Services we offer
FoamWorx, Inc. is a spray foam insulation contractor specializing in the application of spray foam on residential (new and existing) and commercial projects. We offer open cell and closed cell spray foam, air sealing, sealed crawlspaces, and hybrid insulation systems (combination of foam, cellulose, and fiberglass). We spray only ICC-ES approved products and are certified applicators of those products. All insulation systems are e-star compliant.
We had foam sprayed in the ceiling of a garage and fiberglass insulation installed in the floor area of a crawl space of a house. These people deliver! They are professional, knowledgable, very tidy, and very pleasant too. We expect to call FoamWorx again for future building projects. Cost is approximate - sprayed foam is never inexpensive but it was worth it.

They were quick and prompt throughout the process. They even called with a spot that freed up from a cancellation and asked if I wanted them to come out to take care of the repairs.

It went very well and the company was good about working with me in an attic that was being used for storage and that I was trying to renovate. they did it in two stages, between which I moved stuff around and put flooring under the eves.

Description of Work: Josh of FOAMWORX was recommended buy a builder I was working with for my new home. The builder decided he did not want my project and notified me and the subs with a text message. However, we had already talked to several subcontractors; Josh of FOAMWORX completed the bid and sent it directly to me instead of the builder. I have to say that of 4 other contractors, FOAMWORX was the only one to do this. two of the others even threw their bids in the trash rather than complete them. |Customer service and follow-through does not appear to be the norm for this area; I am happy to say FOAMWORX is the exception. |I have requested my new builder give FOAMWORX and their estimate a serious consideration when they are pricing the home.

Foamworx spayed the perimeter walls of my crawlspace to seal the encapsulation job done in my crawlspace. (During the installation, foam was coming through my dining room floor, which should have been my first sign of trouble. ) They were instructed on the day of installation to leave an inspection strip of six inches below the floor boards so the pest company would maintain my termite letter. They did not leave the strip, but spay foamed right up to the floor boards. First problem. When I had the pest company come out to look, they said that they could not maintain my termite letter (as I suspected) and they gave me an estimate for removing the spray foam. I contacted Josh and told him abut this. He responded and said he was sorry about the miscommunication, and that they would have someone out ASAP to remove the foam. That was on July 28. Three months have passed, and they have not shown up, despite my emails, and their apologies. No show. No inspection strip. Problem two. Not long after the job was done, my house started having a very strong smell. Pungent...very similar to cat pee. I had the encapsulation company come out several times to investigate. They tried numerous ways to get rid of the smell, but culd not determine where it was coming from. They had the vapor barrier tested to make sure it wasn't off-gassing. They installed fans and a radon-type ventilation system to remove soil gas. Nothing helped. Finally I started doing my own research, and discovered that if spray foam is installed improperly, it can give off a strong pungent odor, like "fish or cat pee". Problem Three. I emailed Josh again. No response at all. My house smells terrible. I have canceled dinner parties because it's so bad. This has been the WORST customer service, and an AWFUL job of installation. I now have another company coming over today to help me. Called them yesterday, and they're coming out today. (The Healthy Home Store...). Avoid Foamworx at all costs!!

