Response from CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL WORKFORCE
The member was ( and is ) a wonderful woman to work for. Although our business relationship is severed I have nothing but good things to say about her. Sometimes I am told that I am too optimistic with respect to what I believe I can accomplish within a given time period. Although I never promised a completion date for this project as it evolved over time it did take quite a while to undertake. I knew I could build a wonderful fence for her but it did take entirely too long to build. There were several circumstances that just kept getting in the way of progress and I believe she just grew weary of it. I did as well. During this fence project I had several thousand dollars stolen from me. So I had to use credit to recover that. And I did. I had a previously booked vacation that I was obligated to take on a certain date. And there were multiple dates I had planned to dedicate to the fence job that were rained out. Also the project was not set in stone from start to finish. It began as one thing and evolved into more. First one side only then the entire yard. At one point there was a tree that might need to be removed, then we went around it. Then there was the possibility that the driveway may be paved then that was cancelled. The powered gate became a problem trying to get it to work correctly over a gravel driveway so it had to be revamped. The wind took out the first actuator so that had to be replaced. And on and on and on. One problem to overcome after another. So yes I would say that this job took too long. The fence is beautiful. She got a wonderful structure but it did seem to drag out. Also I had plans to come out and got sick one time. Just ridiculous delays that made me look bad. She and I both have email records detailing this. Nothing shady or maligned, but certainly frustrating for both of us. As for the stain. I had told her that I would apply the stain at no cost if she would pay for it. She did, but then fired us after we had applied part of it and asked that I leave the remaining stain outside the fence for her to apply herself. At the time she requested this we were in the dead of winter with high's in the teens. Admittedly I was hurt by the abrupt firing and confused that she would not even entertain a phone call with me. Like anyone else facing the same situation I was hurt, then probably a little angry over it. We had mowed and maintained the property for two seasons for her. The lawn had never looked better. And I felt like for all the things we had done right it seemed a bit hasty to fire me over the fence. There was never a conversation like "hey Chris, you know I'm getting frustrated with you", or "Chris, we need to pick the pace up on this. My patience are getting thin". Nothing like that at all. Just a "get lost and don't come back" kind of feeling. So I was shocked and a bit upset about it. As I mentioned this was the dead of winter and the weather had just broken to the really cold nights high's in the teens. So I was tempted to do exactly what she asked me to do and leave the stain in front of her fence knowing that it would freeze and separate thereby ruining it while waiting for her to come home and find it. But in the end I wasn't going to leave the stain there to be ruined by the cold and so I left it in controlled storage where it sits today. At the time I was convinced she was just trying to make a point with me to get it done quicker. So I didn't want to do something that would hurt our relationship later. The stain comes from Washington State. It arrives in quart containers that have to be diluted with water. I have already cut the stain to the correct tint so it will match what has already been sprayed on the fence. I purchased four, five gallon buckets from a local big box store with lids and sealed the stain in those buckets. It just needs to be shaken and shot through a sprayer onto the fence. I'm still willing to finish the application if she would like that at no cost. Or if she just wants me to deliver the stain I will gladly do that as well. As I mentioned I have no ill will toward the member. She always treated me kindly and fairly. She was generous, funny and always hospitable. I guess that's what made our separation such a surprise to me. Frankly, as close I believed we had become in our professional relationship, I fully expected that whatever had set her off to cause her to fire me would pass and she would maybe call me back this spring to finish up. That may sound strange to the casual reader. But this is not a case of me showing up, doing a job, leaving and then being rated on Angie's list. This is woman with whom I have spent hundreds of hours working for over the last couple of years. So while it may seem that I simply left a customer in the dark over some stain this was not the case. I truly believed that the relationship was solid enough that we would discuss her concerns at some point and move forward together. Clearly in light of her comments to Angie's list this is not the case. So whatever she would like me to do here I will cheerfully do for her. I can either finish the application at no cost to her with the stain I have in my custody, or I can leave the 20 remaining gallons at her home for her to deal with as she sees fit. I take full responsibility for this. I probably didn't handle this in retrospect as well as I could have or should have. Even though I have no nefarious intentions here the fact remains her fence isn't completely stained. And it really can't be until I do one or the other options previously mentioned. So this is my fault. The blame rests with me. And I will resolve it in whichever way the member would like me to resolve it. I certainly did not expect anything like this or the ratings that she has given me for the work that I performed. I think the time frame was too long to be sure. But she has the best looking, and best built fence within miles of her home. Anyone who would like to question that can simply drive by her home at the address she listed with the report. That structure is built with military precision. And reinforced with exterior adhesives. So to wrap up this response. I maintain that I do great work. Better than most. I did not handle the situation surrounding the completion of this project as well as I could have given the circumstances. I misjudged the true intentions of the customer and she is owed an apology and the stain that I assumed she would have me apply at a later time. I'm not a perfect man, but I strive for it. When I make a mistake I own it. So I own this one. And I'm sorry that did not live up to Carla's expectations. I'm sorry I lost her as a customer. And I'm sorry I mistook a good business relationship for a friendship. I wish I could go back and make subtle changes that would have altered the outcome. But since I can't I'm willing to accept the blame, the feedback and ratings, and to resolve this in what ever manner would most make Carla Simmons if not happy, at least satisfied that her frustrations over this have been heard and addressed. She is a good and decent woman. A great customer. And she will be missed.

