I had made an appointment for an early morning slot. I waited for several hours and he never called or showed up. I called him the next day and asked if he was still interested, and he was embarrassed that he had missed the appointment and asked for a re-schedule some time after Dec. 15. I intend to schedule after the holidays, but I was really disappointed. He might turn out to be a great resource, but totally missing the appointment did not make a good first impression.

Mike has done nothing.

I cancelled this order and did not use them. Found someone else to do the work from a personal recommendation. I have communicated this to Angie's List twice now. Please delete Hand Mike's Remodeling as I did not use their services.

The project is not complete.

Mike arrived for his first appointment on time and listened to what we wanted for our Master bathroom renovation. He took measurements. He showed us photos of his cabinets which looked very well made and were cabinets we might like to install. We did not hear from him so we finally called to find out when he would have the rendering for us. We made an appointment. He did not show up for this appointment. We called and left a message wondering where he was. He returned the call and we re-scheduled the appointment. Once again he arrived on time. The rendering was a huge disappointment and not worth $49.00. It did not include any measurements of the cabinets either height or width. He included a hamper cabinet and drawer combination that could not possibly fit where he put it. He did not bring any photos or a sample of his cabinet doors for us to see. We had told him what wood/finish we were looking for so it would have been very helpful for him to do so. Again, he quite probably builds beautiful cabinets and for reasonable prices. He seems to be busy with other jobs. Mike was pleasant. We would want to speak with other homeowners who have used his services and to see his cabinetry before we would order his cabinets and ask him to install.

Mike was totally unreliable with just phone calls and appointments. Returned phone calls days late and always had appointment times and days wrong. I only met with him once. Never received the promised rendering of my kitchen. I had to call him about it multiple times. I actually had scheduled for him to come over and give me an estimate but he had to postpone (11-23-12) and has yet to call me back. Would never go thru the hassel of him actually working for me.

Mike has done several jobs for me and I have always been pleased.

Met Mike at the Williamson County Home Show and asked him to come out and provide and estimate for a kitchen remodel. After meeting with us and discussing our needs, Mike provided an estimate on-site. He invited us to view his work in the area. We were impressed with the work and the favorable comments from the homeowner. We obtained quotes from other company's based in Williamson County and found them to be as much as three times Mike's price! We also hired an interior designer to assist with the project that included the kitchen, dining room, and living areas. Mike worked very well with the designer to make changes as we moved along. Mike builds all wood cabinets in his shop and performs most all of the on-site construction. He uses a licensed electrician who is very efficient. The demo and remodel went as planned. Mike was always easy to reach and responsive. Mike worked with the granite folks and plumber to keep the project on time. At the end of the project Mike met all of our expectations and we are very happy with his work. The best part of this project was the value of the final product. Mike is a small business guy working to make a name and build his business. While the "Handy Mike" name may not impress your Williamson County neighbors, I can assure you his work and price will!

I really wanted to stay with a local company to do some drywall/mold repair and painting of our entire our basement. When I saw all of Handy Mike's wonderful reviews and pleased clients on Angie's list I decided to give him a call. I called and set up a 9:00am appointment with him to stop by and give me an estimate for all of the work. He showed up at 8:00am instead and said that he forgot to take down my number during our phone call and therefore couldn't call me to tell me he was running ahead of schedule. He quoted me $2,000 for all of the work that we needed. We thought that seemed reasonable and booked him for the job. He asked that I text him my address and the date that we agreed on so he could put it in his calendar since he was on a job site so that what I did. When my husband called him in September to talk to him about more details of our project he asked him to come back to our house for one last visit before beginning the project to go over everything once more and to get a written estimate for our records. He agreed on a time and a date but that time and date came and went and Handy Mike never called or texted to let us know that he wouldn't be showing up. It's been a month since that scheduled meeting and it is currently the week that he was supposed to be doing the job and we still have heard nothing from him. Our project has still not been completed and you can imagine our disappointment as we search yet again for someone else to do it. Between the inability to simply take down my phone number, the hour early arrival for the original estimate, not showing at all for an appointment without so much as a phone call or text, and standing us up for the project altogether I would say that Handy Mike is rather unprofessional and not someone that I would recommend calling.

Mike's overall score would be an "A". He knows his reputation depends on the qualily of the work he completes. Handy Mike is mostly a one person operation with a second person to help when he needs another person for the heavy lifting, etc. We really liked that we were dealing with the person actually doing the job and not just estimating the cost. Mike does it all, does it very well and very trust worthy. Handy Mike is who we will call for our next project.

Everything was perfect. From the time Mike and his wife met us at our house through the finishing touches at the end of the project, Mike was there every step of the way. He completely gutted our kitchen and dining room. Mike custom built our new hardwood cabinets, tore out walls, installed all new appliances, counter tops, flooring, fixtures, sinks, lighting, sheet rock, crown molding/trim/base, etc. He basically gave us a brand new kitchen and dining room. As for the price.....extremely fair. Other contractors only wanted to come by, look at the house and then send in a bunch of subs never to return. Not Mike! He was there every day. I have remodeled houses in the past and have never dealt with someone like him. I just can't think of anything negative to say. Well done Mike! We are looking forward to working with you on all of our other projects.

Mike was easily the best bid we received. Not only did he charge us significantly less for labor, he found tile for a much better price so we saved money there too. He installed the tile in the kitchen and bathroom, as well as the bathtub. After we painted the bathroom ceiling and walls, he returned to install fixtures (e.g. towel racks, toilet paper holder). He did great work, was always very pleasant, and extremely helpful. We will definitely use him for our next project and we highly recommend him!

Mike Bedwell of Handy Mikes is a very knowledgeable person and easy to deal with. At this time I have not made a final decison to remodel but will in the very near future

Great!

This job was a huge undertaking that took roughly six days to complete. On one occasion, he wasn't fully satisfied with the way the floor was leveled so he redid it partially which showed me that he truly cares about delivering a fine product. I was not happy with a few tiles he cut and when I pointed them out he promptly removed them and did not grout until I was fully satisfied. I think my shower is beautiful and I am so pleased. He can be a bit messy (tracking tile dust throughout the house) but when I mentioned this to him he corrected the problem with stick down protective plastic. All in all, he's great at what he does and pleasant to have in your home.

Mike is the best! We are so pleased with the service he provided and the excellent quality of his work that we've already talked to him about another project we want him to do. He is truly an artist at what he does. We cannot say enough good things about Mike and highly recommend him. (Of course, we hope that he won't get so busy that he doesn't have time to work for us ;-)! Thank you Mike!

Michael did a wonderful job. Regutted the bathroom, everything new. Even was able to put a linen closet in the bathroom. We are very happy with the end result. Will use him again. Already thinking of what he can do for us next.

I cannot tell you what a job he's done. He's also since done my daughter's kitchen. He did mine from scratch. He gutted the kitchen and replaced the cabinets and granite countertops, he created built-ins for my microwave, and he put in new trim around my windows. He's great. He actually customizes everything. You tell him what you want and he will customize it. He's very affordable; he does great work at low prices. He's just awesome.
