Yard Dog Fence

I chose Yard Dog because of assurances made when they came out to give me an estimate, including that I would not be charged until they had inspected the fence with me and made sure I was completely satisfied. Their estimate was a little more expensive than the other one that I got, but they promised such good customer service that I chose them. They installed the fence when the temperature had been well below freezing for several days. It looked nice after installation, but there were several places where the fence seemed high to me, stopping an inch or two off the ground, and there was cement left splashed up a few of the posts. I also wanted the gate latch put on the inside of the gate instead of facing the sidewalk. I called to set up the inspection that had been promised and left a voicemail message. A few days later, two workers showed up unannounced first thing in the morning and said they were there to fix the gate latch. I had an early meeting and had to leave. I asked if I could set up another appointment when I could go over all of my questions. They said no, they had to fix the gate latch then. I told them what I wanted -- the latch to be put on the inside -- and then had to leave. I called Yard Dog that morning and spoke with a woman who apologized for the unscheduled visit and promised me that I would be put on the top of the list for "the man who handles all of our inspections" to set up an appointment with me. When I got home, the gate had been taken off and installed backwards, which, granted, did put the latch inside the fence. That was at the end of January. I have not heard anything from Yard Dog since, despite calling and sending email. I'm posting this review in hopes of getting a response so that I can close my account and be done. It's a fine fence and I'm happy to have it, but the customer service since its installation has been baffling.

Working with mike went well. Definitely you should be there when they do the install as hard to communicate locations by phone. Not the cheapest estimate but done correctly. The gates are installed on 6 inch post and are solid as a rock. Really like the quality. If the want a good value as done right would use.

estimator came out, reviewed our needs, and promptly sent back cost. his investigation revealed existing problem that was to be fixed along with scope of their work. Work began on schedule. Rain delays was only major hiccup to finish quickly. Crew worked well together and cleaned up every day.

I contacted 3 recommended Angie's list fencing contractors all of which were professional and came in with similiar bids. I felt that Mike with Yard Dog provided the best overall service and explanations . He was very thorough, listened and provided options for me that I didn't consider. I was originally going to install a 5' tall fence and when I discussed this along with my reasoning, Mike with Yard Dog suggested that for my application it was overkill and I really only needed a 4' fence. After consideration I realized he was right, which saved me substantial $$. He helped me with some added details which I love. Instead of a standard 2" post for the double gate and the sidewalk gate that run along the back of my driveway, we did a 4" post with round finials on top. Additionally we did arched gates. It has a more substantial, elegant look and the additional cost was minimal in the overall cost. The installers were great. They were here when they said they would be. Asked for clarification when they needed it and made sure everything was clean and tidy before they left. It only took 10 days to order and receive the materials and 2 days to install.

Clint, the estimator and gentleman we worked with came to our house three times before we could make up our mind on what we wanted to do. After the fence was up a few boards were dis colored and not at the correct spacing. Clint would not let me pay the balance until it was completely fixed. Very professional and we will use them again,

Found that all fence contractors are slammed with work this time (started looking in June) of year in Nashville so you have to be patient to get their attention and keep it. Went through several before choosing Yard Dog. There were some issues intially on the timing of the installation as well as some installion issues, but in the end the owner came out and we worked through them with fair and positive outcomes. I had to follow up several times to keep the ball moving and see where things are going, but I know the company was stretched thin trying to keep up with all the work. Good for them, but not necessarily good for me. However, they were prompt in returning my requests for updates and were always pleasant. The owner's daughter was our sales agent and she was a pleasure to deal with. As noted, the owner came out himself and addressed the final needed adjustments, so overall we were very happy. They installed the last two missing post caps today, so we are done. I am not sure who is happier us or the dog!

They were amazing. The price was reasonable. They were all very kind and professional. Our fence installation came with some difficulty but they never missed a beat. They were fast and efficient. The finished product is better than we imagined. We would recommend them to anyone. I wish all businesses operated like yard dog fence.

We found Yard Dog at a home show in Nashville, we were thinking of replacing our old fence that was falling apart so we asked them for a consultation. Mike came out to our home, measured our property and gave us a price. Mike did not try to push their most expensive product, he fairly described the pro?s and con?s of the various products that they offered. We had the property surveyed so we could make sure that the new fence would not encroach on our neighbor?s land. We found that we needed to adjust the shape of the fence in order to avoid a problem, despite the major change, they did not increase the price, or charge us for them to come back out and re-measure the new fence line. I was told that the work crew would arrive Monday at aroud 9:00am, they arrived a few minutes before 9 and waited in their truck until 9 to knock on the door. The crew worked incredibly hard and fast. A fence project that would have taken me at least a month of hard work took these three guys only a matter of hours. They finished almost the entire fence in one day. The next day they came back and finished off the fence and cleaned up the yard. I just wish that Yard Dog did more types of work as I would hire them for every project I have.

