ABSOLUTE WATERPROOFING & DRAINAGE

This company is a stellar example of professionalism and customer service. I had water drainage problems into my utility room and garage. Byron Lowe, the owner of Absolute Waterproofing & Drainage Systems, came personally to inspect my home to determine not only the source of the problem, but to also provide a very detailed estimate proposing the work that needed to be done to correct the problem that also included a detailed graph illustrating the exact placement of drainage pipes. Byron's visit was extremely informative. As he began investigating by starting to walk around the exterior of my home, he immediately found what he said he would bet was 98% of my problem. My large, steep roof only had 4" gutters and limited downspouts, one of the downspouts even drained next to the foundation. He still did a thorough inspection and validated what he described as the problem when he went underneath the house. I informed him that my home was damaged by a hail storm and my gutters and downspouts were going to be replaced. He suggested that I replace them all with 6" ones and recommended placement for an additional downspout. He told me to call him if that did not correct the problem. I am pleased to say that it did. I had gotten recommendations from several other people that were not experts related to drainage. If I had followed their suggestions and spent the thousands of dollars on what they proposed, the problem would have remained. The $50 coupon I purchased through Angie's List was literally worth thousands of dollars to me because of what it saved me. If I do have any additional problems, I will be contacting Byron. There are not very many companies that have the integrity to make recommendations that can be resolved by the homeowner.

Byron was outstanding to work with. Not only was it pleasant to deal with him and his wife, but he was on time, thorough, and professional. On top of it, rather than simply suggest an expensive solution that would give him a job, he noticed some issues with our gutter guards that was contributing to the problems. He also suggested a few very cheap steps to take before we even considered a larger more expensive and time consuming solution. His suggestions were great, they worked, and they saved us a few grand. It was refreshing to deal with someone who cared about our situation and was not simply out to score another job. We would recommend him to anyone.

Purchased a home drainage inspection through the 'Big Deal' and got a very thorough and experienced opinion on the basement water issues I was having. Recommended new gutters/downspouts as well as some topo alterations (install swath, build up soil, install river rock, etc). Had the new gutter/downspouts done (paid for by insurance from hail damage) but problem still remained, although probably a little better now. Haven't done the other work yet because of the price, although it does seem like it would be probably be worth it. This company is top notch and is unparalleled in terms of customer service and quality of work.

Fantastic. Byron and Teresa were wonderful to work with. Teresa called frequently to fit me in for my initial evaluation and plan appointment. Once they sent the quote and plan, they were never pushy about moving forward with the job. They answered my questions and had followed my request to break apart the job costs in to different stages to match my budget. Once I decided to move forward, Teresa kept in regular tough while she worked to schedule my job. Byron and his team were neat, efficient and knowledgeable. It's always great to have the owner on site and hands on with your job. I felt very comfortable that the work being done was high quality. And, they continuously went the extra mile to do a great job. Many thanks for the excellent service! I will definitely use them in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

We have a humidity problem because we built our house on too low a ground. I just wanted the advice from a knowledgable person whether there is anything at all that we can do. He suggested we get a de-humidifier, which we did. It helped, at least in the summer.

I had some water damage in our basement and actually joined Angie's List to help me sort out what companies to call to help me fix it. Absolute had such outstanding reviews I knew that they were a company that should be at the top of my list. I called them and couldn't get an appointment for a whole month but I knew it would be worth the wait! In the meantime I had other companies come out to give me suggestions and estimates but they seemed to be trying to sell me a sump pump that I didn't think I needed. When Byron, from Absolute, came out I immediately knew what all the fuss was about. He really seemed to know his stuff and told me that he really thought that, even though we live on a hill and get a lot of water towards the house, all we probably needed to do was replace our gutters, gutter guards, and redirect some downspouts. He said that we may have to take our prevention in stages and try that first to see if further steps needed to be made in the future like a french drain. He never once tried to push me into buying anything. He didn't throw any fancy brochures at me or promise me any quick fixes to my problem. That meant the world to me! That made me trust him even more and supported what all the other Angie's List reviews had been saying about them. He did draw up plans for the installation of a french drain for me because I had asked him to just in case I thought that I needed to add that in the future. About a week later those plans were e-mailed to me and were in great detail. They are pretty backed up as far as scheduling and told me that it would probably be at least a couple of months before they could install it for me if/when I wanted to do it. I was informed that that's because Byron, the owner, oversees every project that they do. I really feel as though this is the best waterproofing company around! Believe me - I talked to 3 others! They are so friendly and informative and the quality of their work seemed to be top notch. I am holding off on the french drain installation for now to see if the new gutters solve the issue but if they do not I will be scheduling with Absolute for sure!

