They installed it in march of 2012. The installers were very professional. one was the son of the owner. As they were winding down the install. I ask if they did a follow up inspection or service at 6-12 months. The owners son said they did. The unit has preformed very well. Also came with a 10 year warranty from the maker of the unit. So around the 6 months time frame i am waiting for a call for the follow up that was verbally promised. Didn't happen, I figured it might have been they were busy as it was now fall and temps were changing and they get busy during that time. at the 12 months time frame I was still waiting for the call for the follow up. Never got the call. So I called them in March of 2013. Ask them for the follow up appt. Was scheduled then they rescheduled. The Tech that showed up was late. No call that he was running late. When he got to the home he was not prepared to do the service. He was told it was to get a service agreement. Now why would i get a service agreement when they hadn't even followed up on their own installation to check that things were going well. Tech then proceeded to argue with me about this and that they don't do follow ups on installations to check their workmanship. I told him that the Owners son who was one of the techs told me that they do. He called the office. Was told it would cost me 210 to have a service since i didn't have a service agreeement. I had left previous company due having a service contract that they never fulfilled. So i was not ready to sign up for a service agreeement till the company proved to me that they were reliable and consistent. So didn't get the follow up i was told they would do and that they completely didnt listen to what i had to say. Now at the time I was not a member of Angie's list. So all is well and I have used another company to service it. Then on 12/3/2015 American Air calls me wondering if they can service my unit. That they were going back through their records and realized they had not serviced me in over three years. Amazing took three years to find that out. I then told the lady that I was not happy with them. The caller was very pleasant and after explaining my issue with them never following up from the installation. She offered to review it and get with the service manager and call me back. I accepted but didn't expect them to call me back. She told me that it was not in my paperwork for the followup. I told her I was told by the owners son that they would follow up 6-12 months to check out the installation. But they could come out and service it now for 155. I explained to here that i would pay for it since it was promised to me as a not cost follow up. I thought that this family owned business would be better than the larger ones. But they are just as shady as the others out there. Over the last three years this Company has moved out of their home and into an office and have grown. I believe the growth is at the expense of good and honest and reliable business practices. It seems no one in this area seems to want to stand behind their work. I am pleased with the unit that was installed and American Air was the one that recommended the unit to me. They are very knowledgeable about units. But they don't seem to stand by their work.

The product line they carry, the cost and the overall service were excellent. Two workers came out to do the work.

They are very fast when you need them to come out. The guys were friendly enough. I found out afterwards that I could have had the work done for half the price.

I initially had a technician come to troubleshoot why my A/C wasn't working right and was informed that I had no coolant left in my upstairs unit. The tech filed the unit with coolant and told me that my coil was probably leaking. He said he could run a diagnostic test that would confirm the leak but it would cost around $150. He suggested that it was more likely than not leaking and that he would hate to charge me for the test just to confirm what he suspected. BJ was the salesman as well as came to oversee the progress as the job took two full days. When BJ came out to give me options on what I needed to replace the horribly cheap and inefficient units that were installed when the house was built, he was prompt and spent more than an adequate amount of time talking to me about the different options and financing, as well as walked me through what would need to be done both inside and outside. (I had another company come and give me quotes on Carrier brands and they were about $4000 more with the same types of units and comparable work.) He was extremely knowledgeable and understanding. He fielded my many questions while he was there as well as the week following while I was making my mind up on which company to go with and what systems to have installed. He even reduced the price of the install I paid for the earlier service call! This was an incredible gesture and really hooked me on the honesty and integrity of this company. Basically he made it so I didn't pay for the service call because they were coming to take the old units out. I ended up with a complete Trane System that is super quiet and very efficient. Installed a 15 SERE A/C, 95% efficient gas furnace, and 16 SERE A/C and heat pump with an air handler that works amazingly well. The new systems run well and we have had zero issues or problems since installation. We no longer have hot/cold spots in the upstairs and do not even hear the units running while sitting downstairs. During the installation, the techs were very friendly and were nice enough to explain things as they went. I am the type that wants to know whats going on and why etc. The install went well and they worked for two days 8:30-4:30 solid. The only thing that I had issue was with the clean-up. Overall it was good, they just left a few little things around like a few pieces of the furnace exhaust pipe that were cut, some metal duct tape balls and some stuck to spots in the basement with a few other little things. I am super and quot;nit pickyand quot; and do not let this distract from the wonderful and attentive service they provide. I recommend this family company to anyone and everyone. I will use them for any issue's I have in the future. Thank you BJ and American Air, the level of service you provide is rare in today's world.

Met at local warehouse retailer (which enabled me to get a pretty good discount). The sales representative was thorough and used as much techinical information as we wanted to ask about. He knew his stuff. He wanted to fix a few things to do it the and quot;right wayand quot; which caused us to go with them. A date was set just a few days out to install the unit. The install took most of the day, but the installers were polite and courteous and got the job done. Someone came to inspect the job the next day. I noticed a few small things that we're done perfectly, but I was easily able to adjust them (and I'm not handy at all). Overall, a great job. I hope I won't have to replace this unit for a while, but if I did, I wouldn't hestitate to call them again.

