+ -1 more1. The initial estimate and explanation of what would be done by the Sales Consultant was excellent. 2. The Installation crew tried to install a different fiberglass material then was contracted (Owens Corning Pink). 3. Resolution of the problem and customer contact by the contractor was poor. I had to make several telephone calls to resolve the matter. The correct fiberglass and amount was installed over a three day period because of the problems described above. The total job should have taken only one day. I rated the overall job as a D because I should not have had to be the one correcting the contractor about which fiberglass material to install.
Description of Work: Installed ventilation baffles and blown-in fiberglass insulation in 3400 square feet of attic space.

+ 0 morePlease read above. This is confusing as they never did the work but people should be aware that they should not believe everything Home Depot tells them .-
Description of Work: On 3/18/11 we signed a contract with Home Depot for windows, siding and gutters. The sales representative walked all around the outside of the house, took measurements, etc. The project supervisor came by a week later to double check all the measurement and go over exactly what was to be done. On April 27th the project supervisor appeared at our door and stated that since we had asbestos shingles on part of the house home depot could not put siding on the house. He stated that the asbestos shingles would have to be removed before home depot could install the siding. When asked why we were not informed of this before he stated that they had always covered asbestos shingles with siding and had in fact just completed a house with asbestos shingles a few weeks before. He stated that there was new management now in home depot and they had told him it was against EPA rules to install siding over asbestos shingles. . Late that afternoon another supervisor called and stated that home depot could not install the siding because of EPA rules and when asked if they could just install the siding over the wood siding he stated that it was against EPA rules to install siding if there was any asbestos shingles on the house and stated that home depot did not remove asbestos shingles. I went to Angie's list and found a company who advertised asbestos removal. When I called them they stated that asbestos shingles should not be removed and could be covered by siding. The next morning I called the EPA office in Washington, DC and the EPA office for Tennessee. Both asked the same question: "Who the heck told you that?" Both offices confirmed what the asbestos removal company told me. This may be a case of discrimination because we have a foreign name and because the new management team had been there for months before they decided to impose this "EPA RULE" on us. Lucky for us the asbestos removal co. also does siding and we are getting our siding , gutters and more for thousands less the the Home Depot price. I would also like to note that Home Depot lied to us on more that one occasion and were very arrogant over their EPA rules - like I was stupid and any fool should know these EPA rules.

+ -1 moreHome Depot hires independent contractors. The guy that put our fence in is no longer working there. We have already had Home Depot out three times to make repairs. They used the wrong nails and concrete. We are now having to fix the mistakes.
Description of Work: We had Home Depot install a fence with two gates around our entire home and our pool. There is probably about a quarter of an acre of land surrounded by this fence. The contractor that installed the fence from Home Depot did not do quality work.
