We contacted Mike for a quote in Mar 2018, and that process went very well and the communication was timely. We had competing bids, and chose Mike based upon several factors (quality of previous work, knowledge, detail in quote, understanding of expected outcome, feeling of trustworthiness, etc.) Work began in Sept 2018, and overall, it was worth the wait! Mike and his crew: always kept a very clean work space, always trusted their presence in our house when we were not home. The outcome of the project is something we are proud of, and we know Mike is, too. There were a couple of conversations about work orders, but in the end, all costs (to us) were within the allotted overage %. The quote given was very clear about the milestones for payments due, which was very nice. There were a few design ideas that maybe weren't executed to our expectations, but the end result remains that we are completely happy with the work, and if we weren't, we could have talked with Mike about them. The start date of the project was very close to when it was estimated (6 months prior), and the end date of the project was well within reason of the anticipated length of project. All in all, a great experience with Mike and his team and we'd love to have them back for future projects!

Mike and his helper were always timely and friendly and communicated with us well. They covered all areas they walked through to get to the bathroom. When we were at work, we would come home and could not even tell they had been there, until we looked at the bathroom project. He removed a wall which helped enlarge a small bathroom space. He built a custom shower using subway tiles and replaced the flooring and the vanity. Everything looks great! He was very meticulous in all aspects of our project. We are very pleased and hope to use him again in the future! I would recommend him!

Excellent! Mike Ballone is very attention to detail and quality oriented. It may take him a bit longer than others but the end result is worth it. Mike did exactly what he said he would do in his thorough proposal and brought all concerns to my attention immediately and provided ideas for resolution. Mike works on one job at a time so he won't leave you hanging while he goes and finishes or starts somewhere else. Photos in this review show before and after.

Our second renovation experience with Mike and again, he and his crew were professional, meticulous, and reliable as ever! We had the master bathroom renovated this time--the cost of Mike's services and materials was approximately $17,500. The total cost after considering materials and furnishings we provided was around $25,000. Mike provides excellent craftsmanship on nearly all aspects of the renovation, and excellent subcontractors for the aspects that he doesn't personally perform (painting and glass shower enclosure.) All phases usually stay on schedule, aside from those times where grout or other material need another day or two to dry. He's not going to rush it! Which is absolutely the way to do things. Mike makes sure everything is tidied up at the end of the day, respects the rest of the house, and can be trusted (as well as his helpers) to be left to work in the house alone. A major plus! If you are planning a renovation in the future, give Mike a call--I guarantee you will get a prompt and detailed estimate, and a fair price for services performed.

The bathroom remodel and new walk in shower are a dream. Excellent tile work and craftsmanship. It's now a show place The new office is perfect. You would never have known this had been an attic-like area that was 120 degrees in the summer and 40 degrees in the winter. The workmanship is top notch. All work details are in writing in advance with no surprises; however, if you wish to make small changes as the project moves forward, no problem. Although all home projects take longer than expected due to delivery delays or unforeseen snafus, Mike owner of CHS, without fail, communicates daily the status of the project and where he is. When contacted by phone, text, or email, he always answers promptly. He is neat and tidy and very conscientious. We're extremely pleased with all aspects of the work.

Mike did a phenomenal job on our bathroom renovation. Mike was extremely reliable, providing ongoing updates and prompt responses to questions throughout the process. Unlike most contractors, Mike preformed most of the work himself and was meticulous in each phase of the project. I appreciated the fact that Mike was extremely thoughtful in planning of each phase of the project to minimize any inconvenience to us and our daily routine. Mike is very neat and demonstrated regard for our home by prepping and cleaning up the work area each day. It was such a relief to know that the house would be in good condition when I returned home from work in the evening. The only problem I had with the entire project was the shower glass installation. Mike uses Tennessee Glass Co. and the glass enclosure is beautiful; however, the installers did not use protective covering on the floors and I noticed nicks in the hardwood after they completed the work. Mike had nothing to do with this issue and I did not initiate a complaint with the company. Other than that, we love our dream bathroom and would not hesitate to use Mike for future projects.

