I have bought numerous Stihl products over the years from these guys, but their counter personnel have to be some of the worst known to mankind. Just to get checked out, you can wait up to twenty minutes, If there's a line, does anyone jump in to help? Absolutely not. They can be backed up and the service dept, even though they're able, they still won't check you out. They ask you to go up front. There's one guy who I think his job is just to occupy a space and waste good air and it's been that way for years. I would never buy anything more than a blower from these guys. John Deere and others should be ashamed these guys rep their products. If that was the only place to buy John Deere, I would use a push mower instead. Absolutely pathetic. Oh and if you're a woman, be prepared to be an afterthought until after the important folks have been taken care of. I may be the first to actually write a review but even when I was with the fire department, we cringed if we had to buy something from them. I think they actually get merit pay for who can be the worst counter rep. .

After keeping my mower for over 6 weeks, they charged me over $500 for the repair. While they had the mower, they had to call me to see what was wrong with it even though I had fully explained the issue from the beginning. The people on the phone were nice but the service is probably the worst that I have ever experienced with a company. I would never use them again.
Description of Work: Battery was draining and didn't recharge.

I called the TriGreen and asked about the price of routine service for my mower. I was quoted a price of approx. $180 for full routine service - including oil & filter changes, deck adjustment, greasing, blade sharpening, etc. I was told that if belts or pulleys were needed that would be extra and they would call me with a quote. I was also told it would be two weeks. Two weeks in I had not heard anything so I figured I'd call. They had not yet looked at my mower. Understandable as they gave me an estimate of two weeks. They said they would get it pulled ahead and looked at right away. I gave it a few more days and never received a call, so again I called them. They now said they had an estimate ready. I asked why they had not called to get approval for the work. I got a lame excuse about being too busy. The quote was for a deck belt. The total cost to replace the belt, including the labor, was over $160. That just seems high to me! I approved them to go ahead since they already had the mower and I just wanted to get it running again (the part that wasn't running when I dropped it off was the blade, hence the replacement of the deck belt). I called back a couple of days later and was told, "yeah, we've got a quote ready for you." Really? I told the guy, "Yeah, I know. I approved the work two days ago." He replied that apparently he had not written that down. Gees! Still at this point I had NEVER once received a phone call from these people. At this point it had been two weeks since I cut my grass (I had borrowed a friends mower) and I was hoping to have my mower back by the weekend. This was now Friday. The guy said he would get someone on it and call me back to let me know if it would be ready for me to pick up Saturday morning. At 8:30 am Saturday I had not received a call, so again, I called them. The service guy would not even take the call because again he was too busy! Wow! The operator said she would have him call me as soon as he had taken care of the few customers he had waiting to drop off mowers (poor suckers!). He of course never called. About 9:30 I called back again. This time I was told that they were working on it but didn't know if it would be done today or not. Really? It's simple maintenance and changing one belt! He said he would call back to let me know if, in deed, it would be done. This time he did call back, about 30 minutes later, to let me know it was on the rack and would be ready, as he said "hopefully", in about an hour. So, I'm going to go pick it up at 11:30 and can update this after that. I will never take any equipment there again for service, nor would I ever do any business with these people again. If you can't be trusted to make a phone call when you say you will, then you can't be trusted with much in my opinion. I would have been OK with what I thought was a high price to replace the belt if the service had been worth the cost. The customer service this place provides is worthless and does not add anything (actually detracts from) to the service they provide. UPDATE: OK, I finally went to pickup the mower. I will say they did pretty good work. The mower ran and cut well. The price ended up less than I was expecting, not because they gave me any kind of discount or break for the poor customer service, but rather because the guy failed to add in the price of the routine service to the price he provided me in the quote. So even the good part of my experience was due to the guy running the service department screwing up in yet another way. So, the moral to this story is, if you don't mind waiting and having to do all the reaching out and checking back, then this may be a place for you. If you expect people to call you like they say they will and follow through with the work the first time you OK it, then maybe you should thing about taking your equipment somewhere else for maintenance.

Description of Work: This is our local John Deere dealer and repair service. I've used them since I bought my first Deere in 2002. I was hoping when TriGreen acquired the location in about 2006, service would improve. I haven't found it so. Generally, the communication about anything is poor to non existent. This last month, I brought my mower in for a belt replacement and annual service. The service person said he could get right on it. Two weeks later I called for the status and they had trouble finding where the mower was, and then asked to repeat all information such as my name, etc. and what needed to be done. This is typical of my experience over the past 10 years. The time before last I had service, my mower would not start when delivered. I will be finding a new service place, which I should have done before now.
