MN Appliance Service

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE THEY ARE SCAMMERS....Eric, with MN Appliance Service, came out on June 19, Friday, said he'd be back the following week and never returned after taking almost $389. Could not get him on the phone for 3 weeks until we called the booking service we used to book him and when he did finally call, he was completely rude and tried to lie about what I was told originally. He said he had called and left a message to let us know the part was on backorder (which I ordered online with no problem) which was not true as I had the only voicemail he'd left (which was only left after I had called trying to track him down 3 weeks later) that only asked us to call him back....no message about anything on backorder. He also grossly overcharged us for the part which was $35 online and he charged us $107. It's been almost 4 months and still no refund (or attempt to repair) even though he said a refund would be sent. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they are completely unprofessional and are nothing but scammers. In the process of filing complaint in civil court.

He, "Uncle Eric", came through another service, appliancehd.com (which I would also not recommend). Came when he said, assessed the refrigerator, said it needed 2 parts, and charged us $282.66 for parts and labour. I wrote him a check (which he cashed that day) and he said he'd be back in a couple of days when the parts came in. This was a Wednesday. We called the next week, left a message, and he called back and named a day when he would come... if the parts were in. (I have since had it repaired by another company. They were back with the part in 2 days.) Then began the practice of calling and leaving increasingly frustrated messages every day or two. No more calls, no visit. Nothing. I called a different company and the whole thing was over in 3 days. I have paid twice to have my frig fixed, but Uncle Eric didn't do it.

I called and someone came out and said that it needed a drainpump and he would order the part. The next time he called he made an appointment to come out and said he needed a second person because they were stacked and he needed a helper for that. All of that sounded reasonable to me. he came and worked on replacing the drain pump and I paid him. After he left I ran a load and it started making new noises but it did spin. I called him and said there was a problem. I tried to run a second load and the spin cycle can’t run it just shudders and jumps. I I have called repeatedly for a month now and can’t get my calls returned.

MN Appliance (Eric Sykes) replaced the Ice Maker and talked us into a "service agreement" for another $40 for a Total Cost of $400. They left (told us it would take an hour or two to make ice) but the Ice Maker never worked MN Appliance (Erik) came back and replaced their first install, but that one didn't work either. They said they would come again and investigate, but never showed. This happened 3 times (they said they would visit on a specific day but never showed, leaving us waiting all day.) We finally gave up and called GE (General Electric) and they sent out a repair person. He said the Ice Maker wasn't the problem, it was the fan used to circulate the cold air. They replaced the fan and the Ice Maker is working. We told MN Appliance about the situation and asked them to return our money and we would return the Ice Maker. To date they will not respond. We reported them to the BBB and are taking them to small claims court, all of which could be avoided if they would simply call us to discuss. To date they won't return calls or emails.