Mike renovated our guest bathroom and the downstairs powder room--the process went very smoothly, with a great result! Having never been through the renovation process before, I was well pleased with every aspect, from the initial bid and detailed contract, to the final days of the reno. Mike and his crew were punctual, tidy, and meticulous every step of the way. I trusted Mike's judgment on design matters, but also felt free to address concerns if I had any. He was flexible and easy to work with--an excellent first renovation experience! The cost of the services and materials Mike provided was $11,380 (exhaust fan/light combo, baseboards and various building materials included.). The vanities, mirrors, lights, faucets, shower fixtures, toilets, towel racks, cabinet, tile, grout came to about $4000. (Owner provides.). The painting was contracted out and the labor is included in the $11,380; however, the owner chooses and pays for the paint. All in all, a great experience. The only downside is now I'm wanting to have more done and have to go to the back of the line, lol! Respectfully submitted,

Mike did an excellent job remodeling our guest bathroom. He was a perfectionist in preparing and laying all the tile. Mike did a great job on all the other aspects, too: the plumbing, the vanity install, trim, etc. The tub was replaced by a walk in shower. We love how it all turned out. The attached photos don't do the bathroom justice. They are a before and after view. Mike is currently working on remodeling our master bath. We signed the contract before Christmas last year knowing that he would be able to start until mid-summer 2016. It is turning out beautifully - I'll submit a separate review when it's done.
Description of Work: Remodeled a small en suite bathroom 9.5'x5'. Removed existing tub, vanity and tile floor. Mike provided all labor, drywall, subfloor, etc. (hidden materials) We were responsible for buying the new vanity, stone counter, lighting and plumbing hardware (external), all tile, paint and grout.

We hired Mike to do our 20+ year old Master Bath based on the excellent job he did on our guest bathroom last year. We signed the contract last December knowing that he wouldn't be able to start until July. But we were willing to wait because we knew the type of work he does. We purchased the vanities, counter tops, faucets, mirrors, light fixtures, grout, tile and paint. Everything else was covered in Mike's contract. There were some delays due to having to replace damaged items (crack in tub, broken mirror) so the job took longer than expected. Mike was great in trouble shooting issues as they arose and adjusting the timeline. He did a wonderful job on all the tile work and plumbing installations. See attached photos - only one of the "before". We love our new bathroom - Mike did a fantastic job and we are beyond pleased. We would hire him again but everything is now up to date! He has a great personality that is balanced with a high degree of professionalism - a pleasure to work with!

The whole process was fantastic. Mike was very flexible with our plans and was able to adjust both cost and timing based on our decisions. His work was very detail oriented and always high quality. Every night he also ensured the work space was clean and organized, which is a huge testament to the overall excellence in his work. We would gladly call Mike for any other work we need in our home, and would highly recommend him to any of our friends and family.

The job scope entailed: - demo the existing master bath in a 2007 house: remove plastic shower, 6' jacuzzi tub and old tile (vanity & mirror to remain) - remove floor-to-ceiling wall between the old tub/shower - build a knee wall to enable a 5' tub and larger shower, opening up the space - build a bench and storage areas in the shower - tile the floor/shower/walls - install glass wall between the tub/shower, and glass door for the shower - move the pocket closet back wall 2' forward to make the closet usable - install new plumbing fixtures throughout - install new lights/fans (five) - install new TP holder, towel bar, grab bar, robe hooks, and towel rings - paint the walls, ceilings and trim We were impressed with Mike from our initial meeting. He scoped out the space and offered detailed advice on construction and design elements. Quickly provided a Very detailed estimate with clear payment terms. Mike told us he's never had a serious call-back due to quality issues; we could tell he takes a great amount of pride in his work - probably the reason for no call-backs. Mike's focus on the quality of work drove our decision, and now at project end we are happy we went with Complete Home Services. Demolition took one day. Then there was a scope change. Mike discovered the sub-floor needed better support (in the crawl space, for the new tile) and there was a 3" PVC pipe inside the wall (for Radon removal from the crawl space) that nobody knew was there. Those changes added about a week to the project. After change decisions were made, the re-construction happened quickly. Mike was always punctual, showing up at 7:45am each day, and we established a stable work routine. When laborers or subs were needed, Mike took care of all the details with them. But, he did most of the work himself. And, the work progressed well. Whenever there was a question, or a decision needed that involved the homeowners, Mike always asked first instead of making an assumption. We really appreciated this aspect of Mike's work. We were directly involved in the important decisions along the way, instead of walking in a couple days later and saying "why did you do it that way." Net - there was very direct and open line of communication between us throughout the project. The pictures show the before/after views of our bathroom. The glass has not yet been installed (next Wednesday). We decided to post the pics now so you can better see the spaces. There will be a glass wall resting on the knee wall between the tub and shower, and of course a glass door in front of the shower. This was not an easy project. The scope change was a challenge, and Mike worked through it in a very professional manner. The angles/spaces in relation to the 1' x 2' tile we chose required more cuts than would a "square" bathroom. If you closely observe the quality of tile installation, especially the walls and around the window and tub, you will get a feel for how much precision and passion Mike puts into his work. The finished product is beautiful. Finally! +100 and we would not hesitate to hire Mike again on future projects. Best regards, RCB

While Mike oversaw the entire operation and worked on much of it himself, he hired excellent sub-contractors, attended to all my detailed requests, always kept a tidy work site. The project took longer than anticipated, but in the end, he produced a wonderful new space that fits beautifully with the overall design of house and yard.
Description of Work: On the existing site of an old shack free-standing garage dating from the 1930's Mike Ballone built a new 1100 square foot garage complete with extensive storage area and workshop with bathroom. His work included the careful tear down of the old building and the complete construction of the new building.

