Angela Knee

I have worked with Angela for several years now, first as a tenant in a couple of properties she managed for an owner, then as a home buyer. She has always been extremely helpful and knowledgeable almost to a fault. I have never experienced a single misstep in her professionalism even with hundreds of interactions over the years! As an example, at the time of closing I was using a bank that didn't have a local branch, so I was unable to set up a wire transfer for the closing costs as the title company required. Angela, investing a great deal of time working with me and her bank (a couple of hours at least), deposited my money in her account and transferred the funds to the title company. I can't imagine that there are very many agents out there that would work with a client to this degree (as a point of clarification, and as mentioned earlier, I have had a land lord/tenant relationship with Angela for several years prior to this, so she did maintain a degree of trust that the check I wrote would clear). I will happily call for her services again when it comes time to sell my home!

We were relocating to the area from out of state. She was recommended to us by our relocation company. I contacted Angela to let her know the week we were going to be visiting so we could start viewing homes in the area. At the time we had not sold our existing home. She did not want to show us any homes when we were in town because we had not sold our house yet. She felt it would get sellers hopes up when we were not in a position to buy. As it turns out our home sold prior to our visit to see the area. We were in town 1 week to find a home quickly. We looked at a lot of homes and Angela was very good about being available to view homes. However when we left a home she never asked our likes and dislikes with each home. In the past realtors I have worked with asked what we liked and disliked about a home in order to get a feel for what we were looking for. Instead she would tell us what house she felt would be a good fit for our family. We had a home we really liked and wanted to make an offer. Prior to submitting an offer we viewed the home twice. The home had two odd looking ponds in the backyard. The ponds looked man made with PVC piping coming out of them and they had a privacy fence without much walking space. Each time we viewed the home we asked her to find out about the ponds. She never followed up on that. When we were putting in the offer I found in the disclosure document that the ponds were part of the sewer system. At that point she said, ?I thought that was what those were.? That was the first time she mentioned knowing anything about the ponds. I felts she was not upfront with us. We were in a hurry and needed a home right away. So we put in the offer and at the same time researched the sewer system ourselves. That offer did not go through. We had a second home we decided to put an offer on. In the disclosure document there were known issues with the home that the home owners said had been resolved. The home inspection indicated the items were not fixed properly. We asked Angela for more information regarding what happened to the house, who fixed the house and receipts of the repairs. We never saw any documentation. I didn?t feel the sellers were being upfront and I didn?t feel Angela was working for us. She kept sending documents so we could proceed with the sale. She never offered any solutions on what we could do to insure the proper repairs were made prior to closing. I actually ended up calling the realtor who sold our house from out of state. That realtor did not have to help us but we were fortunate to have a good selling agent. Our selling agent offered us options as to what we could do to insure the home was repaired properly prior to closing. Angela did not offer any solutions or suggestions. We felt she was working for herself to insure a sale. Angela disclosed to us that she has rental properties so this is not her primary source of income. In the future if I ever us a realtor, I will obtain one who?s main source of income is realty. A realtor without a good reputation will not be in business long if that is there only source of income. We had such a bad experience that we decided not to use a realtor to purchase our new home. We had to get temporary housing and I reviewed Zillow and Realtracs web site everyday for new listings. As a result the sellers were able to deduct the 3% commission from the price of the house.
