HOUSE OF CARPET INC

The men that came out were very unprofessional. I had to leave for something while they were there and when I returned, I caught one of them with his head in my refrigerator scrounging around. The carpets they put in were not the same dye lot as the ones I picked out when I visited the show room and spoke to the salesman, and after they installed this, I went back to attempt to get some type of reimbursement, having the original test pieces in my hand and they wouldn t do anything about it. They stated that it was Mohawk's problem, or the manufacturer of the rugs. I called them and after some discussion they were finally willing to take the samples and see if I had a case for some type of reimbursement. I am still awaiting their decision. I will never use this company again and I do not recommend them to anyone.

The customer is handed a list of independent contractors to choose from. It states that in essence they can't recommend anyone. I selected two from their list and their responses (or lack thereof) were considerably less than stellar. After a day or two of struggling with this list I called the House of Carpet sales representative to ask him to please recommend someone. He obliged and I wound up with a nice enough gentleman who was very easy going. In fairness to my installer, he was working with a low end carpet and had a hard time with the seams. Unfortunately he didn't come prepared to move the appliances with an appliance dolly. But he was a low bid and I got what I bargained for; a competent job just done rather slowly. He was very willing to return to fix his punch list. Would I use HoC again? Hmm, probably, if low price was my primary goal.

House of Carpet had the best prices. I get a discount since I'm a licensed interior decorator in another state. I shopped around, and even without that, they had the best prices. The installer also did an excellent job with everything.
