Very well. On time, fully equipped, very professional, very experienced, courteous, very competent in his field, & great to work with throughout the job. He is very adaptable to hidden issues that emerge in the progress of the job. I will hire him again in the future for other work he gave me quotes for. Just amazed at what he got done is the amount of time he worked. And, he stuck to his original quotes as well. You can trust him. Highly recommend.

It went great. Michael Welsh was dependable, professional, easy to get along with, put up with a lot of changes during the remodeling work, suggested some good changes. Michael did excellent work; the new master bathroom looks great and Micheal did it for a very reasonable price.
Description of Work: Remodeled master bathroom: new tile floor, new tile shower, new freestanding bathtub, new sinks and vanities, new lights/mirrors, new sheetrock on some walls. Did plumbing and electrical work required. Did some under pending support work for joists underneath bathroom floors. We wanted our son-in-law to do the tear-out of the old bathroom and do a few other things (that would not affect the work he did) and Michael went along with that.

Wow, I can't say enough about this guy. I knew nothing about Michael and hired him for a very large remodeling job with a deadline that was tight. He showed up everyday and worked reliably and stayed on budget. He hit the deadline and we ended up with a much better remodeling job than I ever expected! One thing I really appreciate is that Mike cares about doing things right. Mike let me know when he ran into something that needed attention. He always gave me several options and, like his original quote, any additions i made were very reasonable. Bottom line is I trust this guy...for a month or so, he was part of the family. I will hire him again for anything I need. If you can get on his schedule, he is worth the wait. Thanks again Mike!

Mr. Welsh has completed work for me in the past and I was very pleased. However, forget about him returning calls or answering emails after the first or second job completed. I have contacted him on several occasions and not heard anything back from him. He will then reply to you about a month to 6 weeks later to apologize for the lack of response due to some other job he was working on. A reply stating that he could not perform the job or a referral to someone else would be nice. For someone who seems professional in person he could at least have the decency to reply to inquiries. I am retracting my A rating I gave him a few years ago,

Description of Work: We contacted Mike to finish a remodel job of our bathroom after a horrible experience with another contractor who after four weeks had only completed a small portion of the job and whose work was marginal at best. Mike came in and pretty much started over. He completed the job in two weeks and produced outstanding results. He showed up on time, always put in a full days work, and was always professional. We are extremely pleased with the job he did and will definitely hire him again for future remodel jobs.

My husband and I had hired a BAD contractor/handyman to do some work on our bathroom. His work went from two weeks to two and half months and still NO bathroom! We were told by several contractors that IF we would have kept that work in - THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS ONE AFTER ANOTHER. Poor workmanship, lied to, and taken for quite a bit of money. Then - - I went on Angie's List and found Mr. Michael Welsh. Mr. Welsh had to start with tearing everything down, and as he did so, he took photos and listed all that was done incorrectly, pointing them out to me as well to assist with any action I might take against Mr. Dalton. He knew what we have been through and helped us every way he could. Then, Mr. Welsh spoke with and worked with the city inspector figuring out what needs to be and should be done. He drew up a design for the inspector to approve for a permit to be issued. The area was prepared, cleaned out, opened up for the plumbers to work, and Mr. Welsh made himself available if the plumbers had questions or needed anything changed. As Mr. Welsh worked, he made sure that everything was protected so nothing else was damaged and each day he kept me informed with what will be accomplished that day and into the week. Before the plumbers came he had everything framed in correctly, walls plumbed so they could see where everything would be placed. Time was not squandered, and Mr. Welsh came back the next day to start sheet rocking the walls, correcting the faulty electrical work, preparing the walls for tiling, putting in the correct shower floor pan, painting the walls. finishing with the tiling, crown molding and baseboard - completing everything ready for the plumbers to come back and do the install. Mr. Welsh finished his last day with taking care of minor things in the bathroom to complete the job. We now have our bathroom back - - thanks to Mr. Welsh!!!
Description of Work: Mr. Welsh was hired to redo the work done by a "BAD" so called licensed contractor. He had to tear down and build up a new shower and toilet area in the master bath.

Description of Work: He said he would come and give me an estimate. He did not show up nor did he call and say he could not come. My time is valuable but I guess he doesn't think so. I don't want someone like this doing any work for me.

