Randy Caldwell, owner of Caldwell Construction, gets my vote for integrity, quality, professional roof installation at a reasonable price. I was in a bind with another roofer who turned out to be very deceptive and I needed another roofing company. Randy came to my house on a Friday afternoon and by 4.00 p.m. that day he arranged for an installation crew and materials to be delivered to install a roof on Saturday, the next day. The roof was professionally installed . I would recommend Randy to anyone who wants quality service that you can rely on in a professional manner.

CCC nails shingles on by hand rather than using nail guns. There are advantages to that, technically, that they can explain, but to me, the benefit was that they have a limited number of crews. They only have a couple of crews and they've used the same crews for many years. That inspires confidence to me. They worked quickly and cleanup up afterward. The sales manager took ownership of the project and kept me informed from the beginning. I'm happy with the results and would recommend CCC Roofing.

I was initially approached by two salespersons handing out business cards in my neighborhood. They said my roof appeared to have wind damage. I was skeptical at first due to my lack of understanding regarding what constitutes wind damage (i.e. half the roof doesn't necessarily have to be missing nor do shingles have to be flapping in the wind). I was intrigued so I had them point out the less obvious but potentially harmful compromises in my roof. They said it was more than likely something my homeowner's insurance would cover. Still skeptical, I told them I would look into it further and get back with them. I took a week and did some research on roofing in general as well as checked out several local roofing company websites. CCC's was the most thorough and up front regarding potential pitfalls to be wary of with roofing companies. In addition they were highly rated with the BBB. Those two things gave me some peace of mind but I was still guarded as to if their actions lined up with their words. I decided to move forward and called them back. I spoke with Brandon (operations manager) and his thorough and insightful explanation of the process answered every question I had at that time. I agreed to move forward and the salespeople returned to take a closer look at the roof before the insurance adjuster was scheduled to arrive. The day the adjuster arrived I was surprised that CCC's owner (Randy) and the salespeople all showed up to meet with the adjuster on my behalf. The adjuster totaled my roof and cut a check on the spot. Randy and his salespeople talked with me for probably 45 minutes answering every question I could come up with. Randy's professional presence and knowledge gave me complete confidence I was making the right decision in utilizing CCC. The salespeople came back with shingle samples and pricing options for upgrades. I chose a higher quality shingle than was covered by insurance and paid the difference. We selected a color and received an email later that day detailing the next steps (i.e. materials were being ordered, estimated delivery date, estimated installation date. Great communication! We even changed our minds on the shingle color and Randy stopped by our house on a Friday night and personally delivered more samples and talked us through color ideas. The materials were delivered on Monday. The installers arrived mid-day Friday (earlier than expected) and finished on Saturday. They were polite and quite tidy with their clean up (and I'm picky). I only found a few random nails but that is very reasonable to expect given the thousands of nails that were removed with the old shingles. And Randy stopped by to inspect the work at the START of the install and a few days AFTER it was finished. I can honestly say I don't know how they could have provided better service, communication, work quality, follow up, etc. I'm kind of amazed, actually! I've already recommended them to two friends and I rarely do that!

Could not have gone better. We purchased our new home through a relocation company. They had to put on a new roof in order to comply with the loan guidelines. We wanted to upgrade the roof and pay the difference. I called CCC Roofing as soon as we found out that they were the vendor chosen by the relo company. Brandon was extremely helpful in explaining our options, giving us pricing and allowing us to do the process with no stress! He offered to meet with us so that he could explain all of our options to myself and my Husband. We were having a little trouble choosing which shingle color, so he offered to put a pic of our house on his computer and show us different shingle colors on our actual home. Not only was this incredibly cool to see, it made it so much easier to make our decision. We also happened to meet our installer at the office, so we knew exactly who was coming out to do the job. They arrived on time and finished in record time. We could not be happier with roof and the new look it gave the house. The fact that everyone that we dealt with at CCC Roofing was so incredibly nice and helpful was just icing on the cake! Would highly recommend!!

The estimator was very friendly and personable. We had seen some upgraded shingles online and he brought out samples for us to compare. We were able to select a new style shingle and when it was delivered, the delivery person was also very professional. Then the crew came out. They were specially trained to install this particular roof. They were professional, and very diligent about cleaning up after themselves. They showed up on time and stayed all day. The installation was perfect and it was worth every penny. Furthermore, a representative from the office came out the first day to ensure the job began correctly. Then the owner of the company came out at the end to make sure it was finished correctly. They even replaced flashing, repainted vent pipes and it all looks fabulous.
Description of Work: We had roof damage from a storm in April. They ordered, delivered and installed a new roof. Because we wanted to upgrade the style and performance of the roof, we had the old roof torn off. We had the turtle vents removed and new roof decking installed. We had new paper, and shingles installed and we had ridge vents installed on all gables.

