I asked the lady how much to change a water spigot. The lady said they charge me $69 to come how and if they do it they waive the $69. When they got there they tried to charge $199 to change it plus part. A 15 minute job!! They are very misleading. I sent them on there way and I will just do it myself. Do not hire this over charging company!! I will tell everyone I know and hopefully cost them thousands of dollars over the years.

I HAVE AN 8 MONTH PREGNANT WIFE!!!!!!!!!!!! Over charged and poor installation of tankless water heater!!! Argued with Gas Company at my house in front of my 8 month pregnant wife. Haven't had warm water in 2 weeks. When presented with needed fixes came out and had to get another crew come out because they could not fix either. Still waiting on some resolution. My wife and I have had to take multiple days off work already. Seriously need to make this right. I will continue to post reviews until this is resolved!!! Unbelievable. They are plumbing and electric. They do have a location in Murfreesboro, I think that is where the guy came from. They serviced our area. It only cost me $59. It was so easy to repair that they just charged us a service call. They made me wait, you know, the first night. They said it would be a certain time, but it was two or three hours before the guy got there so I said I couldn't wait any longer. Then they had to come back the next day. They called me that morning and said he could come out earlier so then it was okay. That would be my only complaint. Overall it was a good experience, but just the first night I had to wait three or four hours and the guy didn't come so I was, like, I wasted my day.
Description of Work: (For plumbing) we had Hiller come out to my office in Manchester. I had a leak and we had a huge water bill. I was thinking it was a leak underneath the parking lot, but he just determined it wasn't a leak in the parking lot. It was just maybe an open value somewhere so he repaired it.

They had to come out several times because there was a leak that they did not find the first time. They just refilled the freon but it went bad again. They had to come back out for more freon. Then they had to come back out and they looked and found the leak that they did not find the first two times when they came out. They tried to charge me a service fee each time they came out even though it was their fault.

He looked at something. I had to have something done with the plumbing. The water was building up. They put a thing under there, to pump out. The Hiller guy looked at it, and the wiring guy did the wiring wrong. He was able to fix the wiring. It was great. He was awesome.

I recommend Hiller. They may be pricey, but they come out and are just great. If there is a problem. They send someone out. It doesn't cost you anything, because they guarantee their work. Other thing that is nice. For the warranty cards, they will fill them out for you, so you don't have to worry about it. They have done plumbing checks. They did my tank-less water heater. It was great. They had to put in a new vent on the roof, it needed a special vent. It started raining, and the water was dripping out, and they sent people out in the pouring down rain, and they fixed it. They were great. I had the units done. They call and set up appointments. They remind you, they call that they are on the way. I let my membership thing lap, I need to get that renewed. That was part of the membership program. That provides you two service calls. The electrician comes out too. They did a light for me. They do the service call. They let you know what you need, and what they recommend. If you are a member of their program, you are a priority for service calls. Which is great. Happy Hiller Club special. You can get the service cheaper, you just can't get the quality cheaper. Most people would considered it a B, but me I considered it an A. I don't feel like its ripping me off. Yes its high, just the service they do. Its well worth it. Just what they provide.

I paid for all the plumbing in my house up to the fixtures to be replaced. I thought the cost was high but Hiller said it would only take two days and I wouldn't need to take off work so I thought paying extra for the convenience was worth it. 5 months later my toilet is sitting in my bedroom. I've taken 7 days off work. Hiller straight up told me they weren't going to do what I've paid them to do because it was too hard. They refuse to finish the job but are still charging me the full amount. Everyone beware - after the first two days I was told the job was complete. After I pointed out several things that weren't up to code or even started they had to send another crew for 2 more days - this crew was the one that said the job was too hard and they weren't going to finish it. In addition the reason I had to take off work - the whole crew left my house in nashville unlocked and unattended for over 1.5 hours, then lied to their company about it when I complained. The crews were extremely vulgar, swearing non-stop in front of my girlfriend. They damaged my floor, which they did pay to fix however required me to take 3 more days off work. All and all a terrible experience, Hiller keeps telling me excuses but not actually doing what I paid for. Also they sent me a couple late payment notices before they even told me they weren't going to finish the job. Their motto - happy you'll be or the service is free - I'm not trying to get it for free, but just goes to show they're liars from top to bottom. Oh, and the toilet in my bedroom - I just called today and they told me they didn't know I wanted it put back in the bathroom. What? I rate things objectively and this is the first company I've rated F across the board.

