I have used Clear Choice for years. Last week he came and replaced some plumbing on a toilet for me. I just got new hardwood and he was meticulous about not damaging it in the process. The job was perfect. A few days later (unrelated) my water heater imploded. Charlie was out of town but arranged someone to help me and then called back to check on me more than once. We aren’t friends or socially connected. I thought that was unbelievable. And as for Mark S below, my water heater plus installation was beautifully done but was over 3K from this other company. One of my neighbors recently had this happen at their home and the price was similar with a different plumber. Count your blessings. It’s just more expensive than it was 5 years ago. I don’t think he was ripping you off.

$2285 for a $1100 water heater and he was finished in 4 hours. For many years we have used this plumber. We always thought he was a bit too high on his plumbing prices for labor but our eyes were opened on this last event when we had to replace our water heater. Big mistake! The water heater cost us about $1100.00. If we had gone to Home Depot or Lowe's we would have paid less than $800.00. This plumber's labor was through the roof when you separate out the parts costs. He ripped us for over $700 in labor and was on site for less than 4 hours, a $75 Pressure release valve cost us $350!!. His work is good but he thinks he is a neurosurgeon when it comes to pricing labor. Never again!!

We always give our customers upfront pricing. In this situation, you called us the night before to say you had someone look at your water heater that gave a free screening. At that time, you requested a quote over the phone which we could not give without understanding your specific situation. We never want our customers to be surprised with the cost which is why we always provide the cost upfront and before agreeing to do work. As a professional plumber, you are correct that we don’t purchase our water heaters from Lowes or Home Depot. We order them from where we know we can get replacement parts if needed. I understand that you checked Amazon for pricing parts but we also don’t order our plumbing supplies from Amazon. Initially, you declined the work saying your brother in law would take care of it. However, you called back the next day and said that he couldn’t do the job. After arriving and troubleshooting, I called you and gave you the price upfront of which you verbally agreed to proceed. I am disappointed that you were unhappy with the price and we encourage our customers to get multiple quotes. We take pride in our work and truly care about our customers. We only wish you the very best. We thank you for your trust over the years of doing business with you

Easy to schedule. Arrived punctually. Repaired toilet and both faucets to my satisfaction and cleaned up after he and his assistant. Very polite man. I used him one other time to repair my water heater, and that experience was very good. Very fair pricing.

Description of Work: For many years we have used this plumber. We wanted to purchase one from either Lowes or Home Depot with a military discount but he felt like we would be better off with a water heater from Ferguson's Supply in north Knoxville (Halls). Big mistake! The water heater cost us about $875.00 (had to call Ferguson's to get the price). If we had gone to Home Depot or Lowe's we would have paid less than $500.00. This plumber's labor was through the roof when you separate out the parts costs. He ripped us for over $1,000 in labor and was on site for less than 4 hours. His work is good but he thinks he is a neurosurgeon when it comes to pricing labor. Never again!!

We were unaware that this valued customer felt he overpaid for the work performed. We welcome the opportunity to review the material and labor cost directly with him. We did work for him again later in the year and no concerns were voiced. We stand by our work and encourage our customers to let us know whenever there is a concern. As a licensed and insured plumbing company, customer satisfaction is our priority. We provide a guarantee on materials and labor. While we can't compete with pricing of non licensed and non insured professions, we do set our pricing competitively. Customers be sure to talk openly and honestly with your service providers. We can't address something of which we are unaware.
