Dennis Kaney Painting

He is very kind. He sets up a workspace and he paints with minimal disruption to your house. My whole house wasn't torn up. He had a small area which would be his work space where he keeps all of his supplies. It is all pretty confined. He is very good at the end of the day, cleaning up and putting things as much back to order as he can, which is really good. I have used him several times over the years.

On the designated day Dennis arrived on time for the kitchen job, which is extremely important if you have a day job and can't wait around for contractors or other service providers. (I took the day off to handle other chores) We got off to a slower than usual start because we made a last-minute decision to paint the lower half of the walls a different color from that of the trim work that I had on hand. Dennis suggested we go with a substantially darker color than the off-white trim for contrast and to blend in better with the new dark wood cabinets. We selected a color from the wallpaper pattern and off to the Porter Paint store we went. This was a great suggestion as the lower half of the walls by the dishwasher and back door tend to get dirtier than the other walls due in part to the presence of a 70 pound labrador who is always banging up against the walls. Once we had the additional paint in hand, I went about my business for the most part while Dennis set to work prepping and painting. He is very methodical in his approach and breaks rooms down into smaller sub-projects so there's not a lot of down time between processes and the entire room is not completely off limits. Dennis is also a creative visual artist and has an exceptional eye for color if one is undecided about a color choice. We have similiar tastes in decorating colors -- I may have an idea in mind and have my selections narrowed down to two or three choices, but I rely on Dennis' eye and insticts when selecting that final color for a room or trim. For basic professionalism, Dennis will be on time or call you if a he is running even 15 or so minutes late, is excellent on patching, prep work and clean-up and will see the job through and not abandon you mid-project. I plan on using Dennis again for some interior projects I'm currently planning and highly recommend him for any interior work. Other projects Dennis has done for me include painting a study in my former home with lots of trim work, a ceiling painting following a roof repair and replacement of drywall and a two-toned kitchen with a chair rail.

I would highly recommend. Dennis is a real Artist at his craft. It's hard these days to find interior painters who take their time for perfection. The rooms came out fantastic. Be sure to ask him about your color selections first. What they look like on a paint chip, might not be what you think it will really look like. As a FYI, Dennis strictly uses Porter paints.
