The worst bait & switch experience of my life! I'm 57 years old and have owned & operated businesses for my entire adult life so have requested thousands of bids & quotes. I've always had hot water baseboard heating in my homes so never had any previous experience with cleaning air ducts in a hot air system. Bought a small single family ranch as a rental investment & it has a hot air system. Sensed that the pricing of air duct cleaning was shady when I recently received a groupon-like email and 5 of the 10 services were deals for air duct cleaning. Could tell by the deals that all were pricing come-ons that were not prices for the complete package. Selected this company because they seemed to have the most straightforward pricing for vents & returns which was $124. Called to make an appointment & pinned the responder down to quote of probably $50 each for the main heat & return ducts. Just replaced gas burner so no cleaning needed for the blower. Had already removed the 7 vent & 5 return grilles in order to dispose of them and had bought new grilles that would install myself after the cleaning. Expecting pricing of about $250 and fully aware that will probably be high $200's with some unknown extra. Could not believe when quoted $525 to clean only and $740 to clean & disinfect!!! I never take the time to write such an extensive review, but this company should be put out of business.

Scott from ERC called at 2:30 PM to let me know that the 8:00 AM appointment for the next day was postponed because the other customer in the area had cancelled at the last minute and he could not send his guys down for one job. I was never told this was a possibility because I would have gone with someone else. The timing of this clean-out was very important due to other contracted work to come next week. I was assured by the woman making the appointment that coming to the Cape was a non-issue and that they would be there. I pleaded with Scott to reconsider and still have the folks come given the importance of the timing but he just kept saying 'sorry I cannot do it'. The reality is that he could do and he was choosing not to making his issue my issue. I think this is a little short-sighted because he now lost a customer and landed here on Angie's list with and 'F' for failing to have any customer service skills. I took the day off of work and scheduled another service provider for the same day and now I am left to scramble to find someone else because ERC does not care enough to put the customers needs first.

They came when they were supposed to and did the job. There was a coupon, so I never had any idea how much it would cost, and it was very expensive. I had never had my air duct cleaned for 40 years, and I don’t intend to have the air duct cleaned in another 40 years. I would not use them again in the future; I would get some more estimates.

Steve and Eddie showed up on time to the minute. Steve clearly explained the services the company provided and options to consider. He explained the value of each for my particular home and which were unnecessary or not worth it. Once we finalized the work to perform, he and Eddie moved quickly to thoroughly complete the job and then let me review the results. He also explained how often to change the air filters in my heating system and provided guidance on what future maintenance to perform and when.