The second time was done right, unfortunately it took me calling and complaining. I was disappointed in Hiller as they are expensive in comparison, but you expect the job to be done correctly and to a high standard when done. In this case the guy came out and repaired the broken faucet. The work required him to repair the concrete as he had to chisel it out. Instead of repairing it properly he used white caulk which stood out and looked unprofessional. He also got caulking on the side of the house. The guy that came out a second time fixed it all properly and professionally.

Placed the call in the evening between 6pm and 7pm on Tuesday. I got a real person instead of answering machine. I stated this wasn't an emergency and they still were able to schedule something the next morning between 8am and 10am. The service technician showed up around 8:30am (on time is good!). He replaced a couple leaking valves and recharged the system with about 3 lbs. of refrigerant. He looked at the other unit and put about 1/2 lb. in that one. He stated that I may have a larger leak and presented 3 options. 1) replace the refrigerant and see how long it takes, 2) come back and find the leak for an additional ($70) and if its the cool estimate ($2000), and of course 3) replace the system (no estimate was given because I wasn't interested). I'll give him some credit because he didn't push this option which wasn't realistic given the circumstances. I hate being upsold! The wife said he was courteous and professional and would use him again.

Last week I called Hiller Plumbing in Murfreesboro, TN about a slow, steady stream of water running from the outside faucet (hose bib) they replaced. In May 2013 Hiller Plumbing installed a and quot;frost proofand quot; hose bib to replace a faucet that had frozen the previous Winter season. This was done prior to my wife and I closing on the house. The previous owner paid $450.00 to install the new and quot;frost proofand quot; hose bib. When calling Hiller Plumbing the customer service representative that initiated the appointment understood exactly what I described to her as being the problem. I asked since Hiller Plumbing installed the frost proof hose bib will the company stand behind their work, although, the previous home owner paid for the repair. I also explicitly stated that IF there is going to be a charge that I would call another plumber. The lady I talked to said that Hiller Plumbing does stand behind their work that there would be and quot;no charge.and quot; She further stated that the hose bib is under warranty (parts and labor) for 5 years. The quality of the work was good when the and quot;frost proofand quot; hose bib was installed May 2013. The and quot;Aqua Pexand quot; water hose(s) that were also installed were neatly tucked away behind an and quot;access paneland quot; a plumber had to cut into the garage wall. Before the plumber arrived, I called Hiller Plumbing to get a status report for the plumber's ETA. I talked with a lady named Erica. When the plumber arrived to repair the leak he told me that there would be a charge that the water leak would not be covered under warranty. I told him that I was told by the customer service representative that setup the appointment that there would not be a charge. He said that he was told before leaving the office there would be a charge. After arguing with the plumber, I enlightened him to the fact that the internet shows all kinds of in-depth videos on how to install or repair a and quot;frost proofand quot; hose bib. He claimed that the problem was due to a hose left connected to the hose bib, not allowing water to drain after the water is shut off. He claimed that the hose bib had frozen. If that had been the case, there would have been an internal leak with water flowing out onto the garage floor as well as in our house. The water was flowing directly from the end of the hose bib where a garden hose would be attached. I also had and quot;Styrofoamand quot; insulated faucet covers on the outside faucets to prevent freezing. I told the plumber that my wife and I cease using outside water by the end of October. Finally, the plumber concurred that had the 'frost proof' hose bib that Hiller Plumbing installed had frozen there would have been an and quot;internal leak.and quot; It should have been apparent to the plumber with the water flowing from the water outlet of the hose bib where a garden hose would connect there was a problem with the and quot;stemand quot; that shuts off the water when the handle is fully closed. After the plumber removed the 'stem' from the shaft and replaced it with a new stem assembly the water leak was resolved. It was, in fact, a defective stem. The small valve at the end that turns to block two small internal holes appeared to be not closing fully with the handle closed. He said that there would not be a charge for the service call. What really amazed me about the service repair was that the plumber asked me to use my ladder in the garage to climb above the water heater to shut off the water. I told him that the shut-off valve he referred to shuts off water flowing into the house, that he would need to shut off the water to the outside faucets from the meter. He insisted that the garage water shut-off valve would stop the water from flowing to the outside faucet. When I closed the valve the water continued to flow from the outside water faucet. Once he saw that he was wrong he then commented that the valve was installed improperly. I think the plumber that was sent to our house was someone new at Hiller Plumbing. It should have been apparent to the plumber that he would need to shut off the water at a location and quot;upstreamand quot; from the outside faucet, or a location point before water reaches the outside faucet. The following day I received an email from and quot;Hiller Supportand quot; with and quot;Invoiceand quot; shown in the subject area. After opening the email I saw that there was a and quot;zeroand quot; balance owed. However, I also noticed that my name was shown in an area as and quot;Digital Acceptance.and quot; Further down in the and quot;Recommendationsand quot; area, I saw where the plumber made his comments that he replaced the hose bib stem, that the part and labor are not covered under warranty. This is why I give Hiller Plumbing a BIG and quot;F.and quot; The work was good yet, they tried to charge me until I resisted. Had there been a and quot;balanceand quot; owed, by the so-called and quot;Digital Acceptance, and quot; I may have been liable for work they said is covered under warranty. UPDATE: To all whom this may concern and to help enhance the and quot;accuracyand quot; of Angie's List reviews I am updating my previous review. Mr. Kevin Reed, CEO and Manager of the Murfreesboro office for Hiller Heating and Plumbing contacted me by phone to get further feedback regarding the service call I reviewed here at Angie's List. Mr. Reed was very courteous. He extended to me all measures of concern in that he wanted to do all that was necessary to make things right. After talking with Mr. Reed a few days later I received a letter from Mr. Jimmy Hiller, President of Hiller Heating and Plumbing conveying his concerns about the service call. In all fairness, the only issue I had was and quot;communicationand quot; with the company's customer service with respect to their and quot;Digital Invoice.and quot; As far as and quot;qualityand quot; of work that was performed in May 2013 when the hose bib was replaced and, recently, during the brutal cold weather when the hose bib was repaired Hiller Plumbing's repair technicians did a and quot;top notchand quot; job. After talking with Mr. Reed, going forward, I think communication between staff and customers will be greatly enhanced. The person that initiated my appointment at around 4:00 AM did clearly understand the issue and what would be required to repair the water leak. In fact, in talking with her, I thought she was a plumbing technician. It was during my follow-up call later that day that communication with the and quot;day shiftand quot; customer service broke down. Hiller Heating and Plumbing may not be the cheapest. However, I believe that you get what you pay for. I have not looked closely at price comparisons in that each job is usually different. I feel confident in conveying that if Hiller Heating and Plumbing is the most expensive in most of what they do, you can feel assured that they do stand behind their work. As in all business transactions, all parties should have a and quot;clearand quot; understanding knowing what is expected from each person or entity involved, etc. To sum up my experience, I think the best measure of a company's character is by the way in which the company goes about resolving issues.
Description of Work: In May 2013 Hiller Plumbing replaced an outside hose bib (faucet) after a home inspection water test detected a major leak.

