State Farm Insurance issued a check to Exterior Energy Solutions back in Dec 19, 2014. They kept promising to fix the roof and it was always one excuse after another. First, it was too cold. Then they were backlogged, then my file got lost and was with the complete stack, and then the manager quit etc etc. After months of dealing with their lies I cancelled and requested a full refund. Here we are Oct 31, 2016 and they still have not given me my refund. Just like their promises to fix my roof they promised to send me my refund. Then when I didn't receive it on the date they said I would get it they said that it was sent to the wrong address. Then they said they couldn't reissue until a week, then it was two weeks then three weeks. Then they couldn't do it because there was a death in the family. Then he couldn't send a check because Al Hartless the owner got sick. Then they just stopped answering my calls and giving excuses and still no check.

The company did shoddy work, requiring us to remove both skylights (south side) due to leaks AFTER company re-shingled roof. The company did not replace the roofing on our back porch which is attached to our house and is a part of the roof system. Leaks also occurred there after work commenced on roof. We tried to communicate this to non-English speaking laborers - that the porch had to be roofed prior to re-shingling the roof on the main structure. I would have gladly paid for this rather than experience leaks after the job was "complete". I will still pay them to properly re-cover the low-pitched porch roof at a reasonable charge.

On June 15th 2015 their representative Jason Bowers came by my house to pick up an Insurance check in the amount of $4,260.60 to install a new Roof on my house in Nashville TN on 8-13-2015 . Well 8-13-2015 and no contact from the above contractor . I had to track them down thru various phone calls . I finally got in touch with Jason Bowers again . He assured my it was a scheduling problem and they would be out on 10-25-2015 to install my new roof. Well , 10-20-2015 and no one shows up and no contact. I tried several phone numbers can leave messages and no one answers the phone . I finally got in touch with the Gen Mgr. Michael Scott . He assured me it was weather related issues and new office management , a lot of different excuses to why no one calls or shows up . I told him my roof was starting to leak in the house now . He assured me someone would be right out with tarps to put on my roof until they could get there on 11-25-2015 to install my new roof . Well, no one came out with tarps , NO one showed up or called on 11-25-2015. I finally track down Micheal Scott again . This time I ask for the return of my money so i can get a roof installed . Now hes angry and hostile . Threatening that if I do not accept this new install date of 12-16-2015 I would be pushed back on the list of install dates. I told him at this point i would like a complete refund and at first he said he would issue a refund in the amount of $3,000.00 which is $1,260.60 , This is unacceptable, since they have done nothing but cause more damage to our home . So , I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint with all the other people they are scamming in the middle TN area . That's right go check them out they have an extensive history with the BBB of Davidson co . We are in the process of seeking a full refund by what ever means necessary

Everything went well. The roofing crew did a great job, the roof is beautiful and the insurance company paid for the roof. I only needed to pay the deductable and add enough to upgrade to a longer lasting roof.

95% did not speak English. Mexican laborers worked hard but had difficulty understanding what we wanted, They did not flash around a skylight which will require us to call them to return. All in all the work was unsatisfactory. Do require them to have an English-speaker on the job at all times. Our roof was defective but did not leak UNTIL EES worked on it. Require that they obtain a building permit beforehand so the government will require them to make the job right - with no leaks! Our roof leaked AFTER they laid the shingles.
