They got the wrong type of wood and they had assured me that they had got the right kind but it didn't look like my old railing. They also painted it and it just looks horrible. We had a discussion about it and I had to go ahead and pay even though I wasn't satisfied. The railing I had before I had for several years so this railing shouldn't look as bad as it does only being about 4 years old. They are severely cracked.

He did a fine job and was very professional, but I feel I paid too much. I had to pay an additional $90 for the added work. I bought it 12/30 and didn't hear from them until 1/3. Very punctual.

On time. Work performed professionally and I would certainly hire again.

They had to come back and redo one because the light fixture fell out of the ceiling. They could have come out the first time they were supposed to be here and so I called them to see what happened and they and they forgot about and then the next time they said the person who was suppose to come out got sick. They third time thy came out and they could have been on time. The only reason why I wouldn't use them back in the future is the cost was a little high. It was for two rooms, a hall and stairs.

Workman arrived on time, with a sunny attitude, and was quickly able to resolve the matter.

I think we went over in time a little bit so I think we paid a little extra. It was very reasonable service at a very reasonable price.

I purchased a deal on Angie's list for a handyman. In setting up the visit I said that I had two walls that needed dry wall repair, a ceiling fan replaced, and a floodlight that I thought had been hit by a branch in a storm and shattered that I wanted looked at to see if it was damaged. The individual they sent to do the work informed me that he doesn't do drywall. When I showed him the flood light he said he didn't bring a ladder that would reach it (1 1/2 stories). Luckily I had a ladder and fortunately some shelves were delivered to my house the night before so I could get those items done. The worker was able to do the items he had the knowledge to do, but I was disappointed that I couldn't get the main thing I wanted done (the drywall repair). I also thought the price was more than expected (I purchased the new fan myself).

I wouldn't hire them again because they were very expensive. That deal was just a kind of get the work on but they charged me over $125 an hour.

Scott was extremely efficient, confident and worked with precision and patience. The ease of his personality gave me complete trust he could fix or do anything!

They were very quick and very, very professional. The price was very good as it was part of a coupon offer; I highly recommend them.

We had bought best-quality dryer vent hose, but he bought and used less-durable materials. He did the work OK, but it took hours longer than I thought it would, and all work involved a great deal of yelling between the handyman and his assistant. Also, he had no tools (not even a flashlight) and had to borrow ours, which he left out in the rain when he was finished. The company assured me that finding someone in my area would not be a problem, but they did not start to work on it until the morning of the appointment. They never called me, or called back. I had to initiate all communication.

In a recurring theme with a few other reviews here, we had a terrible experience with a Groupon deal (8 hours of work for $149) with this company. We had Handyman Connection come to our house to paint a stairwell. Unfortunately, the following issues are what we received: 1.) They splotched beige paint along the ceiling in my stairway and adjoining bonus room, which required the painting of our ceiling. 2.) They smudged beige paint along the trimwork in my hall way, which required that our trimwork be repainted. 3.) There are other places, where they didn't even get close to the trimwork when they cut in, which left whole strips unpainted. 4.) They dripped and smudged both white paint and beige paint on the wood floor in our entry way. 5.) They overloaded the paint roller, which left thick globs of paint at the end of their strokes. These globs of paint are bubbled and dripping, which, once dried, required that those areas be sanded down and repainted. 6.) They dropped chunks of drywall all over the carpet and entry way of our home, because they used a dirty tarp that had not been cleaned. The contractors that were sent to our home did not seem to have over 10 years of experience, as claimed. And they certainly didn't have the right equipment (extension ladders, extension rollers). When we contacted Handyman connection to claim the 100% satisfaction guarantee, they came out to inspect the work. The owner claimed we had gotten 16 hours of work instead of 8, because THEY sent 2 workers. They offered to clean up the drips and smudges but then said we'd have to pay $80 per hour (with an estimate of 8-10 hours) to fix the rest of the damage. That's frustrating enough, but when we got quotes from other painting professionals to come out and fix the ceiling and trim, sand down the debris and bubbles in our walls and repaint, NONE of the quotes were even close to the $800-1000 that they quoted. (At most the quotes were half of that, including supply costs, which were NOT included in the HC estimates.) We have since had one of the other (highly-rated on Angies' list) companies come out to repair the damage done to our home, since we expected a houseful of people the next week for the holiday. I would not recommend Handyman Connection, especially with a Groupon or other sort of deal-- you'll get what you paid for, which in our case wasn't much.

The job was done quickly. The craftsman, Mickey, was professional and friendly. I would definitely ask for him again.

I purchased a Living Social deal for $99 of handyman service for $50 for a job anyone that knows how to use a miter saw could do in no more than an hour. I knew I might be charged a little over the $99 value that I had purchased, but the estimate was $276! and that was befoe purchasing any materials. That price was completely outrageous for the level of effort and time needed for the job. I expressed this to the technician and he just looked at me with a blank stare. I told him that I would not be allowing him to do the work. I contacted the company the following day and as of yet have received no response. I would NEVER hire this company or recommend them to anyone else. This was a costly $50 mistake.

