Feb 2nd The fridge starts ?beeping?. Feb 3rd The electronic pad is not functioning. I called Sears repair. I got an appointment for Feb 5th (not good, but freezer still frozen and fridge still cool/cold). Feb 5th Sears does not show. By this time, the freezer is beginning to thaw. I called ?Applicance Repair? and was quoted a $69.99 service fee to come out. I was also quoted that currently, a 5% discount on the repair and they were waiving the service fee. The technician diagnosed it a as computer board malfunction. They would return Feb 6th to install. I was asked and I wrote a $150 check for deposit that I was assuming was for parts and labor. Feb 6th ?Applicance Repair? installed the computer board. The technician is writing up the ticket, I go over to the fridge and adjust the settings: It does not work. The fact the technician didn?t test the replacement: (Unacceptable) I?m informed the part is under warranty, so they will just ?warranty? it out and bring a replacement the next day. Feb 7th I received a call from ?Appliance Repair? the part couldn?t be found anywhere and it would take most likely, 5 business days to get in. I?m obviously unhappy with this (after all the above), and make the comment ?What choice do I have??. I?m informed by the ?Appliance Repair? technician, ?Well, you could buy a new refrigerator.?: (Unacceptable) Feb 8th I went on-line and purchased the board for my refrigerator from AppliancePartsPros.com. I chose 2 day delivery and received the part Feb 12th.(3 days, blamed on UPS). Feb 16th It has been 6 business days (7 if you count Feb 7th). I installed the board I had purchased (the fridge now works), and Regions Bank stopped payment on the $150 deposit check. Feb 18th ?Appliance Repair? calls. (Unacceptable) 1) If I can get the part (next day delivery, 2 day delivery), so could ?Appliance Repair?. Of course, the shipping is higher and I?ve been quoted a repair cost. 2) ?Appliance Repair has called me from 3 different phone numbers(1 of which I think was the office). If you can afford multiple phone lines, you can afford higher shipping. 3) I was informed ?You could buy a new refrigerator?. This typically is not a viable option. Fixing the refrigerator yourself is a viable option. 4) From Feb 2nd to Feb 18th(I was out of town on the 18th but that was beyond the ?estimated 5 days?) is too long to wait for a repair of an essential item. 5) I feel the company deliberately held back the product since it was optioned to me: ?You could buy a new refrigerator? (plus the fact I was an ?unhappy? customer). 6) I have filed a complaint with Google for promoting this companies listing. (It comes up 1st on a search. 7) I have filed a review with Angie?s List/Nashville.
