was prompt, delivered on time for a very reasonable price and I can't say anything bad about him. He came here 3 months ago to install the shelves and then came back to take pictures to post on his website and the job was about $7000. W thought the job was very simple.
Description of Work: I used Procraft Woodworks to build 2 massive custom floor-to-ceiling bookcases with matching cabinets underneath them.

We work hard to iron out and convey every detail of every project. When we met with this customer, if I remember correctly, we spent nearly an hour simply talking about the project - listening for what they wanted and offering ideas of what we could do for them. The end result was a beautiful set of book shelves with cabinetry below which compliments and finishes the room beautifully.Thank you to the customer for the opportunity to serve.

Keith came to our home the same week I called. He was very professional and he seemed confident in being able to match our cabinets. We told him we did not want to do an entire renovation in our kitchen and wanted to match the existing doors. I was excited that he had done this type of work(matching existing doors) before and felt that he was the man to hire. We agreed that we also need to add things like new molding etc to give the cabinets a new updated look. We were on a short time limit because we had family coming to town in 6 weeks. Keith was very thorough with assiting us in making this deadline. He brought our cabinets on time but the only issue we had was the new cabinets were too dark and didn't match at all with the existing doors. It was very disapointing to us but we realized that we have a lot of natural light in our kitchen and our cabinet doors were several colors. We gave Keith a cabinet door to match when he stained the new doors and it did match the one he had it just didn't match others when he installed. So we ended up ordering all new cabinet doors. At the end we were upset that we had to pay extra for this but extremely impressed when we received them. Keith did give us a break on the price because this was totally unexpected. My husband and I love our newly updated kitchen and love the work Keith did for us.
Description of Work: We replaced both end cabinets and made one side a pantry and the other a built box for the refigerator. New molding and light rail. reconfigured and expanded island by taking out the back part of the island bringing a longer piece to front and adding stained plywood and corbels.

I must express my many thanks to the member for their kind words and the opportunity to serve them. This job was a challenge due to the lighting and widely varying color of the wood throughout the kitchen. This member was a pleasure to work with.

I looked at Keith's webpage and found exactly what I was looking for. I had him give me an estimate for the job, he took his measurements, and he told me everything that would be involved with the process - which would include having an electrician rewire some outlets and a painter touch up the moldings used. I expected this, so neither were deal-breakers. His fee was well-within my budget, and his completion date was well-within my timeframe. Seven weeks later, the cabinets were installed and the job completed a few days after that. Keith did an absolutely beautiful job, and I am completely happy with the result. I would recommend him to anyone and would definitely use him again.

In May 2011, I started the above remodeling job and called the company that had made the cabinets originally for the house. That company came and out and basically said they no longer did custom jobs but recommended Keith Henschen of Procraft Woodworks for the project. Keith came out to look at the project. After explaining what we were looking for, Keith made several recommendations for the indoor kitchen and our living room mantle area. Next we took him downstairs to a back porch area which looked like a war zone. We explained what we were wanting to do in that area with outdoor kitchen, bar height table and cabinetry. Keith again had some exciting ideas and went home to come up with estimates and more drawings. I have a difficult time visualizing how things will look in my mind and Keith suggested he make some drawings to show me what he envisioned. I was working with an out of town builder who had a project manager overseeing our project. There were no drawings from which Keith could work...everything was a concept. He took our ideas, made drawings for me to visualize what everything would like and brought to fruition a dream I had for six years. He was amazing to work with and on many occasions had to make changes to already constructed cabinets because the project manager was not on the job and/or left out details. Keith was also timely with delivery and installation. On several occasions, the project manager was not available and Keith was able to go forward and make sure the project timeline was not delayed. Keith actually made this project more enjoyable for me because he was professional, personable and a great young man who takes great pride in his work. If I had not been working with Keith, I am certain my project would not have turned out so wonderful.
Description of Work: I began remodeling our home in Tellico Village. We added an outdoor kitchen on our lower porch and added some accent cabinets in the kitchen. I wanted painted cabinets to replace the oven cabinets and the cabinet over the microwave. I was also raising a breakfast bar from seat height to counter height. Keith made the cabinets I needed for the upstairs kitchen and made a new panel to cover the cabinets where the breakfast bar was raised, plus added gorgeous new korbels. He designed & built all the cabinets for the outdoor kitchen in addition to a counter height bar and bar height 8 ft. long table. There was a wooden ceiling and brackets which had to be matched on downstairs outdoor kitchen. Keith designed and built all the cabinets for outdoor kitchen and bar height table. At the last minute, he added a counter-height frame that would hold a granite table top. In our living room, our fireplace mantle shelf was not deep enough and too short compared to the ceiling height. He built an arch for the fireplace, added a wood panel and new mantle shelf that was deeper. Since this was a remodel, the cabinets were already stained and Keith had to match stains both on the kitchen cabinets and living room mantle woodwork. On the panel for the kitchen, the first stain attempt did not match. Keith was more than willing to work with us and stripped and re-stained the panel to perfection. Keith was right on with the other stain matching.

