Took my money and left without completing the job. Won a judgement as a result that this dead beat will never pay.

We paid him an extra $1000 in advance of contract completion at his request because he had to dip into his own account to buy materials supposedly; we trusted him to complete the work which he assured us would be done in a few days but within a few days he was gone, not answering our calls, and never returned to complete the wrap around the pool. Now we are in the process of taking him to small claims court to get back the money we paid in advance of the agreed upon schedule so that we can pay someone reliable to complete the wrap around our pool. After one year we asked over 20 documented times in e-mail for him to complete the work before resorting to court and all responses were met with stories of personal woes or waiting on completion of other work; many false promises and deadlines were given, none of which he met. He never showed up again - ever. Our experience was disappointing; if you elect to do business with this individual I would advise not paying anything until each checkpoint is done or he will move on to the next job once your money is in his pocket. The worst part is that he seems like a nice person and is always polite as he provides you with reason after reason that he hasn't completed the work that you have paid for. He relies on sympathy and your empathy for his personal circumstances to keep you at arm's length while clearly on social media he's out and about hunting, working on other jobs, etc. Beware, he is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He seems very personable and trustworthy, uses words like sir and respectfully as he's telling you the many reasons why he can't complete the work you've paid him for. Avoid at all costs. Note also that he damaged our yard with his truck driving in the mud and claimed he would fix this which he never did, left nails in the grass all over the construction zone, punctured our pool liner with a nail that landed in our pool, etc.

Kevin is very knowledgeable and knows his craft well. He is professional and detailed oriented. He did an excellent job for a very competitive price. I would highly recommend him and use him again. I plan on using him for another project already.