I called 4 places to get estimates. Randyn was the first to call me...and he came over, on time, at the time we agreed upon. Another company called but didn't bother to show up. Another company didnt call until the next day. The 4th company never even bothered to call back at all. Randyn was great. He was patient and explained everything. I filed with the insurance company and Randyn sent Brandon to help deal with the insurance adjuster. He was there through the entire process, which was good, because he had to point out some damaged spots to the insurance guy. I had to wait about a week to 10 days to get the actual work done, which wasnt bad considering a tornado destroyed or damaged at least 200 homes in the Murfreesboro area. Randyn assured me that there would be no nail guns used, and they didnt use any. The workers did their thing and didn't bother us at all. The trailor that was suppsed to take the trash away broke down, so the trash sat there overnight. But, they called me and told me there was a delay, so that wasn't a big deal. The workers cleaned up their mess and the nails very well. My only complaint was that I expected Randyn or Brandon to call after the work was completed to ask me if I liked it, if the workers were okay, etc. Especially being as I upgraded to the 3D shingles. But they didn't call until a month later when they realized that I hadn't paid them yet. LOL! I won't even count them off for that because I knew that they were very busy due to all the damaged houses. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone I know.

Not as we expected. The crew was scheduled to begin the job on Friday. They didn't show up until almost 1pm. My huband had gone out to do other things, luckily I remained home. A small pick-up full of mexicans pulled into our front yard and they immediately went to work. After working several hours, one of the workers told me he did not have a long enough line for the chaulk and wondered where the nearest Home Depot was. I told him and he asked me the time. After I told him the time he went back to work, they continued to work without getting more line. I had tried to contact Ken Patterson and after he answered the connection was lost. He did not call me back. My husband returned home after they had been working about 5 hours and noticed they were using staple guns. I contacted Brandon, Ken's supervisior and he said he would call back. When he called back he said the supply company had ordered staple guns instead of nails and the workers used what they were given. He also said that some people prefer staple guns because they do not cause as much pounding which could result in things falling off the walls inside the house. Ken never discussed this with us prior to signing the contract. He said if I had any questions to go to the web site or call the main office. This is a good place to mention that the initial impression I got from Ken Patterson after contacting him for an estimate. I felt like he showed up like Johnny-on-the-spot, took measurements and calculated up an estimate very quickly. He presented it to us and assured us that the figures were not reflective of the true cost, but we would not be charged any more than our insurance deductable plus the cost of upgrades, which was $1703.21 total. There was an unspoken pressure in the air you could sense, it seemed like he was in a hurry to have us sign the contract and leave. Needless to say we did agree to have them do the job. The workers seemed disrespectful of us, after the first day they left debris everywhere and threw garbage out of there truck into our yard before leaving the site. It made me wonder if they were this sloppy, what kind of job were they doing up on the roof where I could not see. It left me feeling very uneasy about the quality of workmanship we were receiving. Regretfully, we should have gone with a roofer we got an estimate from who had an A rating on Anjies list, but we felt was too expensive for us. The reason I gave this company a grade of "F" is because they claim on their website that what sets them apart from other roofing companies is that they are one of the few remaining companies that hand nails their shingles and then they did the job with staple guns! I was so concerned about how they were going to work this whole price thing out with the insurance company and not cut corners somewhere and I made those concerns known. But in the end, it seems like they did anyway. I really disliked how messy and careless the workers were.
Description of Work: They were to remove the old shingles and felt. Any wood sheathing that was found to be rotted or unusable was to be replaced. They were to install new 30 lb felt and GAF-Elk 30 year dimensional/architechtural shingles. Install new vent pipe flashings and replace the chimney flashing. Install approximately 47 feet of GAF-Elk, Cobra III, ridgeline exhuast vents. They were to clean up debris and haul to dump.

Response from CCC Roofing
CCC claims responsibility for the poor supervision on this job! Everyone is capable of making mistakes; however there are a few things inaccurate in the report given, which is, by Angie's List, UNLAWFUL! Firstly, the salesman on the job, Ken Patterson, stated that he spent over an hour in the front yard talking to the homeowner after the estimating time, not just in and out. The homeowner did have additional questions and called in to the office and I personally talked to her several times for a total time of almost an hour. Secondly, we did not use "staple guns"! We ordered the materials from ABC Supply, and that order specifically said 1 1/4" EG HAND DRIVE NAILS! ABC Supply mistakenly send 1 1/4" COIL NAILS for a nail gun (an industry standard these days) instead. ABC took full responsibility for their mistake. Our mistake was not checking the shipment before starting the work, and we are truly sorry for that. After the work was completed the owner of CCC went to the home and said that we would do ANYTHING to make it right! This included tearing off the roof and replacing it! The homeowners choose not to do that, but instead to hand nail 2 more nails per shingle! We upgraded from there and hand nailed four more nails per shingle with the owner of CCC present to make sure it was done to every shingle!! This will protect from winds beyond 130 mph! We had GAF/ELK send a letter stating that their roof will perform normally! (Above and beyond truthfully). With that done and satisfying the homeowner to the fullest extent it still took weeks for us to get paid! We made a mistake and we have had meetings and policy changes to try and never make this mistake again! We do apologize and hope everyone realizes that nobody is perfect and mistakes can happen. It is how that are handled and resolved that counts!