Their technician said I had a problem with the 4T that would not allow the freon to be checked, and the coil was leaking. I had another firm over to check the system, and the technician was able to fix it at no cost! I replaced the 2T system.

We were extremely pleased with every aspect - from inquiry to installation to follow up! Would highly recommend without reservation!

Very responsive and pleasant. Got the job done well and quickly. The price seemed a tad on the high side, but not too bad.

Added some new tape but did not fix the root of the problem. Also, they do not ready provide paperwork on service work unless you request it.

I only got a quote from American Air, being that I'm in the middle of a renovation, my contractor had his guys do the work.

.They came out to inspect our unit because it was working properly. The cleaned the coils. Immediately after they left a motor went out on the unit. They returned and replace the unit. These two services cost about $500. The tech topped off the freon that day. Within 2 days the unit was not cooling at all. We called them and the owner came by and said that we had a freon leak. Without our consent he filled the unit with freon and attempted to charge us. We refused to pay since he did not tell us that he was going to add the freon before just doing it. He said it was not economical to find where the leak was and we should just replace the unit which would cost about $3800. We decided to get a second opinion. The local "neighborhood HVAC guy" took a look at our unit and said that it appeared to be working fine, however he did suggest fixing some of the insulation on the unit that was falling apart. He also said that it is very possible that the first guy who topped off the freon may not have done it correctly causing it to leak out. So far the unit has been cooling great and its been about 2 weeks. I feel that American Air seemed more concerned about making a sale than actually helping the customer out. Their guys were very friendly, but they were very young and probably do not have the experience to truly evaluate what is going on with the unit.

These guys are awesome. They conduct themselves as professionals and leave no doubt that they know what they are doing. We had to buy a new HVAC unit and they took their time explaining our options. Never pushy, but very informative. From start to finish they did a very professional install. One point of note ... they were very neatly dressed and not wearing sloppy jeans and tattered shirts. That in itself made us feel better about them coming into our home. I highly recommend them for any HVAC needs that you may have.

I have been doing business with American Air for 8 to 10 years. I knew the company owner, Al Hargis, prior to doing business with him, and I believe that he is an honest man. The minor service to which I refer in this report was done on a 16 year old Bryant (Carrier) unit, the only one of three units that are original at my house. I had Al to replace the other two Bryant units years ago with American Standard units. I spent a fortune over the years keeping the Bryant units running. The only original part of the 16 year old Bryant system is the condensing unit. The Bryant systems were junk. I paid thousands for repair services (at least one service call annually and 2 or 3 calls in some years) to keep the Bryant units operating. I have yet to spend a dime on the American Standard units (one is around 10 years old and another is 6 - 7 years old). I am happy with American Air's service and product quality.

After doing as much research as I had time for and asking for recommendations from friends and neighbors, we decided to hire American Air HVAVC, Inc. We are happy we did! Our air conditioning went out during very hot weather and American Air was here right away. They patiently answered our questions several times during the next few weeks, so we would feel comfortable making this decision. It is a big expense for us and we wanted to be sure we were making the correct choice, in the unit we wanted and the company that was to install it. As we read several times online, the company is just as, or more important, as the units you are buying. The installation went smoothly with Al and sons, BJ and Bret Harjes, and Chris. The ac and heat work great and we look forward to many years of maintenance service from American Air. We are more than satisfied with the price,honesty and reliability of American Air HVAC, Inc.

Two sons of the owner came to the house. They checked the freon level and determined there was none. They filled it up and told me there was clearly a leak, and there was no way to know how long the added freon would last. They then provided me with a lot of information about the options for purchasing a new unit. They were very courteous and knowledgeable about the options for a new unit. They consulted with the office and gave me a quote. I enjoyed the experience. One week later, the A/C was out again. This time I called Malone Heating and Air so I could get another quote on a new unit. Brian called me to meet him at the house. By the time I got there, he had the unit apart and had located the leak. He repaired the leak and refilled the freon for $419.50. After that experience, I felt that I had gotten very poor service from American Air in that they made absolutely no effort to locate the leak.

Al has always responded immediately to our calls if we have a problem. We called him on a Sunday night and told him that the upstairs system was not cooling. (This was the same unit that was almost completely empty of freon two months prior which they came and filled at that time.) His son, BJ, was at our house the next day to see what the problem was. B.J. diagnosed the problem, consulted with his dad (who also came by to check out the issue), and advised my husband and I what we were dealing with, what our options were and the costs associated with each. They took a lot of time answering our questions and addressing our concerns/future plans to sell the house. They won't necessarily be the least expensive but, they will provide a high quality product and exceptional customer service. The work was complete within 4 days of our original call to Al. Both days that they were at my house I had to leave for various reasons and was completely comfortable with them being there.
