ORECK CORP

I had gone in and purchased something and paid by check. The same day or two after that I got a call from my bank that my checking account had fraudulent activity on it. The bank said there was such intense activity that they had to shut the account down. I called this Gary the manager at Oreck right away and told him what had happened with my account and that the bank closed the account because of the fraudulent activity. He said don't worry about it because it went through. I told him the payment would not be paid because they froze my account. I said no I really need to pay you so there isn't an issue. Gary the manager from Oreck from the Edina office exact words were "I will be the first to know if the check is not ok and I will call you at that point. This morning I got a call from a credit collection agency. I told the credit reporting agency for Oreck that there was a mistake. I called the store right away, and Gary said there was nothing he could do. He said he didn't say that he would call me if there was a problem. I told him I would like to come in and pay him and he said he couldn't because it was already at a collection agency. It had already been paid through Telecheck. So, he said he couldn't take the money. He gave me some numbers to call Telecheck and some of the numbers were invalid. It said this number is no longer available. I was on the phone for hours to get this corrected. They asked for a reference that was on the collection letter, and it has only been two weeks since I made the purchase, and I have never received a letter. I was waiting on a phone call from Gary to see if the payment went through or not. I talked to the district rep who said there was nothing they could do on my behalf. He said I was on my own. He said good luck and hung up. It never got corrected.
