Burks & Company LLC

I wanted to tell you of the experience we've had to deal with for the last 4 months. My mother contracted with Mr. Burks to waterproof her home. With that came digging out around half the house. the job was going to take 3 days top! He had our hvac system because it was in the area of where the digging was going to be happening. He forgot to make the CALL BEFORE YOU DIG call and began digging before anything was marked. He left an inexperienced man on a backhoe, which resulted in, he got the machine stuck in the mud up against our house and used the house to bounce back and forth off of to try and get unstuck, this caused our house to move off the foundation. This company also broke brick into our house, lifted our roof 2 ft. of the rafters and brick, busted our blocks, smashed 3 corners of gutters, ripped out softit, broke of our new lights, popped all the drywall nails in that side of the house, caved in a portion of a panel room and anything else I just can't think of. He refused to put up a protective barrier wall in the 12-15 ft trenches, he nor his workers wore hard hats, and continued to work recklessly after I asked them to STOP work because I felt they were destroying our house, and told me I didn't know what I was talking about . 15 mins later I had 6 firetrucks in front of my house because he busted my main gas line. Here's the real kicker, he went to my mother's home with a liability release form and told her she would have to sign it because I refused to let him fill in the trenches to cover up evidence of the damage. He told my 78 year old mother he was going to call the police and have her daughter arrested if my mother didn't sign that paper. WHAT KIND OF A MAN DOES THAT TO A OLD WOMAN? We are going on our third week of no air condition, and a mud trench around our house waiting on his insurance to send a adjuster out, and that's only because I had to get a lawyer involved. BAD BAD COMPANY!!!! Note...Sept. 23, til this day we still have 15 ft. trenches around one part of the house. We can not go out the back door. Nothing has been fixed. We were forced to go and buy air conditioners on our own, insurance is not going to pay us back for them. We have uncontrollable mold growing in our downstairs basement area, all of our furniture and clothes down there have mold growing one them. And when it rains, we are held responsible for making sure the water is pumped out of the trenches. To this date Terrell Burks has never taken responsibility for his actions, nor has he returned any of the money he received. He has never apologized for any of the damages he and his company has caused to our home nor our family.
