Adams Heating & Cooling

Warranty company (Old Republic has done a great job) promptly sent out Adams Heating and Air (Murfreesboro, TN) to diagnose the system. They decided that a new unit was needed and Old Republic approved. Costs not cover by Old Republic were $1,060. Because I'm currently unemployed I ask Adams if I could split the payments up into 2 or 3 payments. They said no. When I started to question them on the details of the work being performed and what they're warrty was he became very defensive and said I don't have to have the HVAC unit installed if I didn't want to and that he doesn't make any money on these warrty units. I reminded him that he didn't have to sign on with the warrty in the first place, then he told me that he was the lowest in town, you won't find anyone cheaper, blah, blah, blah.... Told him that I still needed it installed and he said that he would come out the next day to start the prep work. When I called the warrty comapny to check on the HVAC unit's location they told me it was at his shop, but he told them he would not install the unit and canceled the work order. We were able to transfer the work order to another heating & air company closer by. They are a larger company, and they're price was lower. And the unit is being installed tomorrow (will report on them when it's done). Glad I didn't pay Adams any money other than the $55 service call fee which Old Republic waived.