I bought the $50 Angie's List deal. They honored the coupon after it expired (I had been very busy and kept forgetting to call and schedule) and both the woman who answered the phone and the company owner who came out to look at my property were very nice and professional. Unfortunately he concluded that there was nothing he could do to really improve the drainage on my property because of how the house is situated. He gave me a few tips for simple things I could do myself but the company did not perform any work.

If you really have an issue, I'm sure he would be able to supply services to fix issues. But if you just need to check a newly purchased home for potential issues, he is more than happy to give you a nice review.

They did a very nice job and left everything in good condition. I would definitely use this company again and recommend them highly.

I had previously noted some water in my crawlspace, so I wanted someone to assess the situation, let me know if it were any serious problems, and recommend some solutions. I followed Mr. Lowe around and took notes on his observations and recommendations, which I found very helpful and informative. No significant issues were found.

Fantastic job. I needed someone to explain what I needed to do to waterproof my home and fix all the drainage and gutter problems. Not only did he explain everything that needed to be done in great detail, he also cleared out my underground drainage (which was clogged up and non-functional) that was my main problem for no charge! This saved me from potentially having to replace my underground drainage which would have cost big bucks. A+++!!!

I called this company because we had been informed that our crawl space had some dampness on the walls and we wanted to make sure that the water was draining properly away from our house. We had a quick and professional response from the owner and the estimate seemed comprehensive and fair. The workmen went above and beyond what was promised and it was an excellent experience.

Byron was great! My wife and I were not really too worried about drainage in our house, although we had one corner of the garage which we were about concerned about. This inspection was mostly just preventive. Byron was very helpful in that regard, pointing out several little things we could do ourselves to address the issue. That's what I appreciated most -- Byron wasn't looking to give himself business, rather to give me some honest, straightforward advice. He seems like a great guy and I would be happy to use him again if I needed major work.

I just bought an older house so thought I'd purchase the Angie's List Deal for a waterproofing and drainage assessment. Byron came out to give us a walk through and look at everything. He arrived and immediately handed me a nice portfolio with all of his license, insurance and pertinent info about the company. I thought this was impressive. We did a walk around of the whole house and he gave me some pointers on things to fix or update and ways to weatherproof our basement area. I also asked about repairing a downspout drainage issue and an estimate to fix a retaining wall that has started to separate. Within a few days, I had an itemized estimate on the things he could do and some options so we could organize our budget and try to tackle these one by one. In the meantime, we had some leaking in the basement we couldn't figure out and then later we found during heavy rains we were having some pooling under our carport near the foundation. Byron came out each time with ideas and advice for fixing the problems, never charging us a cent. We still have to figure out some solutions and our budget but at least we know more than we did and as soon as we can afford the repairs, I will be calling Absolute to do the work. I have no doubt they will do a top notch job! Byron and Teresa are wonderful people who value relationships, they will always have people like me who will highly recommend them from the rooftops whenever I can!

