I did not want to write a bad review, but I was convinced by friends that that is the purpose of getting referrals from Angie?s List is to get honest reviews. Also, I purposefully did not include the dollar amount for the work (left as $0). I believe based on the amount I paid the work should have been of higher quality, so I am a bit embarrassed that what I got was less than acceptable and below standard. The work started on/or around May 2014. Below is just a description of the issues that were associated with the final construction results. Issues: 1) Linoleum hard-wood like floors-there are gaps and part of linoleum not properly sticking to floor; 2)Painting-doors not completed coated with white paint/can see streaks. In bathroom (all other painting I did myself), wall paint on the ceiling; 3) Bathroom-installed new outlet, however, drywall around outlet has a hole (not completely sealed around outlet), for tub, installed bath fixture incorrectly (backwards) so that you turn single lever towards cold to get hot water, plus I had to have another plumber come in a) to identify that problem and b) to turn off the safety block that kept water from getting hot. Also, the new bathroom is an expansion of the previous laundry closet and the vent from the dryer was never closed/covered leaving an opening to the outside of my house. Per another plumber for another issue with the bathroom, it was discovered that there is not a drain line that connects to a vent in the attic or running out through the roof; 4) Closets-the depth is very shallow, making it difficult to close the closet doors without snagging on clothes that are hanging on a hanger.; 5) Kitchen-though the countertops and sink are wonderful looking (installed by a different company), the space between the backsplash and wall was not sealed with a sealant.
Description of Work: I was given a consultation and quoting a price for a project to convert a rec room (converted from a garage I suppose way before I purchased the house) into a master bedroom suite. Post consultation, I had the following work performed by the company-installation of new quartz countertops/backsplash, new kitchen sink/faucet, re-configured ‘bonus room’ into a master bedroom suite. That included, 2 new closets, new bathroom, new laundry room and closing off part of the space that was open (when entering from backdoor) into a mudroom.

Terrible. Poor service at best.
Description of Work: They contacted us quickly initially, then didn't show for quite awhile. When they did finally show, we had a good meeting. At that point they "fell off the face of the earth." There was inordinate time between contacts, whereupon we finally chose to get preliminary plans for 2 possible designs. We were sent "Stick figure" designs that a 9 year old could have done. We have received nothing since that time except excuses. We finally gave up on this company. We would have done better at one of the big box stores.

They have been very attentive and willing to discuss some cost-cutting elements of the estimate. The design plans they showed us were beautiful and we will probably use them to do the work.

On the kitchen remodel, Keystone installed tile floors and granite counter tops with new sink, and new cabinets. The bathrrom remodel was a complete tear out and replacement of the sower, vanity, and all fixtures. The work was not completed on a timely manner. .

The project manager was very professional and knowledgeable concerning what I wanted to accomplish. The two man crew who handled the work was fantastic and since it ended up being several days they ended up being part of the family. The end result is a beautiful bathroom and the main attraction is a fantastic shower set up. Only one hitch is when they were pulled off the job for an emergency with another client. Was not too happy about it but understood. Would definitely use Keystone again.

Description of Work: I informed the salesman that i was only taking bids at this time to see whom i was going to use. The salesman was very pushy and told me that he needed me to pay 1/3 upfront now, so that he could stay top salesman at the company and so he could win an IPod. Was not con

