Neighborhood is very nice, well planned out, yards are ok in size. The problem with my build and many of my neighbors was the contractor overseeing the build, who is still on the job. Had nothing but problems, contractor was rude, dishonest, there was no quality control, damaged shower, tub, cabinet were installed along with an unstable mailbox. Garage foundation was off by a full foot, slab had several uneven and high spots. Follow-up after closing, took two months to come fix leaking roof, which he didn't fix, ended up fixing it myself with my own money after contractor never bothered to come back even though he's working in the sub-division every day. Contractor even bad mouthed me to new home buyers because I held him accountable for the shoddy workmanship, which is completely unprofessional.

I would be very careful if I was going to buy a home in a Swanson development, knowing what I know now. Those who bought in one of Swanson's subdivisions, Kingdom Ridge, originally were led to believe that the lots would be 15000 sq. ft. Since the subdivision was first developed, it has been rezoned to 10000 sq. ft. lots and a portion at the entrance has been rezoned for apartments, of which I was told tonight has even changed since approval because it was to be a highend apartment complex with fewer apartments than are actually there. Tonight Swanson went to the planning commission and asked to have the lots rezoned again. This time he asked to rezone to 8000 sq. ft. lots and to have the entrance acreage rezoned to highway commercial. Both of these will greatly devalue the homes in this subdivision. At this time the planning commission voted to recommend these changes although several residents spoke against the rezoning. If I were looking to purchase a home in the Murfreesboro area, I would not believe whatever Swanson Realty and Contractors tells you. They are definitely only out to make a buck, although their website says they are interested in the home buyers needs.
Description of Work: My husband and I purchased a house in the development of Kingdom Ridge from Swanson Realtors. We were led to believe this would be a subdivision that would hold it's value on homes and that would maintain a certain quality of life.