We originally hired Mike's Complete Home Services company to install tile and a steam generator for a new steam shower, which seemed a relatively straight forward project. We quickly learned that we had water damage in a couple of places requiring repairs outside the scope of the original project. Mike willingly took on these additional repairs and rebuilds to ensure a quality bathroom project even though one of the repairs was in the adjacent master closet and completely unrelated to the bathroom. Once this project was complete, which included removing half of the installed closet cabinet, Mike painted and reinstalled the cabinets giving us a new look to our master closet which was separated from the original project. For the main project for which Complete Home Services was contracted, Mike removed the old shower and found some needed rebuilding was in order to support existing tub and future weight of 3/4 inch heavy glass needed for a steam shower. He then installed natural stone tile, which was a bit of a challenge to work with as it can crumble and break due to imperfections in natural stone. He also installed two "cubbies"/insets in the shower for shampoo, etc which offered him an additional challenge where we provided decorative medallions which were to match the layout of the decorative design for the shower faucet area. In addition, he created a skilled layout for the installation of the rain shower head, speakers and light fixture in the drop down shower ceiling, which he also created out of the original regular ceiling. We added decorative pencil and chair rail trim above and below a small tiled border, which he put together beautifully. Every step of the tile install required careful measuring and attention to detail. An additional 3 paneled tub facade was created to replace the old one panel tub jet access. Mike created 3 separate panels with 2x2 inch tile sheets to fit into this decorative, yet functional covering. These 2x2 inch sheets were centered with surrounding natural stone trim for each panel. Mike coordinated the install of the glass which fit perfectly into the area planned, requiring exactness in the fitting into new tile install area. We also asked Mike to install the new faucets on existing tub and into the new sinks and granite we had installed with a granite company, which were not in the original plan. He willingly spent extra time with our project to install all new faucets and drains so that we didn't have to hire someone else. The steam generator and plumbing aspects were handled with great care even though the original generator had to be returned due to failure to work. Mike had to come to our house additional visits to work through the challenges that were not anticipated with a defective generator. He was able to work through many unexpected items with our home and with the generator, but once a new functional generator was delivered, he was able to install and get everything working just right. We are thoroughly happy and thrilled with our new master bathroom and steam shower. It is exactly as we had wanted and even more beautiful than we had hoped. We would absolutely recommend the Complete Home Services, LLC for any bathroom steam shower installation project to anyone looking for a new master bath with steam shower! We really can't say enough good things about Mike and his company as our project was complicated at times, and we were adding features which he willingly took on. Thank you, Mike Ballone and your Complete Home Services Company, for a fabulous job well done!
Description of Work: Completed two needed repairs from water damage leaks, removed old shower, built missing structural tub/shower supports where needed, tiled entire shower, tub and wall areas, grouted and sealed tile, painted walls and ceiling, installed steam generator and all new faucets, benches, shower hardware, set up shower glass installation.

It could not have gone better. The work was done in a timely manner (even with all the spring rains we experienced) and the results are spectacular. We feel like we have a whole new home on the outside. There were no surprises (except good ones) and the work and workmanship are superior.
Description of Work: We have a two story home that dates from the 1930's. Sometime in the late 1960's aluminum siding was put up on all the exterior parts that were not brick, easily more than a third of the surface .We wanted to remove the tired, aging, worn aluminum siding, but were unsure of what was underneath. CHS removed all the aluminum siding. To our delight we found half timber and stucco. CHS determined that the wood and stucco were generally in good shape. They repaired stucco, built and installed columns and trim on front porch, boxed in all sofits and eaves, replaced all rotted window casings and trim. They also painted the entire exterior including gutters and garage. They installed and painted bead board paneling on walls in a work room attached to the garage.

Mike always showed up when he said he would. He listened to every request and complied happily when we made a few changes. He was neat with his work and persistent in solving a difficult tile job. We really appreciated his work and attention to detail.I'd be happy to provdie pictures of his work. The work did take twice as long as he projected, but we were prepared for it to take a little longer. Mike did all of the work with the exception of building the vanity.

Mike is flexible and works with the homeowner who may wish to make slight modifications during the project. His workmanship is excellent. He keeps a clean work area and comes each day as stated. Because he works alone, projects can take longer than originally estimated. The wait, however, is certainly worth it.
