Mar 2013
In early November 2012, at age 75 with 100+ trees in a 1-acre yard, mostly oaks with most leaves still attached, I wanted to replace roof gutters with a "debris-shedding" type. Online and phone research seemed to show this company had a quality product with sensible features, favorable installation ratings, and reportedly impressive warranties. The sales rep was knowledgeable (with years of gutter install experience, including with this company), straightforward, and no sales pressure. He gave me a list of customers and phone numbers and invited me to call some while he went outside to take measurements. I called six, and all were completely satisfied with the product, installation, and performance of the gutters, as well as any follow-up service needed. As announced, on the day before scheduled installation, their box truck arrived, containing their own patented gutter design metal forming machine, and large roll of their heavy gauge (0.032) aluminum. All one-piece seamless gutter runs were produced and left for the install crew, with boxes of fittings and fasteners. The next day the two installers arrived promptly, worked efficiently and professionally until 5 PM, cleaning up all trimming debris. A few days later, a supervisor from the company stopped by and walked around the house, with ladder, inspecting the installation and cleanup adequacy; also asking if we had any complaints or questions. The company has limited lifetime no-clog, paint finish and workmanship warranties; in addition, there's a Good Housekeeping "replacement or refund if defective" limited warranty. We've had no leaves getting into the new gutters, or if they did, they must have been very small and washed out quickly and undetected. Our house is one-story; we needed 164' of gutters, 114' of downspouts, and 2 inside 90-degree miters. We paused a while at the cost, but feel it was justified by the quality of the aluminum, finish, design(no-clog and oversized features especially), workmanship and service. I'm now on the "call an unpaid satisfied customer" list. My wife says I'm now also compliant with the Old Men and Ladders rule: Old men should not climb ladders.
