This business was recommended to us as being a professional and proficient business in the flooring area. We were thinking about redoing all of our bathrooms, landings, sidewalk and steps, along with some wood flooring with this company. The owner of the company came to our house and from this visit sent us and invoice that did not break down the various costs for labor and materials. We had to ask for this information. This should have been our first that we may not have made the best choice to do this work. Once we receive the itemized invoice, we determined that we would not be able to do with the wood flooring at that time and related this to floor domain. They read did the invoice and we agreed to allow them to start work on the floors inside the house. In one of the bathrooms they discovered that there had been a water leak and the floor was wet and would have to be replaced. We agreed for this to happen. They went out to their truck and came back and said that they had not brought the proper tools that they would need to do this replacement, the main tool being a circular saw. We decided that, rather than hold up the work, we would lend them our personal circular saw. They took this song and completed the work but at some time during this worked managed to cut the cable for the power to the saw in half and they did not in the form of us of this. They put the saw into their truck, I guess, hoping that we would not notice its disappearance and that they would be able to get it repaired without us knowing about their mishap. I saw the saw in their truck, but didn't think that it was our saw. About four days later I needed to use that saw and couldn't find it and called them to find out where the saw was. It was at this point that they confessed to having cut the power cord, blaming his helper, and were going to get it fixed like new and get it back to us as soon as possible. During the period that they were working inside the house putting the ceramic tile down the helper was out on the steps in the sidewalk chipping off the old and tile and cement. They decided to go, without asking, into our garage and use our we lower to blow the concrete dust off of work area. They never told us that they had done this until I looked at the blower one day and noticed that it was covered in cement dust and the fan and interior parts were lined with cement dust. At this time we decided that we did not trust these people and call and cancel the remainder of the work. We had advanced them some funds that were not going to be used because of the cancellation of the work. When I asked Maurice about getting our refund, he said that the only way they refunded forwarded money (and we had paid with a credit card) was to go through the credit card dispute process that is used in banks. When I inquired with our bank on what we would have to do to receive our refund they indicated that we would need a copy of the invoice, a contract and a letter from a similar type business, on their business letterhead indicating that the worker was not done properly. Try as we might we could not get any flooring business to do this, even though some of them looked at the work and admitted that it was not up to their standards. Therefore we lost all the money that we had paid in advance because of the good old boy network, where one craftsman would not say anything bad about another craftsman. We also made a mistake by advancing them any funding. We should have waited until the work was completed before paying the agreed to amount. I would highly recommend that anyone doing business with this company be very careful about the way they do their actual and financial work I could not recommend them to anyone to do any type of work, because their veracity is in question. Description of Work: He replaced some soaked flooring and put ceramic tile in both of our bathrooms and entry door landing. He also chipped the old tile and cement off of the sidewalk leading to our front porch. We would not let him do any more work because of the dishonesty that he showed during the work that he did perform and the method, used to reimburse us (we never have been reimbursed) for the funds that were paid to him in advance.

The owner was good. He was nice and on time. The helper made a few errors, but they were quick to fix everything to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: They tiled the kitchen, breakfast area, and small powder room off of the kitchen.