Brady came out for an estimate. He listened to what I had to say and what my ideas were. He drew up a professional design and gave me an estimate quickly. He worked with me on the price till my idea for my budget. His team came out and completed the fence in just shy of three days. My fence is a four rail wood fence, welded wire in between, and with two large wood gates. The fence turned out so nice that my envious neighbors ordered the exact gate shortly after. Now my cup de sac has three yard dog fences. I would recommend his work and have.

All the work was done in one day. They showed up right when they said they would and we are extremely happy with the work they did.

We had just recently had some repairs completed so the price needed to be fairly low. We had shopped a couple fence companies in the area. This company said they could complete the fence in less than 10 days, which was what we were actually looking for the most. The representative showed up, dressed nice, was very polite and explained how they would build the fence and the material they would use. They even showed us pictures of the projects they had recently completed. The work was done quickly with no problems. Our neighbors are jealous of our new fence! We would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a small business in the area to do your fence.

My experience with Yard Dog was extraordinary, and I would highly encourage anyone looking for fencing in Nashville to call them for a quote. I selected three providers Using Angie's List of similar ratings to provide a quote, I needed approximately 200 feet of fencing constructed on a property I own in Donelson. The difference were significant among the three providers even in their quoting process - one provided a very rudimentary written quote; the other provided a professional quote but his appearance and interaction did not inspire me with confidence; and, Yard Dog who was conspicuously more professional on all fronts. They explained some really important differentiators in how they construct the fence and the materials used, their longevity in business, and that they are licensed and insured - all which was very important to me. He even made a couple very practical recommendations that I would otherwise not have considered that turned out to be a really good idea. And the finished product FAR exceeded my expectations - an absolutely beautiful and perfectly level 6 foot wooden privacy fence. I have used Angie's list for a couple years and never written a recommendation before, but am doing so now because of my positive experience. Hope this helps someone make their purchase decision on fencing, I know I'm very pleased with my experience with Yard Dog, even if it was a funny sounding name...

I initially contacted them by Angie's List email. The email provided a description of the project and pictures. Brady, Project Manager, did promptly reply and provide a number to set up an appointment. I sent a follow up email to let him know my number and that I was an out of town landlord, type of job, and that he could access the property to provide an estimate. After that, there has been no contact from the provider. I believe in being cooperative in the process but I should not have to chase anyone down to hand them my money. So far out of eight emails sent out on Angie's List to get estimates for the project only one provider has been professional enough to follow up, give me the pros and cons of the project, and give me a written estimate for the work. Either the providers are only looking for big money jobs or the fence business is booming in Nashville, TN and surrounding area and they don't need a small project like mine.

I contacted this contractor because I had located their information on google. The google page brought me to their home page and facebook page. I reviewed their pictures and reviews. I am new to angie's list, so I was unable to access this site. Upon calling the Clarksville phone number, I had a scheduled appointment almost immediately. I was happy to set an appointment so promptly. The man that arrived at our residence was very helpful. He provided pictures, descriptions of the work to be performed, a quote, and also the names other fence good companies in the area because we are new to the area. The fence was quoted within out budget. We had a lower quote from a competitor (to remain nameless) but the man that quoted our fence was really the entire reason we went with this company. He provided the time to answer all our questions and concerns and even gave us his card and said to call anytime with any further questions. The work was promised to be completed in 10 days. It was completed in 9. We are extremely pleased with the level of service Yard Dog Fence provided and will be recommending this company to our friends. We asked how we could help their company and they replied " Quality Counts most, but good reviews is was we work towards in our business". So, here we are posting our first review on Angies List. Great responsive service from the estimate to completion. The owner offers military discounts, and I try to support these companies if I can. Initially, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted, and had not put all my ideas together, so the estimate wasn't exactly what we needed. After discussing details that had come up in first estimate, I asked for a second estimate, and they were very accommodating about coming back out. We got all the details ironed out the second time with a very reasonable pric.e

After the materials arrived, David, one of the crew chiefs, called me to tell me they'd be out in the morning. He arrived and we again discussed all my choices to make sure everything was right. His crew worked nonstop for 12 hours that day, then finished the next. I'm picky, so each day I walked around both the inside and outside of the fence to look for issues. There were none. When the fence was finished, all the neighbors and my extended family came over and commented on how nice it looked. The kennel area is perfect and the fence is straight and even. The gates are straight and swing perfectly level. The crew cleaned the entire area, and even removed a pile of branches I'd left in my driveway after the last storm. Mike called to make sure I was happy with everything before I paid. Great experience, fabulous fence. I'd absolutely hire them again.