THIS COMPANY IS THE REASON PEOPLE HATE CONTRACTORS!!! I purchased a Groupon for 8 hours of handyman services from Handyman Connection. The guy who came out brought a helper and the two of them took turns pressure washing my deck. The helper left cigarette butts laying on the window sill and when my wife came home, our swimming pool ping pong table was broken. When I asked the contractor about it, he became very defensive and offered to further damage the table with the pressure washer to show me how he couldn't have done it. He then reminded me of what a great deal I was getting and how he could have ripped me off. I ended up apologizing for accusing him of the damage because of the way he was acting (although I was really just asking about it) and he calmed down and went back to work. However, when he had me sign off on the bill and pay him, he told me he undercharged me by about $2000 and I was getting quite a deal. When he left, I walked around to the back of the garage to check out the job and noticed there was now stain splashed on my already broken ping pong table. At this point I called the owner and he said he would come evaluate the incident. He showed up and before he even took a good look said he didn't know how stain could have ended up on the ping pong table. We had to line up the table to the line of stain in the grass to show him how it landed--it was like playing CSI, and he really didn't seem to want to hear what we were saying. I told him about the way the contractor acted and he stated that the contractor was Greek and so that's just how he was. For the next week I played phone tag with the owner, and when he called me today, he told me that he had no way of knowing who was responsible for the ping pong table damage but he was "willing to give me the benefit of the doubt." THEN, he said he looked over the labor cost of the contractor and the 4 other people he brought out and said that I owed him another $1380 for the job that had been done and paid for already based on a signed estimate, and that he would take the cost of the ping pong table off of that. Not only am I never, ever hiring this company again, I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. PS On the other hand, Groupon was fabulous and refunded the purchase of this really crappy groupon for us and apologized for our bad experience.

Most of the time I have used their service it has turned out okay. I haven’t used them for any moderate projects.

Their service was absolutely incredible. I found one particular handymen through service that I now use exclusively; Lewis Hergert. He is a great friend and handyman. I trust him with my life. I went to buy a toilet that he was going to install for me. I was hit head on by a kid. When he heard that I was going to be hospitalized he drove back to the hospital to rescue me.

Their service was fine. They did a very nice job.

The handiman explained I would need to replace the faucet and supply lines. I had a Groupon that was good for $100 worth of work. I expected that the Groupon should just about cover the job. The estimate he gave me for the labor,however, was between 70 and 111 dollars after the Groupon discount--the first red flag. He was telling me essentially that it would cost 170-$211 to replace a simple faucet. I didn't grumble , since I just wanted to get the job done. Next red flag: he told me that I would need to go to Lowes and get the parts myself and that he would wait at the house. I suggested that he go with me to make sure that I got the right parts. He said that it was a simple thing and I could do it myself. I wrote down exactly what parts he told me to ask for and went. Looking back, any handiman worth his salt would go with the client or at least remove the old parts to carry along as a model. I ended up getting the wrong parts from Lowes not once but THREE TIMES although each time, I read exactly what he had had me write down.It turned out that there were different sizes for the parts that the handiman failed to mention. I had to drive to Lowe's a total of 3 times, each time with new, more specific instructions. Finally, he got the job done and billed me for $110, $1 short of his ceiling estimate. I asked him if he was charging me the maximum because of the time it took to do the job (which was his fault) and he said no and said something about the faucet being tight or some such nonsense. I paid the bill but immediately called the company to complain. I was told that I would get a call from the head of the compan the next day. Of course, no call. I called the following day and got the boss on the phone, but he was defensive.

they came in, diagnosed the problem and installed new switches. Good job overall.

The man that came out is Bruce. He was really good. He showed up on time when he said he would come. He was very polite. He got the work done very well and very quickly. When he came, he couldn't get the faucet to install and I had to leave for work and so he said he would come back later that evening on his way home and he would fix it and he came about 6:30 and fixed it. It was perfect after that. His quality of work was perfect. I still have some handyman stuffs to be done at my house and I am going to call him again for those works.

The guy who runs the company was okay. I think he kind of hires subcontractors and didn’t tell me that. He came in to do some work and he did okay but not great, but when he got the subcontractor over here, he did a good job. I think he could have been just a little more honest at that point. The job turned out well. I would not use them in the future.

It worked out okay but there was a problem with the ceiling. They were trying to beat some sort of a deadline and the ceiling ended up being a little sloppy. Water doesn't drain out of that shower very well, but other than that it was fine. The guy that came to give the original estimate worked out fine, but I think it was his stepbrother that worked with him and he didn't work out fine. It was a major job. They had to rip out the old and also jackhammer the floor, which is the reason I don't think it planes well. The tile was done perfect and I have no problem with the work they did on the tile. He was a really nice young man and I really liked him. The price was a little high, but there was a guarantee on it for a year and I trust that they meant what they said. I've had several conversations with the company themselves and they could not have been nicer. They were very cooperative and they cleaned up after themselves. They were always on time and they were excellent.

They painted the whole inside of the house and the job done was fine. Initially I liked them because the contractor was responsible. However, he wasn't responsible when I hired him after that on his own. I paid him for the whole job and he never finished it. The quality of work was good. I wouldn't use their services in the future.

The Handyman Connection contractor, Mr. Mark Civils, was professional, easy to work with, dedicated to my satisfaction and very knowledgeable in his craft. He assisted me to select the tile and transport the materials back to my home. He was very careful to protect my property and kept a potentially messy job relatively clean. His quality of workmanship was quite good. He knew exactly what needed to be done and how to do it. He continued to work at the job until it was completed to his satisfaction and to mine.
