In February the box springs broke in several places after just six months of normal use. I contacted the store and was told I would have to submit a letter and a photo to determine if I was eligible to receive a replacement. After following their instructions I was told I was eligible for a replacement box springs ,but I would have to either pay another $55 for pickup of the old and delivery of the new, or bring back the old one myself and pick up the new one. I wrote them a letter saying that it did not seem fair to me that the recipient of defective merchandise should be liable for additional delivery charges, but was told this is their policy. So, buyer beware. The quality of the Serta mattress and box spring was sub par and this store policy leaves something to be desired. I even wrote a letter to the owner since I had gotten no where with the company, and the owner never responded.
Description of Work: I bought a. Mattress and box spring and frame from mattress king last October. The salesman was very friendly, the store was clean and bright. I was looking for an inexpensive mattress and they had one that fit the bill.

AWFUL - Six months after the purchase the box spring broke. I was told to come in to the fill out paperwork, so I made a trip to the store. When I got there they told me I also needed pictures. I went home, took pictures, had them printed and returned about a week later. There was a new worker in the store, the manager had left. It took almost 30 minutes for him to call around and find the forms for me to fill out. I am now two trips, six pictures and more than two hours of my time into the problem. He told me I would get a call in about 48 hours and in another 24 to 48 hours have the replacement. He said they had the box in stock. Well a week later I did get a call telling me from the mfg that the box spring was defective. He called on a Friday and told me to call the store on Monday to arrange delivery. To this point I have been told that this was being cared for, now the surprises start. I called Monday when they opened and was told I had to come in and do paperwork with pictures, blah, blah, blah. I said no that I had already done all that I just needed to arrange delivery. By 3pm on Monday I had not heard from them so I called them back. I was told there is still one more form to sign and that I needed to drive to the store for a third time. I was also told I had to PAY to have the defective bed picked up and the new one delivered. I went nuts and wanted to talk to a manager, he was the manager. I said I wanted to talk to his boss, he said he did not have one. I asked to talk to the owner and was told NO. So I started calling store, found where the owner was and requested to talk to him. I was told I would get a call back and NEVER did. I tried to reach them 25 times and NO ONE would ever call me back or respond. I was then told by the warehouse manger, "Complain if you want to, you can not hurt us". I was also give one more chance to get a replacement for the delivery fee of $ 60.06 and oh by the way, we no longer have your box spring so the replacement will not match the mattress. I said I wanted the entire unit replaced and was told "That is not going to happen". So to get my son off the floor from where he was sleep for the past three weeks, I paid the delivery and had the odd color, sub quality box delivered. The box I got is garbage and not even the quality of the first one. I have again reached out trying to talk to the owner and NO DICE, I can not get a call back or any help.
Description of Work: I purchased two complete beds, frames and headboard, spent $ 1,300.00.

I bought a Serta/Vera Wang mattress from the Mattress King. They are the King of Mattresses but not the king of integrity. I spent about $1900 on the mattress. I thought that Vera Wang was a designer, but turns out it?s Hungarian for terrible mattress. It had a 20-year warranty on it, but it doesn?t matter. Within 9 months, it was sagging pretty badly. I asked them to come out and take a look at the mattress, and they?ve said that they don?t do that. They have a kit that I had to use to take pictures of the mattress to prove that it was sagging. I went down and picked up the kit, which was a wooden square with pieces of string that made an X. After I sent it in, I got a call letting me know that my mattress didn?t qualify for the warranty program. Of course it doesn?t. They totally ripped me off and screwed me. I?ve never had such a terrible problem with a company in my life. I?ll never do business with them again, and I tell everyone I can to stay away from them. Afterward, I went and bought a tempropedic matress and I'm very pleased with it.