Not much to tell since the company did not do any work for me. I was a bit disappointed as it appears others had a good experience with them and Christopher appeared to be very knowledgable.
Description of Work: Christopher came to the house to review the project I needed done and to work me up an estimate. He left telling me he would be in touch and I never heard from him again.

I feel horrible about this. I sent an email to the address I wrote down for the Member to give her the quote I promised. We had an unexpected death in the family on that very next Friday evening and I was occupied with that. I assumed that since I did not get a response from the Member she was still looking for quotes. I do apologize. And I'm happy to help her in any way that I can. I will try to contact her tomorrow as it is now nearly 8:00PM.

He was very knowledgeable about landscaping. There's actually a lot of landscaping work that needs to be done in my yard, but I work out of town a lot, so I wasn't able to get a lot of work done. There wasn't anything that I disliked. Their professionalism is top notch. Their price was a little expensive, but it was worth it.
Description of Work: They cleared out my lot, which had been unoccupied for over a year.

Great. I know very little about local plants and Chris picked out everything, we discussed the basics of what I wanted (he gave many suggestions). He has done a wonderful job and is still working on the yard.
Description of Work: Put in 7 Maple trees, about 25 plants/bushes and 1 other tree, I can not remember the name. Planted and mulched around 3/4 of home and around trees. Looks like a different home now. Low maintenance planting.

Description of Work: Showed up when he said he would, price was reasonable. He is now going to do the yard work every week. At present Chris is working up a bid for planting trees and then we will get together on doing some landscaping of the front of my home.

I would HIGHLY recommend these guys to anyone. They checked with us every step of the way to make sure we were happy with the way things were going. We made a monumental error thinking we could put in an awning that in no way could have fit, and they adapted their plans on the fly to come up with something much better, and helped figure out what to do with the awning to boot. There are guys on his crew that I'm pretty sure could do practically anything, and I have already hired 2 of them to do some other odd jobs around here. The only surprise was that they thought they'd be able to use the frame from our old deck for part of then new one, once they got the old deck boards up we could see that the frame boards were split and unusable, so they had to rebuild that too. Our cost was higher than the estimate because of the awning (our fault) and that. I think they were more than fair on their price for that. If you want the job done right, and great customer service, use these guys.
Description of Work: Chris and crew demolished and replaced our totally inadequate deck. It was actually 2 separate jobs, price reflects both jobs. The first job only took 5 days. They tore down our old deck, hauled off the scrap, and built a bigger (more than twice the size of our old deck), MUCH better deck complete with a trellis, a roof over the eating area, an awesome built in bench, and 2 built in planters. I was amazed they could get that completely done from start to finish in 5 days. The second job they came back and stained/waterproofed it with a product that's guaranteed to last 7 years, this only took 1 day. The quality of the work and the workers are both outstanding. We couldn't possibly be any happier. I got their name from Angie's List under Deck Maintenance, he's also on here under Driveways, Asphalt, Landscaping, and Pressure Washing.

All I can say about the experience was WOW! EXTREMELY professional and incredibly talented. I am literally blown away by the results. They FAR exceeded my expectations and the entire project went off without a hitch. Chris is very responsive and communicates VERY well during the entire process. I always knew what was going on and something I truly appreciated is that he always left things in order even during the project. There was never tons of tools and equipment lying around even as the project was underway. The end result is just amazing! I wish I had found this company MUCH earlier. I'll be using them A LOT more in the future and can not hype them enough. It was a flawless experience!
Description of Work: I asked Chris to come in and pretty much revamp my entire front landscaping, including a pond and all new shrubs/flowers, etc. I had attempted some landscaping myself, but finally gave up as my every effort just fell apart. The reality is that I DO NOT have a green thumb. So, I needed help, but wanted to find somebody that was really good, but also being creative and professional was key as well. I've worked with landscapers in the past that just come in and do a really poor job.

Chris and his employees did a wonderful job and we were extremely pleased with the outcome of both projects. He first came out to look at the driveway and the deck and to give us an estimate. Then he came back on the scheduled date to do the driveway. He then started work on the deck which took about three visits to complete. Both projects were finished within a week's time which we thought was very quick. Chris also did some extra things for us just because he is so helpful and nice. Chris and his employees are reliable and efficient, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or to call them again in the future. Our deck is beautiful, and we have used it more in the last couple weeks since it was done, than we have used it in the last year. This is thanks to Chris and his excellent company.
Description of Work: Chris pressure cleaned, chemically treated, and stained our deck. He also sealed our driveway. Both jobs were included in the approximate cost above.

He was very polite, and went above and beyond the call of duty. His punctuality and responsiveness however really needs some attention. In addition to the bee mess, and some other unforeseen circumstances, he did not complete the job on time. I over looked this after first, but then it took him more than a week, even though he had already cashed the check I left for him. In the end though, he did as he agreed and more, and I am happy with the job and look forward to working with him again, and hoping for better punctuality.
Description of Work: Chris cut my way overgrown yard and dealt with an surprise nest of bees for which he was unfortunately stung many times. Even though it was not in the agreement, he killed the nest for me and then finished the yard.