It is refreshing to work with people who are prompt, honest and reliable. They did not even charge for this emergency visit. They made recommendations that were easy enough to handle on our own. GREAT SERVICE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

After our concrete driveway with drain was installed 2 years ago we have had an issue with water coming into the garage during a hard rain I asked a few drainage people on what course of action to take and they all suggested that the the only thing to do was to cut up the driveway. Nobody actually took the time to review the issue. When I called Absolute I had the impression that I was speaking with people that really understood residential drainage problems. Bryon arrived on time and he actually listened to what I had to say. He noticed right away what caused the problem proceeded to help me address it. He also made additional suggestion if the water continued to come into the garage. The other companies did not have any better suggestions. Teresa and Bryon are very easy to speak with and are very professional. Also, Bryon worked on the drainage area and he did not charge me one cent for this. When I asked him more questions about the drainage situation all the way to the road ditch, Byron gave me suggestions all along the way. In the future for my drainage needs Teresa and Bryon would the first I would call.

After getting several assessments and estimates about our basement drainage problem, we decided that Absolute's was the most cost-effective. The owner of the business personally supervised and assisted during the actual work. Our water problem is fixed, and we know that if other problems arise, we will not consider using anyone else. They truly went beyond our expectations.

The work is not cheap, but we tried to go cheap the first time and ended up having to hire Byron to fix someone else's mistakes. So professional, such a good job!

Mr. Byron Lowe, President and Co-Owner of Absolute Waterproofing & Drainage Systems, Inc., spent a considerable amount of time at my home explaining simple do-it-yourself methods of re-routing the water drainage path, which will hopefully prevent the need for any substantial repairs in the future. This is exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased the Angie’s List promotion! I can honestly say that I have never experienced this level of service or witnessed the dedication to customer service from any other provider – ever. Mr. Lowe built instant credibility after performing a couple of quick fixes (at no charge) and recommending other simple fixes that involve nothing more than time and minimal effort. Mr. Lowe even told me to give him a call if I have any questions during the process. In short, this is the kind of guy that we all want to inspect and work on our homes (and has the genuine personality that makes you want to take him out for lunch afterwards). Our basement was very damp, and had visible water seeping when it rained. Absolute Waterproofing & Drainage came out to give an estimate. They were punctual, thorough, and offered solutions we hadn't thought of before. They had a very detailed package of references, accreditations, and Angie's List reviews. Several days after the estimate, they emailed detailed design plans with an itemized expense sheet. The job was more expensive than I could afford at the time, but the plans seemed reasonable, the staff friendly and helpful, and they seemed honest and sincere. I would recommend them to other users.

SUPER...from the start to the end!!!

Absolute Waterproofing reminds me of the quality of work and customer service I saw in the small town where I grew up many years ago, where the contractors likely were also neighbors and friends. Absolute doesn't just do the job and pick up the check: they go above and beyond, and they left our yard looking better than when they arrived. After we got an estimate and set an appointment to have the work done, examinations by Metro Water Services suggested the problem might be a city waterline break. We feared we might have to postpone the appointment, and that would delay the work until well into the period of spring rains. Byron's wife, Teresa, worked with us to keep us on the schedule while the city investigated and we only had to delay work by a couple of weeks - as things turned out, city water was not the problem. The description of the work performed by Absolute Waterproofing is given above, so let me just say here that their crew is phenomenal - efficient and friendly. I could use so many superlatives to describe our experience with them that I'm afraid no one would believe me. I'll recommend them to anyone.

On a day when there were tornado warnings and it was raining cats and dogs Byron called to see if he could come out to our house to look at a problem we were having with an outside drain and a basement drain. We had an appointment for later in the month but Teresa called the day before to tell me they might have a cancellation. That kind of service is very thoughtful because as it turned out Byron came a whole week before our scheduled appointment. When Byron arrived, my husband was on the roof trying to remove debris from our gutters and sensing that we were pretty adventurous, he approached our job with cost effective recommendations. Although his company was also skilled in performing the work we needed, Byron was very generous with his time and provided many suggestions for ways we could do it ourselves. Without hesitation, I would call Byron again for any work to be performed at our house and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of similar services.