Response from FoamWorx, Inc.
In response to the three issues stated above: Problem One: there was a miscommunication somewhere about leaving the termite strip, either between [Removed members name] and our sales person or between our sales person and the crew installing the spray foam. We told [Removed members name] that we would remove the foam and accept responsibility for the miscommunication. Problem Two: We sent guys back out to remove foam in order for the pest company to honor their termite letter. It did take longer than expected to get guys out to perform the work due to our work load at the time. However, we had not received any payment for the job and did not know that it was a pressing issue to resolve. Problem Three: [Removed members name] indicated in an email that her house had a strong odor that she thought was coming from the crawlspace. We responded to her email by sending out the sales person that sold the job to inspect the foam and collect samples. After seeing that the foam installed was done so correctly, we followed up with an email letting her know that the foam was installed correctly and that it was not the source of the odor. [Removed members name] did not agree with this, so the owner of FoamWorx, Josh Nash, went to inspect the job himself. Once Josh had inspected the job and was certain that the foam was not the source of the odor, we responded with another email. Again, [Removed members name] did not agree and wanted another opinion before paying FoamWorx for the job. FoamWorx arranged for a technical representative from Covestro, the foam manufacturer, to do an inspection and gather samples. Due to the logistics of this, it was a few weeks before the representative was able to do the inspection, where he confirmed that the spray foam was installed correctly and was not the source of the odor. There were also several other factors that were not mentioned above: the inspection strip was not confirmed in an email or any form of writing and is not always needed for a crawlspace, the crawlspace was inaccessible in a rear portion of the house where there was no vapor barrier or foam to completely seal the area, there was a dehumidifier in the crawlspace (installed by another company) that drained water into a pit in the crawlspace under the vapor barrier. FoamWorx values customer satisfaction on every job, if there is a miscommunication or we fall short of expectations in any way, we will always do our best to resolve the problem.

Response from FoamWorx, Inc.
I apologize I am just now responding to your review. I did not see the notification email about a new review and just saw this today as I was logged in to our account. Our system shows that an estimate was generated the week of the initial consultation. We have checked back through emails and it appears that we failed to send the estimate on to your email after it was created. We sincerely apologize and it is in no way our intent to neglect our clients. Periodically, we check in with potential customers and leads if we have not heard back from them, but we do not have a standard on the timing of this. During summer everyone’s schedule get more hectic and our work load increases, so I’m sure we haven’t followed up with every lead as well as we could have. This is in no way an excuse for our error, but we just hope you understand that this was an honest mistake and was not intentional. We are always trying to find ways to improve our business and overall customer service. We will use this incident as a learning tool to always make sure we follow up on estimates after they are generated. Feel free to contact us with additional questions or concerns.

I can't express what a pleasure it was to work with Foamworx. We are DIY-ers by necessity, and we occupy the house that needed to be insulated. It is a "story-and-a-half" 90-yr-old bungalow, meaning the attic space is tall enough to use as living space and had originally been finished as one open space with tounge-and-grove "box-car"-siding on walls and ceiling. It had been divided into rooms for my children three decades ago, and since reverted mostly to storage again. Behind the siding and ceiling was ancient loose cellulose insulation, really nasty with coal soot and roofing debris. First I moved as much storage "stuff" to the center and closet of the attic as I could and cut minimal holes in the paneling. Then Foamworx came out with their huge vacuum and removed all the insulation from behind the paneling that they could. One man even crawled through the area under the peak with the vacuum hose. This made it so much less Awful for me to rip out the wood! After the paneling was removed, I moved all the "stuff" to one side of the attic and Foamworx came out and sprayed the empty side. I then placed flooring under the eves on both sides and moved all my stuff to the sprayed side, and contacted Foamworx again. They then came out and completed the project by spraying the other side. This took place over several months as I have lots of demands on my life and only so much energy for heavy-duty projects. Foamworx invoiced me individually for each visit, which was fine, and still came out to the original estimate. Foamworks was easy to communicate with and always showed up when they said they would. I just don't know any other way we could have done this, and I am so grateful to Bobby Nash and the crews for working with us! And the insulation makes an amazing difference in temperature and sound! I look forward to completing the project of restoring this part of the house to a quiet and comfortable living space.

They did a great job and were easy to work with. The builder we used made a number of framing mistakes but we didn't find out until after the insulation was already sprayed in. Foamworx was able to do the touch-ups with just a day's notice. Their staff was clean-cut, polite, , didn't get in the way of other workers on the site. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing spray foam insulation. And we will use them again as we convert our home's attic to the spray foam insulation. That's the really best metric for any company: would you use them again? In this case, absolutely.
