Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel
I would not use the service of ASAP Construction again. I would not recommend them so people would not use them. They had to finish the job because some things were really not completely finished.

Concrete Repair
On 9/24/2012, I had Mr Pinson come over and give me an estimate on pouring a patio and an additional parking spot at my residence. He said he could do the job for $1800. I took him to be an upstanding and trustworthy gentleman as a independent construction contractor. Boy, did I get blind sided. I will not recommend the man to ANYONE.

I feel it is only fair to warn you about the business
practices of A.S.A.P. Construction, owner Jim Pinson. I want to make sure that
no one else gives this man a dime. He is a smooth talker and will promise you
the world and tell you are his friend often. He is a horrible money manager and
will not buy the materials you need for your job with any money your give him
up front. It all goes to pay the last several jobs he didn?t finish to
hopefully finish them before he gets sued. He will never put a start date or an
end date on his contracts for the reason.
He has cancer and uses this to his advantage so you will
feel sorry for him. He goes to the emergency quite often for treatment and will
use this as an excuse as well for not showing up or calling, and because he has
cancer you feel sorry for him. He is lousy with time management and will tell
you he will be at your house at 9am and show up at 2 or 3pm with a flimsy
excuse, normally because he has to go to his building off of 109 for supplies.
He grossly under quoted the job to us and when his labor and
materials cost outweighed what we still owed him he just stopped showing up. He
will not call you and give you updates on what is going on leaving you to
wonder sometime for weeks if he will ever show back up.
He will also do what we call gold plating; he will offer to
fix things not in the contract at no charge you. We figured out this was to
appease us if he didn?t show up or call for several days. He will also tell you
that you are his friend and he will do anything to help out a friend. He will
lie straight to your face about needing money for something, that he is
desperate and has nowhere else to turn. That if at all possible could you just
front him just a little bit more money to get him out of a bind so he doesn?t
have to sell his truck or put a lien against it. That you have all his tools on
site and he isn?t going anywhere. Then when you aren?t paying attention to his
workers at the end of day while he distracts you those tools are whisked off of
your property leaving you with nothing when he bails.
I have had cancer and my husband has it now so I have a soft
spot for cancer patients, he zoned in on that and took advantage of our good
nature.
He will also blame anyone that works for him when things
don?t get done, and it is quite simply not their fault. The man he has working
for him works like mad man trying to get jobs caught up and Jim often time gets behind or just won?t
pay his workers and they quit. His help did his best to show up and finish what
he was working on until Jim finds out where he is and calls him away on someone
else?s emergency.
He also was paid in full from one of my neighbors in
September and to this day has not completed the job and my neighbor is out
$1800.00 and I do have my neighbors permission to add this to Angie's List. I found out he didn?t finish a
job down the street from us either. If you have a contract with him and don?t
pay him he will put a lien on your house and won?t think twice about it as he
so proudly told us one day.
Thankfully, we were about to abolish our remaining contract
and we have had to hire someone else and pay them again to finish our project
which has doubled our budget. We started a 1 month project at the most in
September, it is now December and it is still not complete and we still have
four holes in our house that need to be bricked up. We already paid for brick
at least 3 times, and each time he used the money to finish someone?s project.
We found out just a little too late what was going on.
You have been warned; watch out, I don?t want this man
rentaking anyone else?s money if I can help it.

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel
Please don't go through the misery we did after hiring this company. Initially Mr. Pinson seemed enthusiastic and capable. told us his labor would cost $3500.00. We bought supplies making the total cost of the project $5000.00. After the first day of a successful demolition, the project went down hill FAST. Mr. Pinson left his assistant here with no help! By sheer luck my husband was able to stay in town to step in since we already paid cash for the first 1/2 of the project. My husband had to cut the holes in the tub for the faucets because Mr. Pinson's assistant couldn't do it. He also built the glass brick walls because the assistant couldn't do it. We fed the assistant lunch everyday because Mr. Pinson never brought him any food! The assistant said Mr. Pinson was always responsible for that.
My husband even had to make the runs back and forth to the home improvement stores! It was obvious we were in trouble. We went back to the home improvement stores and asked various employees if they've heard of this man. Each and everyone of them said "YES! and they would NEVER hire him for a job!"Now were panicking. At one point during the project the assistant had "two friends" drop by to see the project. they were only there for short time but we were worried that maybe they were checking out our property. My husband finally said he was going to finish the job. Yes, he did pay Mr. Pinson his money---- because we were afraid there would be dangerous ramifications since other people had been in our home. Basically, we had ENOUGH! We've logged the hours my husband worked, and the gas and mileage used to make all the store runs. We asked Mr. Pinson for a 'good faith' reimbursement for his time spent. We got hung up on. Now it's all been sent to our attorney.
One more thing. We also discovered missing medication from our cabinet.

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel, General Remodeling + 1 more
I had a nightmare of a contractor experience when I hired another contractor to repair and re tile a bathroom after a leak occurred causing the floor to sag and the guy that was doing my work used sub standard materials, left a huge mess in my basement and left me w/o a toilet and finally told me he wasn't showing up for another week. Out of desperation I called Mr. Pinson, he told me he would be there in about an hour. He showed up and made a bid to complete the shoddy work left by the previous man for a mere $700. The next day his crew showed up in the morning and hit it hard. They pulled up all the particle board flooring and 2x4 joists from before, installed pine 2x8 joists and plywood flooring the entire time keeping out of my way and being very courteous and clean. The lines were smooth and flush to the surrounding floor boards. That was complete the first night and Jim offered to install a new toilet for approximately $120 and paint the bathroom for $100, to which I agreed. The next day they put some form of crete-board down on the newly installed flooring and began to tile it. I went to the gym and when I returned, the room had been painted, the toilet that was previously in the bath room had been installed in the spare bathroom and the new toilet I had purchased was now awaiting the tile work completion to be placed in the new bathroom. While the tile work was drying they began to clean my basement, when they finished they placed my toilet and began touching up places where the paint had strayed onto the trim as well as mopping up my hallway. The next day they came by and sealed the work and asked if I was happy and I was so I payed them. Nice work!
