Joe returned my call, arrived on time to give me an estimate. The painters arrived on time and worked nonstop, removing nails and fixing holes, then replacing nails as I requested. The job was done in a timely manner and looks great--except that I was in a hurry when I picked out the paint and it is a pinkish color rather than what I wanted. Don't pick out a color at Sherwinn Williams on a cloudy day!!!

I received a quick estimate and was told that someone would call me in a day or two to set up a time to come do the work. After 4 or 5 days I hadn't heard anything from them so I contact them. They quickly scheduled a time then. They came exactly on time. They were methodical and meticulous with all aspects of the project (room preparation, painting and clean up). I was VERY impressed.

No one showed up the day that American Pride was to do the work so at 9:00am, an hour after they were supposed to be at my house, I called Joe. He said that he had gotten the dates mixed up even though I had setup an electronic meeting request as a reminder. He told me he would send someone over as soon as possible. A workman arrived at my house completely unprepared to do the job. He did not have any tools and had to borrow ours. He made some half hearted attempts to remove the wallpaper and then told me it was too hard. He said that we should not remove all the wallpaper but instead we should mud over the seams, prime the walls and paint over the old wallpaper. I asked how long it would take to do this and he told me that he would need to talk to Joe. He went out to his truck to make a call and never came back. He did not tell me he was leaving or communicate in any way. I called Joe who told me that he had not realized how difficult it would be to get the wallpaper off the walls even though I had told him that my husband and I had worked for over a month to scrap it off just half the kitchen walls. This was, I told him, because of the fact that the wallpaper had been applied right over the wallboard by the builder. Joe proposed to send a team of people to my house the following week to complete the job. I agreed to this as long as we agreed in writing on what they were going to do. I wrote an email message to Joe outlining the steps that would need to be taken based on my conversation with his workman and the difficulties that he outlined. The next day I got an email message from Joe telling me that he would be unable to do the job as the wall paper removal was too difficult and he would not be able to make a profit on the job. I was just stunned by this response and called Joe. He said that he could not do this job based on my "demands" and I said that I had gotten the "demands" from his own workman who had outlined to me what needed to be done to "do the job right". Joe reiterated that he just could not make a profit on this job and said that he hoped this did not leave us in the lurch. I said that of course he had left us in the lurch since we had granite coming in a week. My husband and I had to take OVER A WEEK off from work to complete the job ourselves so that we would be ready for the installation of the granite. Joe did not charge me for the "work" however seeing that no one actually did any work this was only fair. This behavior was unprofessional to say the very least. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Overall a positive experience. Joe came right out and gave us an estimate and followed up to schedule the job. They had very good recommendations and although they started a day late, they were prompt every day after and the crew was a very pleasant group. The final bill was about twice the estimate, but the estimate depended completely on the state of the walls when the paper came off and they were in terrible shape. We were kept in the loop about going over the estimate and had opportunities to bail out if we wanted to. I appreciated that they stayed and finished the job that took longer than they scheduled and that they did good work - not just hurry up and get it over with. The only thing that we were disappointed in was the mess that was made. I know wall repair is messy, (especially the extent of repair that was necessary) but with a little planning and some simple precautions, the mess could have been much better contained. It took us a long time to get the place cleaned up and put back together.

They did everything I wanted, even though it took more work than originally estimated. Very happy with job. Will call them again.

The company went out of their way to start the project early due to some complex timing of other renovations we were doing. To a man Mr. Johnson and his crew are some of the finest and nicest people I have ever worked with. They truly believe in customer satisfaction and do high-quality work. We have already signed them up to come back in a month and paint the exterior.

The whole experience went quite smoothly. I first contacted Joe for an estimate and he was able to come out the next day. Once I had that and made the decision I called him back and they were able to start the next week. It took about two days with the third being only a couple of hours for a last coat on the trim. For the first two days three people were on site painting. They worked extremely fast. The quality is excellent, it's just what I wanted.

My phone call was quickly returned and the same week I had an estimate. They showed up on time, were clean and courteous. Having 3 painters made the job go faster than I expected. My rooms look great and I didn't have to lift a finger. The price quoted was correct and definitely worth every penny. I will always use American Pride Painting for my painting needs.

Joe (the owner) answered my questions in detail during many phone conversations to set up the job. He and his assistant arrived early to my home and completed the job in a timely fashion. They were professional, courteous, and neat. I appreciated that they put down drop cloths and replaced all furnishings in their exact location. In the following days I did see a missed spot or two, but nothing worth calling them back to correct. I intend to use them again and got great estimates on the other rooms in my home before they left.

American Pride Painting did a fantastic job. They not only did a great job with just the painting, but they were on time, professional, cleaned up after themselves, and were very fairly priced. An overall great experience. I highly recommend them.