I will never, ever use Hiller Plumbing Services again, ever! Their advertisements are deceiving! I used them in 2011 when I had the same kitchen drain clog up. They cleared the drain in 2011 with no problems. It cost about $140. So, naturally I called them again in 2012 when the same drain clogged up again. I had a coupon that I printed off their website for $99 drain clearing. So, I was at work when 2 techs arrived. My wife said that they tried to clear the drain. One guy ran a snake down the drain, and another was on the roof of the house trying to clear the drain through the exhaust. After 2 hours of their attempts, I got a phone call. They told me that they could not clear the drain and that they wanted to pull the and quot;ILLEGALand quot; drain pipes out of my house. He tried to make me feel like a criminal with all this and quot;illegaland quot; talk. Apparently my drains are 1.5and quot; or 2and quot; vs. the new 3and quot; drains that houses are coming out with now. My house was built in the 70s. The following is printed on their receipt: Noticed any slow drains in your house, perhaps grease build up from years in the kitchen sink or hair in the bath tub? Use this coupon to get any drain in your home cleared for $99*. If Hiller is unable to restore flow to your drain, the $99 fee is waived. Also, receive a FREE Sewer snapshot with every drain clearing ($200 value). So, I do have a cleanout at the end of the drain, but they still were unsuccessful. The technician spoke to me on the phone and try to and quot;sell meand quot; on putting new drains under my house. I asked him about the coupon that says, it they are unsuccessful, the fee is waived. I told him he could go and that we'd call it even since he wasted our time too. He said he couldn't do that and that I owed him for the new trap he put under my sink that he had to put in to enable him to run the snake. I told him that he didn't ask us for permission to change out any traps. He said that it was required. Growing extremely frustrated at this point, I asked and quot;okay well what is fair, seeing as how you're leaving us with a clogged drain?and quot; We settled on $50 with these frauds in order for them to agree to leave. Thinking back now, I should have just told them to go and sue me for the $50. I had Browns A1 service out the next morning. Their tech cleared the drain in less than an hour. It was $120. HILLER PLUMBING WILL NEVER BE WELCOME AT MY HOME AGAIN. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME and MONEY BY CALLING THESE PEOPLE. They are only out for your money. They don't care if you are satisfied with their sub par service! I feel like calling the radio stations and telling them they need to pull these $99 it flows or it's free rubbish because that is false advertising! I bet these folks will find themselves in court soon enough. They are crooks. Update: 11/18/13 -**** Hiller Plumbing calls me and wants to and quot;follow upand quot; because I gave them negative feedback. Their customer service rep did a terrible job of trying to mend fences. Here I thought they were going to finally make things right after a year. After I went through the whole scenario with him on the phone, instead of offering assistance he contested the facts and quot;well we were originally at your house in 2008 for the initial calland quot; (vs what I had recalled in the feedback [a year prior to this service] and he also contested and quot;well our records indicate that we charged you $49, not $75and quot;. (I changed it in the review to $49. These people need to take some customer service classes, ya think? Instead of offering an apology for crumby service and my money back, he just wanted to argue. So sad. Hey Hiller, don't call me anymore please. Your service and management stink, and I don't feel bad about shouting it from the rooftops. The market for plumbers is just too large to settle for incompetence and jerks! :) Have a nice day! I say again, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE.
Description of Work: They changed out the trap under the kitchen sink. They were unsuccessful in clearing a stopped up drain in the kitchen.