Mike completed a tough job and did it very well. He came into the middle of a kitchen remodel after much demo and rough carpentry had already been done and finished it. He was careful around old, delicate fiberboard ceiling tiles, used good judgement and good attention to detail (especially with trim work and cabinet fabrication to match old cabinets), and was very flexible and patient with us. He was professional and responsive throughout. He will be my first choice when it comes to future interior work at my home.
Description of Work: Completed kitchen remodel, electrical upgrades, drywall, trim & finishing, vent hood installation & roof jack, install dishwasher, cabinet fabrication.

Description of Work: Mr Welsh is a very thorough and professional handyman. He came to my home exactly the minute he said he would be there to give me an estimate of the work I needed done. Mr. Welsh removed an old toilet and sink from my half bath. He sent me photos of the further damage he found before he completed the additional work which included a rotten floor and bad plumbing. After completion of the bathroom,he pulled down some old paneling on one of my walls, hyng sheet rock and then painted the walls to match. I would reccommend him and definitely use him again.

Mike was more helpful than I'd expected from the beginning. I needed to replace three doors that were badly damaged, and he was able to explain what that entailed and advise me about various options and costs to help me decide on the details of the job. Once I'd decided, Mike did the purchasing and transporting as well as the installation. Two of the doorframes were not a standard size, so he had to trim the doors to fit. He also instaledl a peephole in one of the exterior doors, and primed and painted all of them. As I was often working in the house at the same time as Mike, I started asking his advice about various other things that needed repairs. In some cases, he was very gracious about advising me about how to fix things myself, and in other cases I asked him to fix them. With almost all of these jobs, I pretty much just showed or explained the problem to him and asked him to make it right, and he took it from there. Every one turned out just perfect. All the work he did was of excellent quality. He's clearly a professional who takes pride in doing a job right. He gave me detailed, itemized estimates and bills, and kept me updated about what was and wasn't finished and his anticipated schedule for remaining work.
Description of Work: I needed to fix up a rental house to get it ready to sell, and I hired Mike to do a few repair jobs that were beyond my expertise, namely, replacing two exterior doors and one interior door, installing new locks, and installing a set of bifold closet doors. He was so helpful (see comments below) that I ended up having him do a number of other jobs for me, including painting shelves, installing base molding and painting a utiltiy room floor, fixing a couple of interior doors that wouldn't close because of warped doorframes, painting a rusted metal ventilation grille, replacing a porch light, remounting an electrical outlet that had broken loose, replacing leaky supply valves for a clothes washer, and clearing the leaves out of the gutters.

Mike was at my house for about 4 and a half hours. He ran into a few problems while installing the dryer, the washer, and installing my dead bolt. I am very glad he was my handyman because I didn't hear him complain and he didn't immediately tell me he couldn't do it.....he just fiqured it out! He worked diligently throughout the entire time - didn't take a break. I had already asked a couple of tradesmen their opinion on how I should get my washer/dryer set up in this small closet and had the electrical outlet moved by an electrician in advance of this. We had all agreed that it would have to be stacked. I'm so glad it didn't have to be! I had no idea (since I had just bought my place) that when he hooked up the washer that there was a bad water leak. No worries...he shut off the water - dryed up the area to protect my hardwood floor, and headed for the hardware store to pick up the supplies needed to fix that problem. Mike went on to install my deadbolt that I had purchased on my wooden front door which has an oval stained glass window. I was concerned about it breaking but he told it should be fine - and it was. He had to shave some of the wood in the jam to make the plate fit - but Mike's forte is carpentry and he made that adjustment quickly. All in all - I was very lucky to have discovered Michael P. Welsh, Remodeling. I do plan to call him in the future for my needed repairs and when I get the money together I plan to call him for an estimate on remodeling my kitchen.
Description of Work: 1. installation of front loading washer and dryer in hall closet with wooden bi-folding doors. 2. installed house numbers. 3. installed dead bolt lock.

He was exceedingly knowledgeable and a highly skilled carpenter. He had great command over a wide variety of tools and was able to think out of the box to solve some geometric limitations/constraints. He was very reasonnable priced, punctual, and respectful of our property and demands on our time and completed the project in time.
Description of Work: Mr. Welsch was contracted to construct built in custom cabnetry/book case-computer desk/armoire. He also constructed cement countertops that turned out just as beautiful as granite at a fraction of the cost.
