+ -1 moreThe checking of the heating system took place on an atypically warm day in October, so the attic, where the system is located was over 90 degrees. Because of the heat, the system would only run for 4 minutes and then shut down with an "over heating" error code. The serviceman checked and cleaned everything and then scheduled himself to come back the following week on a cooler day to be assured that the fault was due to the heat in the attic and not a fault in the system. He returned and the system performed perfectly.
Description of Work: I hired Hiller to perform the annual check up of the heating system. When the system was installed, I opted for the annual check up plan and have done so each year since they installed it. Therefore, the cost of check up was included in the annual fee.

+ 0 moreI think I was a victim of fraud, quite frankly, in my opinion. They conned me into changing out a capacitor on my split unit heating and air conditioner by telling me that the capacitor needed to be a 9 ohm capacitor. Then when he showed it to me he didn't realize that I knew something about electronics, and on the case it had stamped 6 ohm capacitor. So after he left I contacted the manufacturer directly and found out that the manufacturer's engineers put a 6 ohm capacitor on the unit and that's what they wanted. But this guy said that I needed a 9 just so he could get me to buy a capacitor that I didn't need. So I was really angry.

Description of Work: They just performed a thorough systems check on my a/c. He checked the Freon and cleaned the system. I have an annual contract with the company . I just pay for parts and labor.

Description of Work: They replaced my kitchen faucet and hose under the sink. There was a leak under my kitchen sink that rotted out the wood under the cabinet.

+ -1 moreAs far as maintenance, pretty much it's been Hiller. The cost is part of our annual bundling. They charge you a set fee and then they come out and do an HVAC tune-up and a plumbing check and electrical inspection. Those services are kind of spread out a little bit. They've always been good about showing up when they promise and everything, so it's fine. For price, probably a B. This thing is reasonable, but if you ever do need additional work I feel like they're a little pricier than some. They do a good job. I don't think we've had any problems getting them out here. They're a big company and they're responsive. You can get them if you need them.

+ -1 moreI would use them again because I have a warranty with them. They are about as good as anybody. Make sure to get a clear understanding of what work is going to be performed. It took them two days to complete the work. The workers were fine. They were average workers. They left the area they were working in not an A but not a C either.

Description of Work: Hiller plumbing removed old & installed all new plumbing in our home 2 years ago. They accidentally unplugged our freezer. I lost the last of my deceased mother's freezer jams. Not only did the workers apologize profusely, the next day a manager came and apologized too. He had a sincerely handwritten apology from his boss attached to a wrapped bucket full of assorted jams, and 2 gift certificates to 2 restaurants.The new plumbing and installed appliances have worked wonderfully. So....when a storm came thru, and a tree fell this past month on 7.8.16 and ripped out our electrical power line and bent the outside pipe to our home, we called them. Two brothers who were electricians arrived. They contacted our power company and insisted they come back and remove the lock that a previous worker had NOT removed. They purchased supplies, replaced the pipe and rewired. They contacted the power company again to advised their job was done and come restore our power that night. By 1am we had power. Plus we lost very little out of our freezer and refrigerator, since the power had been out 9 hours. Had their workers not have been so dedicated to giving good service, it would have been later the following day when power would have been restored. We could only reach an automated system at our power company. My husband has a medical condition that heat worsens. While our power company may not care during a major outage, this company does. Our insurance adjuster said the price that was billed, was extremely fair for an after hours emergency call, and the work was done well, even in the dark of night. We will continue to rely on them, as they really aim to satisfy their customers.

+ -1 moreThe price was a little steep because I already had the parts. They just came and provide the labor. It took them about 15 minutes. I would use them again because I am a member of the Hiller Club so I still have some service with them.

+ -1 moreThe install went great. The electrician installed a GFCI outlet in a closet and also installed a whole house surge protector in the electrical panel box. The electrician took time to explain the surge protector, and showed how to test the GFCI outlet with the test/reset buttons. I would definitely call the service provider again for any future electrical work.