I The first stain color did not match, but Keith did get the color match perfect on the second try. It turned out that the sun had faded the seven year old vanity much more than we initially realized. I am so pleased with the final product, and will hire him again to do the next project. I would recommend him without the slightest reservation.
Description of Work: I had a second sink installed in the master bath, and a new vanity had to to created to match the existing vanity, which was 7 years old.. Keith did an outstanding job perfectly matching the finish, design and overall look of the complete vanity.

I arranged to have Keith Henschen come to the house to give us an estimate for built-in bookshelves. He told me on the phone that the estimate would cost $75, but since I had seen the quality of work on his website, I agreed, since I was pretty sure he was who I wanted for the job. As soon as he walked in the door, he told me our house was too old (built before 1978) for him to work on, because he did not have a lead remediation license. He told me he could build the shelves, but we would have to install them ourselves. Since we wanted a real built-in look with mitered molding, that would not work for us. He said he would do some investigation and get back to us. He then went on to ask me for extensive expert advice on a topic of my profession (which came up in conversation), then went on an anti-government rant, then asked for the $75 check. Months later he mailed us an estimate, along with our $75 back, saying he was returning it because the estimate took so long. By then the job had already been done (to our satisfaction) by someone else.

Again, I must express my sincerest apologies to the member. This incident occurred shortly after the EPA passed the new regulations concerning lead certification. I was unsure of what I could legally do in her home. Since it was built before 1978, I would be required to test for the presence of lead and have the proper lead removal certification (which I did not have) in order do the work within the given parameters of the EPA regulations. Portions of what have been stated are true. I do charge $75; however, it is for the consultation, not the estimate. The extensive expert advice was, in my mind, small talk, and the "anti-governments rant" was my expression of frustrations about the new EPA regulations. I met with the member on the morning of June 15, for about 30-45 minutes. When I discovered her home was constructed pre-1978, I informed her I probably could not perform the work as I normally would. She then told me I should have asked about that before I came out and charged for the consultation. I agreed and immediately waived the $75 fee. Upon concluding our meeting, I did not ask for the $75 dollar check. As she sat down to write a check for $75, I initially refused it because I felt I could not do the job, but she insisted, stating that she still wanted me to give her an estimate. On July 28, (six weeks after the initial visit), I sent the member three things: #1. the estimate for her built-ins #2. a reimbursement check for the $75 and #3. a letter of apology for taking too long. The following is a copy of the letter I sent. July 28, 2010 Dear ******, Please accept my sincerest apologies for taking so long to get you an estimate for the built-in bookcases. I know that even as busy as I have been, there is really no good excuse for this to have taken as long as it has. This is not the standard of my business practices. I always strive to be on time and timely in everything I do. I have enclosed a copy of the estimate for you to look over and either approve or disregard if you have already contracted someone else to do this for you. Along with the estimate I have enclosed a check for $75.00 to return to you the consultation fee. I do not feel as though you received what you paid for; therefore a full refund is due. Again, I apologize for the lack of professionalism and courtesy of promptness in this matter. If there is any way I can be of service to you please let me know. Sincerely, Keith Henschen Procraft Woodworks 865-257-2998 www.procraftwoodworks.com

We moved into a new home and needed some shelves and cabinets installed in an office area. Keith came to our house and was very professional and asked numerous questions to determine exactly what we wanted. When I wasn't sure about a particular item, he would offer alternatives and suggestions. He built the furniture offsite and came and installed it in a few hours. It fit perfectly and was exactly what we wanted - a beautiful and functional addition to our new home. Keith is very knowledgeable and loves his profession. He was careful to clean up his work area. Keith was good to work around our busy schedule for all of his appointments and was very accommodating. I highly recommend his company.
