It went ok. My main grief is what you pay to have the system, it should be done with excellence which I feel did not happen. I will post a photo of an area that is still exposed. It is also not very convenient if you need to have the colars adjusted. I would definitely check out similar fences before going with an invisible fence again.

Description of Work: We had Invisible Fence of Nashville. I had to order my batteries from them that go into their little collars ever so often. I call them on the telephone and order batteries.

Went great! Fence is working perfectly! Everyone I worked with was helpful and polite. I bought a groupon then paid extra to get the fence just where I wanted it. Don't ever pay full price! Ask for a discount/special. Do not pay for extra wire (i.e., fence length) until the installer comes.

It was great. It works very well. Our cat was easily trained and once we had her trained, she never left the yard. I was disappointed in the way they left the yard. When they dug the trench with the wiring, they didn't come back and tap the ground back over the wire and I didn't like that. It took care of itself and after several rains, it kinda closed over itself but until then, it was a bump and things like that. They were really good about showing us how to train our cat. They had good materials to leave with us if we needed to remember what they told us. They had really good telephone support for help. We thought that the wires have been cut because the light wasn't coming on the collar and we did troubleshooting over the phone with them and it turned out that our battery is dead. They do good troubleshooting on the phone. They have a lifetime warranty. If it ever does get cut or stop functioning, they'd fix it with no charge which is great. On the other side of it, the batteries in the dog's collar, they highly recommend that you buy from them because it has an extra seal for moisture or something. It's kind of annoying to me. They were the most expensive but they worked with us.

They did all of this, and the work actually went pretty well. The rub came when we were given consistently different information regarding pricing on potential changes to the original layout, depending with whom we were talking. This became increasingly frustrating to the point that I finally asked to and was given the opportunity to speak with the owner. At this point it all changed. I found him to be a thoughtful and, ultimately, fair individual. In the end, he refunded all of the disputed charges and the situation was resolved. To be fair, we engaged this company to do the work at a local outdoor and garden show. They made a "deal" for us as it was the end of the show and they were wanting to sell their display models, etc. Maybe we got too big a deal and they decided to recoup losses. Maybe they just really had that poor quality inner office communication. I don't know. I do know it was really frustrating. It took me speaking up and pressing my point several times. I don't think that was at all necessary and could have been prevented.
Description of Work: Invisible Fence was contracted to install an electronic perimeter enclosure at our home. In addition, they were to provide collars for our dogs. Lastly, they were to provide training for us as to how we would work with our dogs to prepare them for their new environment. They did all of this, and actually pretty well.

The entire process was painless. I would recommend Invisible Fence Co. to anyone needing an invisible fence. My husband and I have been asking each other "why didn't we do this when we moved in a year ago???". I did read the other review on here and their situation is completely different, but in our case (new fence), we were pleased with this franchise.
Description of Work: We live on an acre lot and wanted the backyard fenced in. After a year of debating, we decided NOT to spend thousands on enclosing it with a physical fence and instead had Invisible Fence Co. come out and give us a price. Many neighbors of ours have used the same system and been pleased. They gave us a quote, we accepted and scheduled that they come out about 10 days later for the installation. They were right on time, installed it within a few hours and then trained with me, my husband and our two dogs for about an hour. I was very impressed with the time they spent with us, as well as the materials and training instructions they left for us. We followed their advice to a t and two weeks later, we have dogs that are fully trained and will not even leave the backyard to chase a deer or rabbitts! At this point in time, I am pleased with the work, the professionalism of the company, and the price. I know it's expensive, but we have heard of horror stories of families installing systems themselves and having training issues. Our price included the collars for both dogs, over .5 acres fenced in and a helpful training session. We also get batteries sent to us for the first year, included in the price.

We still like our Invisible Fence product, but there are other electric fence options out there too. We won't use these franchise owners or refer anyone to them.
Description of Work: We moved to South Tn from another state and brought our invisible fence with us from our old house. The quote from the local Nashville franchise was over $1000 just to lay a line and hook up our existing system. We could have bought an entire system again for that price. We ended up buying the wire at Lowes and installed it in one day ourselves for less than $20. We later needed a new battery for our dog's collar and did not want to drive an hour just for a battery, so we called our 'local' Nashville franchise location to have a battery sent. They wanted to charge nearly $20 just for the shipping cost. That was MORE than the cost of the battery. We asked if that was because it was FedEX and the woman said NO. The cost was $20 PLUS the cost of the battery- just to send it by US post office! WE refused. I guess they thought we had no choice but to buy the battery from them and that we would pay anything for the battery. Wrong again. We bought a few batteries on our next visit back to our previous state and have decided never to give or refer anyone to the Nashville, TN location of Inv. Fence Co. Big financial loss for them, since we live in a new neighborhood with lots of dogs and large lots. Only wrought iron fences are permitted, and many neighbors have open yards instead. Everyone wants to make a profit, but the Nashville, TN franchise owners don't understand the value of referrals. Invisible Fence gives all their franchisees rights to their areas. Too bad that the Nashville franchise thinks they can charge anything to anyone as a result. Bad business.