Keystone Partners prices seemed a bit high. They were real nice guys. I liked them a lot. They had a good plan. I would definitely use them, but I don't have that kind of money right now.
Description of Work: Keystone Partners came out and gave us an estimate to fix a shower and put in less than 100 square feet of tile.
The owner, Jessie, and Mark came to evaluate and gave us an estimate the same day. We got estimates from 4 companies, total. We called Keystone back to revamp the estimate to be more in line with our budget. They worked with us to set a more realistic rather than luxury plan. They did tell us that they would not begin work until all supplies were in the warehouse and that they would work on our project from start to finish before they started on another job. That was not the case. I understand that the work load must be scheduled to be the most cost and time effective, so I would have been happier sharing my guys if I hadn't been told they would only work on our bathroom until it was done. On days the guys were scheduled elsewhere, no one called to let me know, so I was left sitting at home waiting on them all day. Apologies were made and accepted. Casey and Rod were the primary workers--excellent!!! They made sure everything was done right. They did not just slap the new stuff over the old. They made sure they had a solid base for each step of the process. The tub installation was a real challenge, but they did a great job. Casey called the job manager, Cal, all the time to make sure everything was ordered according to my desires. And I changed those desires several times. I decided to do only a chair rail instead of bead board wainscot on the walls and I decided to cover over a misplaced window so the tile would be more aesthetic. Casey and Rod seem to know how to do anything--plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry--and do it well. Very experienced--has been working in construction since he was a preteen. They had many challenges with out-of-square walls and slanted floors, but they were wonderful problem solvers. They shared their experience and opinions with me to help me make decisions when I asked. Casey and Rod are the most polite, friendly people who have ever worked on a job for me. They worked hard with very few breaks from the moment they got there until the moment they left. They always cleaned up everything before they left each day. I would gratefully have them do anything for me in the future. Danny and Ronald did an excellent job installing cement board and tile on the front and side walls of the shower and on the floors of the bathroom and master closet. Danny made suggestions that really added to the design on the walls. He was able somehow to make the tiles line up on an uneven wall--many years of experience and skill. Danny made sure to exchange the grout that was sent out when he found I had not chosen a grout color and did not like the one sent.
Description of Work: The master bathroom was gutted, removing the wall between the tub/toilet area and the vanity area which was open to the bedroom. Flooring joists were reinforced, new subfloor installed due to unforseen water damage and drooping beams. Existing drywall replaced in walls, covering existing window. Ceiling drywall replaced with painted tongue-in-groove wood strips. Custom cherry vanity, side towers, double linen closet and over-the-toilet cabinet with brushed nickel hardware was built to order. Air/heating vent was moved into base of linen closet. New plumbing for toilet, tub and sink was installed. All new wiring for switches and outlets. New faucets, hidden outlets, custom built cherry and tile base were installed for the unusual tub and shower setup. An L-shaped shower rod to accommodate the 2-wall tub/shower combo was mounted to the shower ceiling. Tile was set on 2 walls of the shower and on the floors of the bath and master closet. New vanity lights and new ceiling light/heat/fan/night light fixtures were installed. An outlet was placed in the ceiling for future TV mount. 4-plug outlets were set inside the back walls of each vanity tower to hide electric toothbrushes, razors, etc. A new outlet was placed beside the linen closet. Plastic bins were attached inside each door of the tub base for shampoo, razors, bubble bath, etc. Existing wall was extended and a pocket door was added to separate the bath from the bedroom for privacy. Vanity mirror custom framed in matching cherry. Crown molding on cabinets and ceilings. Chair rail on 3 walls. Painted bath and prepared bedroom wall for painting in the near future. Existing skylight framed and painted. An extra large deep sink was undermounted to a custom granite countertop on a 36" high vanity. The faucet is a kitchen faucet with a pullout sprayer. All switches--for ceiling light, fan, heater, night light, vanity lights, and closet-- were mounted on the narrow wall by the door.

The biggest problem I experienced was that the salesman oversold their company. Marcus and Troy, the people that did the job were punctual with stated arrival time, cleaned up worksite and removed all rubbish, very conscientious with customer service and communication.Sadly that can't be said for management and foreman, they finished up the tub but didn't have the curved curtain rod. the handheld shower as was to be provided per contract. They also sent 16" wide insulation instead of 20". Because of the extreme heat they left mid Friday afternoon, which I concurred, and were coming back Sat am to finish--they were on time and ran out of material with 3' of ceiling not finished! They called foreman who was going to pickup additional material but would take 2 1/2 to 3 hrs to get here--I told them to go home and finish it later. Quality of workmanship was slightly less than I expected based on sales representation, but I'm learning new construction is easier than remodeling. There was an agreed change to price.
Description of Work: Replace bath tub/shower, tile bathroom floor, remove and replace sun room ceiling and insulate.