On August 15 we contracted them to put up a privacy fence and a chain link fence, left on vacation, daughter in law, paid half when started, half when finished. Neighbor called said they were doing a crappy job on the fence. I said I wouldn’t pay them the other check until I am happy. When we got home they didn’t have a privacy fence started yet. After looking at the chain link fence I was angry. They said they had a bad worker and fired him. They came back out and repair the chain link fence, but I’m still totally satisfied. they did a good job on the privacy fence. One of the workers left our hose on for 24 hours, they compensated $50 towards our water bill, but we had to replace the hose too because it was busted.

We were very pleased with the entire process! Within a week after the written quote, the installation began. The entire project was completely done in two days. The installation team consisted of two gentlemen, who were focused on this task and it was obvious they had pride in their work. Mike Casper explained the process from start to finish and answered our questions promptly. Mike's information regarding the quality of the labor and materials was confirmed once the project was complete. We have already shared our positive experience with our co-workers, and one has already scheduled a large fence and deck project with Yard Dog.

Mike, the owner of the company was great! He had a lot of energy and really sold us on using his company. He had a great presentation with pictures as well! We decided to go with the cedar picket and then a privacy fence along the back. We were told there was about a 2 week waiting period until they would be ready to install our fence. It ended up only being about a week, and I got a phone call from a gentleman at 9 pm at night saying there were ready to come do our fence that next morning. He apologized for calling so late, but it wasn't too big of an issue for me. These 3 gentlemen showed up the next morning right on time. They quickly got to work. There was only 1 main problem with them. They spoke very little english! I was told at our appointment with Mike, that they would put up a string right along where they were going to place the fence and check with me to make sure it was going where we wanted. That never happened and before I knew it, all of the posts were in the ground. There were several posts that were not where we wanted them. I just let it slide because I didn't want them to have to redo the work. They put the entire fence up in a day! A few days later, we were outside getting our fence ready to stain and we noticed they had taken all of the extra dirt from putting the posts in the ground and spread it all along the base of the fence(kind of odd). But since they put the dirt there and it had rained, now the lower 1/4 of the fence was all dirty. We had to hand pick up all of that dirt along the fence and then wash the fence before we could even think about staining it. So here we are, picking up all of the dirt by hand and I came across a post that didn't have any concrete along half of it. You could see straight down the post all the way to the bottom of the hole. We called Mike and he got us in contact with a guy and that same day the crew came back out and fixed it. In their broken english, they tried to convince me that water had washed away the concrete that was around the post. The guys that installed the fence were very hard workers, but it just seemed like they were so concerned with getting the fence done as fast as possible so they could move on to the next job. We found quite a few nails scattered all over our driveway, they drove their trailer through wet concrete and left a trail of concrete from the tire down our driveway, footprints of concrete are all over the drive as well, and several other details. I know we got a quality fence and it looks great! We were just less then satisfied with the guys that installed it. I wish that wasn't the case, because Mike and Brady were great and so easy to work with.

well there was a lot of work to do. i needed a fence around the back of my house and then a deck around my swimming pool. i called yard dog fence to give me an estimate on both. a salesman came by and was a very nice man. he showed me pictures of their jobs and what my fence will look like, he also showed me a drawing of what our new deck will look like. the price was good. these guys sent a whole crew and finished our deck and fence in a week. they were funny too, they hung out in the back yard, playing music and enjoying their work while doing a really good job. i highly recommend this company. just a great group of guys.

He called ahead set a time to do the work,showed up on time. He also explained the work to be done and was well informed of the project. It was the easiest thing I've ever had done at my house. They were done in no time. great all around job. I will refer to all my friends.

Mr. Casper arrived when he said he would. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. We found he seemed to be honest and hard working so we decided to go with his company. His crew arrived on time and installed the fence in just a few days. The deck was installed immediately afterward. Also, the deck looks great. It is very nicely done. The guys who built this deck were extremely friendly. They even let us help build part of the deck with the crew, which was fun. The workers had Yard Dog t-shirt and hats. Very professional and polite. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for your neighborly contractor.

I was impressed with initial contact, fencing was done as promised on time however the fence is very rough cut cedar not what i expected for a picket fence. Boards have many splits and knot holes. Crew also did not follow paint directions for fence holes and never filled in dug holes. Gate was installed backward and would not open. Took many calls to get corrected. Tried to have company back to paint fence, was given a quote and contractor kept not showing up when promised. Finally had painting done by another company.
