Action Tree Service did an excellent job for us. We needed some limbs removed from a large oak tree that were hanging over our house. One of the limbs was dead and we were afraid it would blow off in a storm and damage our roof. We got quotes from 3 different tree companies all based on Angie's List reviews. We felt most comfortable with Action - all the companies were comparable in price. Michael came out promptly to do the estimate, then promptly to do the work. Did exactly what we asked and cleaned up very well after the job was done.

Mike and his crew have done several jobs for me and they always do a great job. He stays busy and it may take him a few days to get to you but they know what they're doing and will get the job done.

I am especially impressed with Action in that I contacted them in March 2013 regarding having the work done. The owner came out to look at the trees and advised that I wait until the late Fall/Winter to have the work done. He was concerned since the trees had already started budding out that cutting them would cause damage. He could have gone ahead and given me a quote (like another company). I am impressed and appreciate his professionalism and work ethic. The work was extensive, including trimming four very large trees, and I believe the price was fair for both of us. Based on my personal experience, I would not hesitate to recommend Action.

They did a good job. They completed the work and cleaned up well. They were not the cheapest, but they did a professional job. They even gave me a 5% discount for being an Angie's List member. They are coming back in about a week to do more work.

We have used Action Tree Service in the past on several occasions to either cut down trees or to trim out Bradford Pear trees, and to raise the crown on other trees. The person we have worked with is Mike May. Mike and his team are very professional, efficient, and knowledgeable about trees. They are punctual and keep in touch by cell phone if they are in the field and are very friendly.

They did not perform the work. Price was not reasonable. Chose to go with Lancaster tree service for a more reasonable price and they did an excellent job and were more professional.

I was fairly satisfied with the service except for the grounding of the stump. I called the owner to come back to take care of it but he never did, I had my lawn guys take care of it. Their prices were half of the rest of the companies I called.

My second time using the service. They are well equiped, efficient, and dependable. Got the job done and got out quickly. Would recommend.

They made my tree a lot safer. They cleaned up afterward real well.

It went very well. They communicated well, had a good sense if humor, got there in time, worked hard, and got the job done faster than I expected. They did not hurt anything, not the fence, not the shed. They cleaned up most of the wood chips, too. Very nice guys, hard workers, I recommend them.

We needed a few trees trimmed in our back yard since they had grown out of control. We looked on Angie's list to find recommendations - please note that this provider had recent coupons (seen week of 5/13) on Angie's list but they were no longer being honored by the provider. We had intended on using this towards our budget for the cost of the trimming but were unable to. Lesson learned - before you buy discount coupons, it doesn't hurt to check with the service provider regarding the validity and terms of the Big Deal offers seen on Angie's List. Scott's crew were prompt, efficient and cleaned up all remains from the tree trimming. We are very happy with the outcome.

It went great, The work involved topping and cleaning out of one tree and the cleaning of another. the work was completed in an hour, including the clean up and haul away.

They cut down the large branch and some others that could be problematic in the future. I was happy.

Action lived p to its name - got quick action and good service.

Mike provided an onsite quote the very next day from my call. His service cut down a 70 year old dead Ash tree that required his man to climb the tree and rope down the limbs. All work was performed safely, under adverse weather conditions....It was down right cold..... If I need a tree service in the future, I will call Mike.

I contacted five tree service companies of which Action Tree Svc was one of four respondents. Estimate was requested. Action Tree Service estimate was double that of two of the other companies. Based on cost alone, this was over the top and rejected.

I had one red maple tree that needed to be significantly trimmed. They gave me an affordable estimate and fully explained what they would do.They kept their appointment date, calling me the day before and the day of the work to make sure the date was still acceptable. The crew was very careful while trimming the tree and were very thorough in cleaning up the limbs, etc. I would not hesitate to use them in the future and would recommend them to others as well.

Mike and his crew did an excellent job. The trees I needed cut were very large and difficult to reach. They did the job in a professional and safe manner. They cleaned up all the debris and were very careful to minimize the impact of the equipment on my yard.

The whole process went smoothly.

The highly professional crew of four local men (Mike, Johnny, Joe and Rob) worked well together as a team. The project was completed on time and within budget.

Mr. May promptly returned my initial call and within a few days of the call came to the house to give me an estimate. The estimate was for $875. $775 went to Mr. May and $100 to the person who ground out the tree stump. We agreed on the price and I told Mr. May I had an Angie's List coupon for a 10% discount. The work was scheduled and Mr. May arrived on time and did the work in a professional manner. I was out of town and not able to be present when he did the work. He called me twice while doing the work to ask questions and to advise me that he could not get some of the dead wood from the top center of the dogwood trees because the trees were too high for his hand trimmers and they could not remove the dead wood from their lift bucket without the bucket causing damage to healthy outer limbs. He told me to call him after I saw the work if I had any questions. I did not have his bill with me at the time I spoke to him so I asked him what the charges were so I could put a check in the mail to him. After I returned home I reviewed his invoice and noted he had not given me the 10% Angie's list discount. I called him and he apologized for the oversight and promptly sent me a check for the amount I had overpaid him. I would use Mr. May again.

Michael May, the owner of Action Tree Service was very professional. I called him a few times with questions and to schedule times, etc. and he returned my calls every time within a couple of hours. He arrived at the time and date scheduled and he and his entire crew were courteous, knowledgeable and responsive to any questions I had. There was a small flowering dogwood tree that had been planted the previous year by my daughters as a memorial to my recently deceased wife. It was growing very close to the four large cypress trees and it was in full bloom. I asked that they try to avoid damaging it if at all possible. It was still rather small and it could have been dug up and replanted after the job. Michael said he could do that but it might cause "pot shock" so rather than do that he pointed it out to all of his workers and expressly told them to be very careful. They managed to do all their work without a scratch to the nearby dogwood.
