Overall, the experience was good during the work phase. Rickey was not on-site as much as I would have liked and we experienced some theft from one of his subcontractors. Communication was not always good and several times I had to reach out to him to get details of why nothing was happening (carpet on order, etc.). We definitely had a budget on this job and Rickey was very good about adhering to it. We did go over budget but only because I made some changes to the original plan. However, six months after the work we have experienced water under the garage door due to an incorrect sealant being used (resulting in carpet staining). We also had an electrical fire in our laundry room due to our 220 volt dryer being hooked into a 440 breaker. When the bare wires left in the outlet box caught fire, the breaker was not thrown and flames erupted less than 2 feet from my gas water heater. Fortunately, I was in the room when this occurred and the damage was light. However, I had to pay an additional $560 to an electrician to correct and repair the work Rickey's men had done. I have tried to contact Rickey about this problem and have requested reimbursement but have had no response.