Response from Hiller Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, & Electrical
[member name removed], I would like to thank you for your feedback and apologize for your frustrations. The person who contacted you yesterday was the plumbing service manager not a customer service rep. He was following up from your review you had left online as he also has the plumbing expertise to understand and explain any repairs. When we get these reviews instead of responding online it is our policy to directly call the customer instead of going back and forth online in order to try and resolve items as quickly as possible. He was asking about service dates to one verify we were looking at the right history records and to get details on the work that had been done. It is important to make sure we have the right information to make sure we are on the same page. We were contacting you to see what we could do to make it right, the plumbing manger after the conversation did instruct accounting to issue a refund of the $49 dollar diagnostic fee that you had paid. We were needing to get the details of the bill because our records indicated you had been only charged the diagnostic fee and you stated you were charged for a $75 repair, we did not have record of you being charged for a $75 repair. As you can understand and hence why feedback is so important to us we wanted to make sure your history was correct. In the conversation you had yesterday with the plumbing manager it was discussed about previously Hiller trying to follow up and you mentioned you had refused to return the phone call. We very much want to make items right every time for every customer but as you can hopefully understand we are limited in what we can do if you do not respond. Our records show we were out in 2008 and cabled your kitchen line, and then in April 2012 you booked another service call for stopped up sink and to discuss other items. The service tech came out to diagnose the problem (which is what the $49 charge is for). He tried to cable the lines but cabling would not work (this service you were not charged for) and then let you know the next options in order to repair the line to fix the clogging issues. It states he was there from 1:30 to 5p working on these items. The issue with drainage was coming from that your pipes were no longer functioning to clear the drain so some of the plumbing need to be changed out. They wanted to give you an option that was at current standard and provided you with a permanent fix to your problem. Per your request in the review I will not call you, you will be receiving a refund check following our guarantee “Happy You’ll Be or the Service is FREE!” . We would like to opportunity to make this right for you but do need your feedback on what you feel would make this right for you. You can respond to this, call or email us Hiller even go to [hyperlink removed] for direct communication with myself, Jimmy Hiller, the owner. If you are interested in taking these step please let me know so I can do what I can to help. Again thank you for the feedback.

Thank God, my unit is still under warranty; however, it still cost more than I had anticipated for labor. I did decide to add some extra precautions for safety reasons that cost extra, but outside of that...everything was great and done in a timely manner. The service techs are great. I was able to obtain financing for this and quot;emergencyand quot; visit that cost me way more than I had ever expected.

This job was complicated by a trap fitting that was extremely difficult to remove That's why I couldn't repair it myself as I was afraid that I would break the connection inside the wall. The repairman also struggled with the removal. He eventually was able to remove the trap and indicated that I would need a new trap (expected this). I was subsequently shocked with the bill being nearly $300.00. I called Hiller the next day to ask why the bill was that high. Talked with a supervisor who said he would talk with the repairman and call me back. I never heard back from anyone. I called again three days later and left a voice message. Still no return call. Will never call Hiller again, even though the repair work itself was adequate.
Description of Work: Had to fix a leak under a bathroom sink prior to listing the house on the real estate market.
